RRR presents... TESS AND TATTOOS by H.A. Leuschel - REVIEW + GIVEAWAY!

Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, we're joining Rachel's Random Resources for a blog tour starring a curious novella by a new-to-me author.  It packs quite a punch in such a short span of pages and really takes you by surprise when all is revealed.  So, if you're ready to meet your next "wish list" read, may I present today's ebook of choice...

About the book...
A suspenseful and emotional novella exploring whether we can ever be free from our past mistakes.

In this story, the reader is taken on a compelling journey into the human mind where genuine friendship offers the key to inner peace.

Meet Tess, an elderly lady living in a care home apartment in the outskirts of Edinburgh, whose past is haunted by a wrong decision. She meets Nurse Sandra, a warm and bubbly single mother of three, who is instantly intrigued by Tess’s personality and the mystery that surrounds her.

‘Tess and Tattoos’ is one of five gripping stories in HA Leuschel’s story collection Manipulated Lives centred around psychological manipulation.

A curious short story with plenty of unexpected twists and surprises you aren't exactly prepared for, and yet quite moving with the darker aspects of life it covers.

Tess was a fairly extraordinary woman, as was Sandra in her own right, but they each faced uncertainties, and challenges that hopefully none of you (nor I!) will experience personally, coming out on the other side decidedly freer.  Was it an easy road?  No, decidedly not.  Was the outcome worth the journey?  I would have to say yes, despite the fact that I felt we were meeting the real Tess far too late in life, and that the relationship that blossoms between patient and caregiver while rewarding still seemed shrouded in self-doubt and half-truths.  Perhaps that's the truth of it all though; we never really know any other person...only the bits they let us see.  When the whole picture comes together, you don't love her any less, but you understand her more.
