BLOG TOUR: Stick in the Mud Meets Spontaneity by Rachael Anderson

Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, we're hosting a stop along the BLOG TOUR featuring book 3 of the Meet Your Match series from author Rachel Anderson.  Her work has been featured on the site before and received with much fanfare (having been the reader and reviewer, I can say that with most sincerity), but how would this installment turn out?  I mean it has cowboys...something I'm not particularly big on (last bout with Susan Mallery's rancher - Zane! - excluded).  Only one way to find out and find out I did.  Ready or not, here comes today's ebook of choice...

About the book...
Home for the summer, Samantha Kinsey steps into her role as nanny for her two favorite little charges. But when she realizes she'll be playing chauffeur more than playmate, her summer outlook quickly turns from fun to bleak. That is, until she meets Colten McCoy--a genuine, hard-working cowboy, who's as set in his ways as he is handsome. Although he claims he doesn't need any spontaneity in his life, Sam's determined to help him find it. But she'll soon discover that cowboys are about as easy to change as wild mustangs.

So, I initially forgot to add this to my "current reads" list when I started...because I was so caught up in the story. Does THAT tell you anything? Well, it should and I'm about to tell you a little more.

Sam and Colten blend like oil and water...only with a LOT of shaking and for a limited time, but it doesn't mean they can't be a match made in heaven (or in this case, on the range).  I loved Samantha's bright, cheery, nothing-can-stop-me-now attitude; something I wish I could borrow a little more of from time to time.  She's creative, smart, with understated beauty (according to friends, family, and potential love interests) a good head on her shoulders to help guide her heart.  Colten on the other hand is Mr. Practical who may be easy on the eyes but that comes with a stubborn streak and a no-nonsense attitude that could certainly send some fillies running for the hills.  Despite that serious exterior though, he's got a heart of gold.

She craves wide open spaces; he the tether that family roots can provide.  When they get together though, it's...okay, well it's not magic at first but there is definitely potential.  Given time, they should find their way...but she leaves in a few months for a can't-pass-this-up career opportunity far far FAR away from the range.  Can they sort through their feelings before it's too late?  You'll have to read it to find out, but trust me the journey is part of the overall power of this story.

Outside of the main leads, you get to meet the other kind souls inhabiting this little corner of the US of A.  From the amazing little girl (so grown up now!) named Kajsa who is discovering her natural abilities with horses extend much further than simply riding to the mustang that refused to be tamed by the man, but a little girl...perhaps, there is something to warm the heart, tickle the soul, and just leave you with a smile.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a sweet (clean) romance with room for banter and fun, you'll want to add this one to your "to read" list pronto...as well as the whole series for that matter (which just so happens to have been recently released in a set!).  The writing is smooth, the story never leaves you hanging, and the situations real world enough to wish for your own on the range adventure.  It's got everything you need to pass a summer afternoon quite delightfully but with enough spark to keep it interesting.  Recommended read for older teen through adult Contemporary Romance and/or Chick-Lit fans.

About the author...

A USA Today bestselling author, Rachael Anderson is the mother of four and is pretty good at breaking up fights, or at least sending guilty parties to their rooms. She can't sing, doesn't dance, and despises tragedies. But she recently figured out how yeast works and can now make homemade bread, which she is really good at eating.
