WINNERS: Puppy Love!

Hi there!  I have some exciting news to share with you regarding the most recent contest here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.  If you entered, brace yourself...here comes the moment you've all been waiting for.

Hosted on my site with the generosity of penned author, Charles Franklin Emery III, we were able to offer to you a chance to win 1 of 5 copies of his book, A Man and His Maniac:  The Bunkie Story.
This ended up being one of the larger contests here at the site as the number of individual people entering climbed to a whopping 19 (that's just the actual people, not the number of entries from all that participated)!  (Okay, so not a lot to some of you super-bloggers out there, but I think that's quite a bit!)
After the author checked in a few times and several communications back and forth, Mr. Emery gave me some fantastic news!  He was so thrilled to see the interest in his title (are you ready)...that he granted a few more copies (here it comes)...to the contest.  Without further adieu, the winners of the 'PUPPY LOVE' contest are......

(that entered)
That's right!  Mr. Emery is supplying 19 total copies in the end that are being shipped out to the winners in the next few days.  (See...it DOES pay off to take a moment and enter a fabulous contest!)  Thanks to everyone that entered, you made this as much fun as it could be!  Enjoy your books and if you get a chance, let me know what you think about it when you've completed it!  I'm always curious to see another's view on a title I've read.

Special thanks to author Charles Franklin Emery III, without whom this contest (and the surprise outcome) would not have been possible.  For more information on both the book, the author and the dog behind the story, check out his site, my review, and the interview!

Until next time....happy reading!

CONTEST: Puppy Love!

Hi there, everyone!  So,  how is February treating you thus far?  Over dosed on pre-Valentine's Day love yet?  No?  Good....because I aim to spread a little more.  You may have noticed the widget at the top of my page from HarperTEEN.  It will remain there as promised throughout the month of February giving you the chance to win a new book each day in their Winter Escape Giveaway.  (Stay tuned for a special feature post right here on the 18th!  You won't be sorry...)

In the spirit of giving and continuing the warm fuzzy feelings (emphasis on the fuzzy)...I am lucky enough to be able to present to you yet another contest starting right now!  YOU, lucky readers, have the chance to win your very own SIGNED copy of A Man and His Maniac: The Bunkie Story courtesy of author Charles Franklin Emery!  In fact, he is offering 5 copies for this giveaway so you have that many more chances to win!  Missed the post about the book?  No worries...just click here.  Missed the interview with the author?  Got you covered once again...click right here.

Now let's see...we've covered the prize, let's cover the rules:
1.  Open to US/Canada addresses only.  If you live elsewhere and have someone that will ship the book to you with a US/Canada address, that will work as well.  No P.O. Boxes please.
2.  Due to the book's content, I would request that those entering be at least 15 or older.  It's not really bad, but there are a few choice words and situations I'd rather not put right under the nose of anyone younger than that.
3.  The contest will run from today through midnight CST on February 21st.  The winning names will be drawn and contacted via email on Monday, February 22nd.  Winners will have 72 hours to contact me back with their address.  Names/addresses will be forwarded to the author for book shipment.
3.  YOU MUST LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.  Sorry...I'm not trying to yell at you, just emphasize that you really need to include that information...otherwise, I can not contact you if you win!  Feel free to put it in a "coded" form....no one likes SPAM.  Something like SOANDSO(AT)EVERYWHERE(DOT)COM ought to work quite well.  (So, let's sum this up...no email address, no entry.)
4.  There won't be any crazy things to do in order to enter this contest, a simple comment + email address will work....but there will opportunities for extra points....speaking of those....
Extra points can be earned by:
+2 - Old follower
+1 - New follower
+1 - Tweeting contest (leave a link to the tweet please!)
+1 - Linking contest on blog (leave a link to the post.....or sidbar!  Those count too....)
+1 - TOTAL YOUR ENTRIES (this point is only valid for those participating in the extra point options...but hey, it's an easy extra extra point!)

Alright, so what are you waiting for?  The contest is officially open!  Enter for your chance to win and share in some of the fuzzy puppy love!

Until next time....happy reading!

Taste Testing Tuesdays (9)

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays!
Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading

On the menu this week is a sample of one book that I'm just about to start and another that will be making an appearance later this month on it's tour around the blogosphere!  Let's take a taste, shall we?

At the end of the page, written in a shaky scrawling hand, was another message:  'I saw Jonah write this paper.  My name is Wilmer Salley.  Right now.' -- pg 68, Powers by John B. Olson

He grabbed my shoulder and said he felt sorry for me and it looked like it was a great car that I had put a lot of work into.  He looked over at Bunkie and said, "At least the dog is all right."  That cop was OK in my book. -- pg 18, A Man and His Maniac:  The Bunkie Story by Charles Franklin Emery III

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
