Great Escapes Virtual Book Tours presents... THE BROKEN SPINE by Dorothy St. James - SPOTLIGHT + GIVEAWAY!

Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, we're bringing you a stop along the Great Escapes Virtual Book Tour featuring The Broken Spine (A Beloved Bookroom Mystery) by Dorothy St. James!  It's the first in a new Cozy Mystery series, so if you're all about the who-dun-it, grab a seat and check out today's title in the spotlight!

Cozy Mystery 1st in Series
Publisher: Berkley (January 19, 2021)
Hardcover: 320 pages
ISBN-10: 0593098579
ISBN-13: 978-0593098578
Kindle ASIN: B086SCQ639

The first in an exciting new series featuring Trudell Becket, a spunky librarian who will stop at nothing to save her beloved books and catch a killer!

 Trudell Becket, book-loving librarian, finds herself in a bind when the library where she works is turned into a state-of-the-art bookless library. In a rare move of rebellion, Trudell rescues hundreds of her library's beloved books slated for the recycle center. She sets up a secret book room in the library's basement and opens it to anyone who shares her love of the printed book.
 When the town councilman, who was the vocal proponent of the library's transformation into a "futuristic technological center," is crushed under an overturned shelf of DVDs, Trudell becomes the police's prime suspect for his murder. She was the only person in the library at the time of his death, or so the police believe. But that's not true. For the past month, Trudell had been letting a few dozen residents into the building through the basement entrance so they could read and check out the printed books.

But if she tells the police about the backdoor patrons who were in the library at the time of the murder, she'd have to explain about the secret book room and risk losing the books. In order to protect herself from being arrested for a murder she didn't commit, Trudell--with the help of a group of dedicated readers--decides to investigate. She quickly discovers you can't always judge a book by its cover.

About the author...

Mystery author Dorothy St. James was born in New York but raised in South Carolina. She makes her home on an artsy island community in South Carolina with her husband, a crazy dog, and fluffy cat. Though writing has always been a passion for her, she pursued an undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology and a graduate degree in Public Administration and Urban Planning. She put her educational experience to use, having worked in all branches and all levels of government including local, regional, state, and federal. She even spent time during college working for a non-profit environmental watchdog organization.

Switching from government service and community planning to fiction writing wasn't as big of a change as some might think. Her government work was all about the stories of the people and the places where they live. As an urban planner, Dorothy loved telling the stories of the people she met. And from that, her desire to tell the tales that were so alive in her heart grew until she could not ignore it any longer. In 2001, she took a leap of faith and pursued her dream of writing fiction full-time.

* Dorothy St. James is the alter-ego of award-winning multi-published author, Dorothy McFalls. She enjoys writing in several different genres. Her works have been nominated for many awards including: Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award, Reviewers International Organization Award, National Reader's Choice Award, CataRomance Reviewers' Choice Award, and The Romance Reviews Today Perfect 10! Award. Reviewers have called her work: "amazing", "perfect", "filled with emotion", and "lined with danger."

Class of '95
by Laurie Oknowsky
Genre: Contemporary Romance

What would you do if you got a second chance at true love? When Eunice Rysner meets the sexy Jake Castellano, she already knows he’s going to be trouble. Though she tries to push him away to spare them both a lot of heartache, Jake is persistent. But his vindictive girlfriend and Eu’s nemesis since eighth grade, Geri Thompson, is determined to keep him all to herself-by whatever means necessary.
Even twenty years later, when the three meet up again in Long Island at their high school reunion, Eunice-now a successful novelist-can’t deny the feelings she still has for Jake. As she reacquaints herself with the now-divorced love of her life, she can’t help but wonder if this is finally the time to stand up for herself and give in to true love. But if she does, Geri may just steal everything she’s ever wanted from her yet again.

Look, Jake, lets just end this before it starts. You dont want to be friendly with a loser like me. Why dont you go to the back of the bus with the more socially-acceptable crowd?” We pulled into the school’s parking lot, and I gathered my things. “Being my friend will just be social suicide. Im doing you a favor.

Chapter 4, meeting Jake – Class of ‘95

Laurie Oknowsky had her start as a community author on Wattpad and Inkitt. As her success morphed into something worth trending about, she made the leap into the world of traditional publishing. Class of 95’ is her debut book being published with Ukiyoto Publishing House. Not only is this a work of fiction, it is also a very personal account of a time of awkward adolescence into the hopeful aspirations of a chaste adult.

Heading back to Wildstone for...THE FOREVER GIRL by Jill Shalvis - REVIEW + GIVEAWAY!

Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, we're shining the book spotlight on the latest addition to the WILDSTONE series from author Jill Shalvis via William Morrow! It's a Contemporary Romance that, while a part of the series, stands quite well on its own, and all the better for it so YOU can dive in and feel like part of the gang....although some of the characters are having a hard time of exactly that right now!  Anywho, let's make our way back to Wildstone for today's book of choice...

Wildstone, Book 6
by
Jill Shalvis
9780062897855
William Morrow

About the book...
When Maze returns to Wildstone for the wedding of her estranged bff and the sister of her heart, it’s also a reunion of a once ragtag team of teenagers who had only each other until a tragedy tore them apart and scattered them wide.

Now as adults together again in the lake house, there are secrets and resentments mixed up in all the amazing childhood memories. Unexpectedly, they instantly fall back into their roles: Maze their reckless leader, Cat the den mother, Heather the beloved baby sister, and Walker, a man of mystery.

Life has changed all four of them in immeasurable ways. Maze and Cat must decide if they can rebuild their friendship, and Maze discovers her long-held attraction to Walker hasn’t faded with the years but has only grown stronger.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With that GORGEOUS summery cover calling your name, how can you possibly resist a trip back to Wildstone?  For readers, the obvious answer is YES...but for the characters...you might want to see exactly what they're stepping into, and why running the other way SERIOUSLY crossed their minds...
Once upon a time, they were tight as tight could be.  Brother and sisters of the heart, they knew bloodlines were not all that made someone family, but when tragedy struck, guilt was taken unnecessarily, and deep seated insecurities rear their ugly heads...well, it's easier to run than to face your fears, right?  Thing is...you can only run so far, so fast...and eventually it all catches up to you.  Grant it, you don't anticipate the catch up time being your life's anchor's wedding, but hey...it WAS coming!  Why not face it with pizazz?!  Can I just say prepare for fireworks of ALL kinds?  Yeah, SO MANY kinds because things are about to come to a boiling point and where there's steam, you're bound to find fire...
The connection these four had is enviable, but the state we find them in...so much less so.  Don't worry, things begin to get sorted, but definitely not before they get much MUCH messier.  We get the skinny on events as they unfold from all four of our main characters, which certainly gives us a well rounded picture to play with.  Cat is their anchor; she always knew how to draw them together and make things right, but even she's out of sorts at the moment with the wedding (that really shouldn't be because though I love the puppers, Dillion was not growing on me).  Heather is definitely the heart, but her reluctance to share her own hiccups over the last few years broke mine.  Maze was a wild card, and though she hasn't truly settled her competitive streak, nor her take it all to heart ways, she's definitely grown...and still carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders.  Walker doesn't really have room to talk because HELLO...dude took off and ensconced himself in brick walls of another variety (military, FBI, the works!)...but he did keep in touch with most of them, so there is that.  She plus he is also a highly volatile combination...as in hearts have been broken and could still break further, but they could also be the best thing that ever happened to each other if given the proper chance.
So many roads to travel, but all of them made better with true friends, true family by your side...and these four know that lesson inside and out.  A great add to the series, and a great read for Contemporary Romance fans!  If you've not picked up a Wildstone book, or a work by this author for that matter, you don't know what you're missing!
Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Today, we've teamed up with The Children's Book Review as we shine the bookish spotlight on a Children's Picture Book title that's aimed at helping kiddos cope with our new reality. Yes, my friends, social distancing is not simply for the introverted, but everyone nowadays as we all try to take care of ourselves and each other, but that enforced distancing from others can be hard to understand for adults, let alone wee ones. Enter today's blog tour guest and ebook of choice...
About the book...
Love knows no distance. I Miss You Most helps children through the heartache of distance by showing them how to hold their loved ones near. Whether exploring the seas as pirates or twirling like ballerinas, imagination can bridge even the greatest distance. Because time with those you love is the most magical thing of all!
It's a Picture Book we never thought we would need for a generation that needs it more than they even realize.
This brightly colored, whimsically illustrated book helps remind little ones that yes, we may be apart in distance, but we are still hand in hand within our hearts. It suggests the use of imagination to have adventures while we stay safe. It makes a case for all the fun to be had virtually or across the wires as we help stop the spread of this pandemic. It gives little ones that extra ray of hope that one day our new norm will be in the past and we will once again be able to gather with those we love with less fear of putting them or ourselves at risk. It quietly asks us to do our part to make it to a better tomorrow...and in light of everything that has happened, and the progress that has been made thus far, I truly don't believe it to be too much.
