STORYBOOK SUNDAY: Cookiesaurus Rex...round TWO! Disney Hyperion Blog Tour stop with Special Guest Post!

HI guys and gals!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

We're celebrating another day of bookish fun with Storybook Sunday! For those not up to speed on the post, I read a lot of great storybooks and thought, why not give them their own day in the sun. Hence, Storybook Sunday! Feel free to join the fun and create a post on your own site with the same name. I'd love to see any linked up in the comments! Anywho...back to the matter at hand.

Today, we're taking a tasty trip back through time to...a post I did a few weeks back.  Okay, so we're not taking huge dinosaur steps back to the Jurassic period or anything, but considering our lead today, we might as well be. Ready or not, make way for today's flour caked, icing covered, sparkly or not, book of choice...

About the book...
As soon as Cookiesaurus Rex comes out of the oven, he declares that he is King of All Cookies. He should be frosted before all of the standard-shaped cookies, in a nice bright green. But the other cookies are getting sprinkles, or shiny stars, or even gumdrops . . . WAIT ONE STINKIN’ STOMPIN’ MINUTE! Cookiesaurus wants a do-over. Problem is, he might not end up with the kind of “do” he wants. Readers will love the funny back-and-forth between this cheeky cookie and the hand that frosts him. See who gets his licks in at the end!

Top Five Voices to Play Cookiesaurus Rex
By Amy Fellner Dominy and Nate Evans

Cookiesaurus Rex isn’t just any cookie—he’s the King of All Cookies. He’s the most spectacular cookie to ever come out of the oven. So not just any actor could portray a cookie of such magnitude. Here are a few who might be worth the dough.

Kevin Hart
He’s a little guy with a big attitude…sounds exactly like someone Nate and I know and someone you’re about to meet.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
He’s the biggest, toughest real-life superhero in the world. Just like Cookie.

Robert Downey Jr.
He’s brilliant, well-dressed, and a master of costume changes. So is Cookiesaurus Rex.  To paraphrase the character Tony Stark:
“Who are you without your frosting?”
“One tough cookie.”

Patrick Warburton
You might know him from Seinfeld where he played Puddy, Elaine’s mechanic boyfriend. As Nate and I were writing early versions of Cookie, Puddy’s clueless but good-natured character inspired us (and made us laugh). Just the way Cookiesaurus does.

I have someone to nominate for the perfect voice for COOKIESAURUS!

Who says Cookie is a boy?!  During the writing and rewriting process, Amy would act out dialogue and facial expressions (in our local Starbucks, no less). Amy’s improvisational dialogue often caused me to laugh out loud (and spit coffee). Cookiesaurus, as voiced by Amy, is funny, emotional, egotistical, and absolutely charming. She is my top choice for Cookie’s voice.

Aww. And I just thought Nate had a problem with coffee spitting.

Seriously, we had so much fun writing this book together. We hope you’ll have fun reading it!
