Meet Your Match, Book 1:
Prejudice Meets Pride
by
Rachel Anderson
About the book....
After years of pinching pennies and struggling to get through art school, Emma Makie’s hard work finally pays off with the offer of a dream job. But when tragedy strikes, she has no choice but to make a cross-country move to Colorado Springs to take temporary custody of her two nieces. She has no money, no job prospects, and no idea how to be a mother to two little girls, but she isn’t about to let that stop her. Nor is she about to accept the help of Kevin Grantham, her handsome new neighbor, who seems to think she’s incapable of doing anything on her own.
Fun, compelling, and romantic, Prejudice Meets Pride is the story of a guy who thinks he has it all figured out and a girl who isn’t afraid to show him that he doesn’t. It’s about learning what it means to trust, figuring out how to give and to take, and realizing that not everyone gets to pick the person they fall in love with. Sometimes, love picks them.

Think Pride and Prejudice with a modern day twist.
Emma is the newly transplanted girl in town. With two kids in tow, a vehicle that gets her noticed for all the wrong reasons and a stubborn streak you can see a mile away, it's easy enough to spot the PRIDE in this group. As for the PREJUDICE, he arrives in the form of Kevin, her next door neighbor and hot bit of pediatric dentistry. Opposites may attract but if these two would only get out of their own ways, they might just have a chance at something they never say coming that will change their stars in a BIG way.
In adjective land, I'd go with sweet, adorable, laugh inducing, heart warming, just to name a few. The story is as sweet as can be with characters you can't help but love. Emma for her stubborn independent streak as well as her BIG heart, selflessness, and creativity (love the girls room!). Kevin for his gentlemanly ways, swoon worthy package overall, and the many blunders he both navigates and falls flat into. The two of them together, PRICELESS. Believe you me, you'll be cheering them on screen after screen and by ebook's end, be ready for more. Good thing too, seeing as this is book 1 of a SERIES.
In conclusion, a book PERFECT for Contemporary Romance fans as well as those in love with Women's Fiction and Chick Lit. It's light. It's sweet. It's a sugary treat to add to your reading list this weekend with a guaranteed good time for one and all. The content remains PG13 throughout so the reading audience remains broad. About the author....
A USA Today bestselling author, Rachael Anderson is the mother of four and is pretty good at breaking up fights, or at least sending guilty parties to their rooms. She can’t sing, doesn’t dance, and despises tragedies. But she recently figured out how yeast works and can now make homemade bread, which she is really good at eating.

The market seems awash with these re-workings. Some of which (and I include Prejudice Meets Pride)sound well written and not without imagination whilst others I think sound like lazy copies.
A bit hypocritical of me given I'm just about to finish Beauty by Sarah Pinborough which is a re-working of several fairytales.
Tracy: This one is only a "rework" in the most general of concepts. If you didn't know the original, you wouldn't notice anything but a great story. ^-^
What an adorable review! I love how you worded that. Thank you so much! I hope you have a fabulous day!
Sounds like a cutie I need to try.
