In her existential crisis era.

Easy-going Megan Riley is hiding something. Years ago, a family tragedy left her with a fortune —and terrible survivor’s guilt. Even her inner circle doesn’t know her secrets. But her friends need an angel investor for their new app, and Megan has the cash. She’s thrilled to make their dreams come true, so long as she remains out of the spotlight. If only it were that easy.

Giving uptight vibes.

Straight-laced Luke Paris is in Nashville to market a new dating app. It’s a killer opportunity. Except he didn’t realize a friend group came attached. Luke is lousy at socializing and avoids small talk, but the enigmatic Megan immediately captures his attention. Fascinated and frustrated, he aches to know the authentic her. If only he could loosen up and get his foot out of his mouth.

Chat me up, baby.

On paper, Megan and Luke don’t match. Online, however, inhibitions vanish and “types” get redefined. The connection is real—and real hot. Can their steamy secret romance thrive IRL? Will dynamite digital chemistry survive its collision course with reality? Or will everything blow up in their faces?

First impression...
...a story about a billionaire hiding in plain sight for her own reasons, using their money behind the scenes for good, and living life to its fullest until the rug gets pulled out of from under her in the relationship arena, and she's thrown emotionally adrift. With good friends, and time, all will be well...or will it? It may be that she needs to shake the snow globe (totally a line from the book that so works!) up a bit and see what's uncovered.

Lasting impression...
... much the same, but add in an unexpected love interest, a little bit of 'You've Got Mail' movie type magic with a dirty twist, and a potential ever after that keeps shifting along the way. Her friends were fabulous, and not in the money sense, but what really matters... heart. Her connection with Luke was palpable, even if her mouth often borrowed the vocabulary of a sailor on leave. Her get to know you conversations with 'Wolf' on the infamous app were heated, yet honest... and when the big reveal came, while it wasn't a surprise for readers, I had to admit that Luke had real chutzpah to take the bull by the horns. The intimacy later on definitely surprised me with the direction it was taken, but to each their own; I'm not judging, though some readers may be more off put.

The true magic of this one is the message of learning to be yourself, no matter what that looks like and who approves. You'll find your people or person, if that's what you seek, but you have to be enough for yourself first before ever looking outward for validation. A great read for adult Romance and Romcom fans.

Not on the face of it a book that tempted me but, having read your thoughts on it, I'm thinking its deeper than I had first thought it was going to be whilst still being an 'easy' read {if that makes sense}
