RRR presents... BOOKED FOR SUMMER by Kathryn Freeman - REVIEW!

Welcome back to another bookish day here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!
Today's blog tour guest comes to us via Rachel's Random Resources, and features THE PERFECT SUMMER ESCAPE from an author whose works we've previously shared right here on the site.  It's got all the charm of a Contemporary Romance, the laughs of a Romcom, the high society sitch's of a Billionaire Romance, and a healthy dose of spice!  Ladies and gents, let's get between the epages of today's book of choice...

Booked for Summer
by
Kathryn Freeman

About the book...
A love story she didn't see coming…

When book lover Jade Taylor applies to manage the Little Bay Book Shack on Nantucket Island over the summer, the last thing she needs is the distraction of billionaire resort owner, Liam Haven.

But things take an unexpected turn when Liam becomes Jade’s boss – a man who only reads contracts for pleasure…

In a bid to save the bookshop from being absorbed into the Haven resort, Jade is determined to teach Liam that there’s more to life than acquiring real estate. And if she can make him realise happily ever afters do exist, might she be able to save the island’s bookshop in the process?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was drawn in by the title because HELLO who doesn't love a quirky title with a bookish edge?  I dove into the story thanks to the cover because you've got to love the charm that's imbued in the setting, and the potential for sparks to fly between the two leads pictured.  You can just sense it!  I stayed for the story because I was definitely not disappointed!
From the moment we meet Jade, you just know that you're going to love her free spirited yet sensible self.  Okay, so I know that sounds like a contradiction, but what I mean is that she's definitely a free spirit, yet due to recent circumstances (like butt-head exes that aren't worth their weight in ANYTHING!), she's trying to change her ways.  A 3 month stint in a GORGEOUS setting as a bookstore manager by the sea....OMG.  Sounds like HEAVEN, and it totally translates from the page to the imagination.  *happy sigh*  Anywho, I was rooting for her the entire time.  She was finding her way, and, despite the bumps and misdirects, she was bound to discover her own personal happily-ever-after because she was just that person.  She never gave up.  She never let the fear of embarrassment hold her back from doing what she wanted, or discovering her future.  Liam was the typical billionaire mogul, and yet decidedly not.  He wasn't born into it; he built himself up from the ground to the yachts and hotels and real estate he now possesses.  What he doesn't have is a good relationship with relationships, and yet the unexpected acquaintance turned something more is occupying more of him brain, more of his time that he could have ever anticipated.  Will she turn his head enough to save the bookstore from ruin?  Can't spoil that surprise for you, but trust me when I say it's worth every moment!
A great addition to your summer reading list and a fun release from an author whose works we've grown to love!  Don't miss out on booking your summer with this delightful (and hot!) tale!
RRR presents... Was It Good For You? by Kathryn Freeman - REVIEW!
An interesting question posed by today's title in the review spotlight, and it has an equally interesting answer. Ladies and gents, great to have you back as we welcome two site favorites, Rachel's Random Resources and author Kathryn Freeman as she tours her latest Romcom release that's ready and waiting for a reader like you! Don't believe me? Well then, let's get moving on today's post to see if we can't convince you...
Was It Good For You?
by
 Kathryn Freeman
About the book...
If you’re not a ten on Sophie’s spreadsheet, you’re never getting her between the bedsheets…
No aspect of Sophie’s life goes unrecorded in her Excel spreadsheets, so when she accidentally sends it to her entire contact list 9 of just her best friend, Sophie has a lot of uncomfortable explaining to do.
First on the list? Dr Michael Adams. After a disastrous first date, Michael scored a ‘3’ on Sophie’s ‘love life’ tab, but when she shows up to apologise for sharing his result with the world, he issues an unexpected challenge: ten dates to prove that love can’t be calculated by an equation or contained by boxes on a spreadsheet.
Sophie isn’t someone who’s used to thinking outside the digital box, but there’s something about Michael that makes her want to take a chance…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Rating your dates for compatability, looks, sense of humor, timing, and using the average of the scores attained to decide if another date is worth your time. Sound callous? Clinical? Maybe not as much in today's world as it would have a few years back, what with all the dating apps and what-not, but it certainly takes the heart out of the equation...

The logic behind her "crime" (word to the wise, don't send texts/emails in a hurry... especially with attachments!) totally makes sense! I mean, who wants to put all their effort into a relationship that's just not going to go anywhere? Especially in today's go go go world? But, then again, relationships aren't just based on cold hard facts because if they were, there would be no truth to the "love is blind" adage of old. There's something that doesn't factor into equations, and formulas, and that's a realization that hits hard after a few of the agreed to dates between these two, where the sparks can be felt, but not measured...at least outwardly. Seeing them grow together, fall apart, and (*spoiler, but not really*) make their way towards being together again was heartwarming. Watching the realization dawn on them both about the pros and cons of a spreadsheet organzied life was both cringe worthy and laugh out loud. Enjoying the HEA was all it was meant to be and more.

A great add to your end of summer reading list, or anytime you need a pick me up with a little laughter and a little love!

About author Kathryn Freeman...

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to write a book. It may have had something to do with my obsession with reading romance. Real life interfered and I headed off in a different direction – into the world of science, becoming a pharmacist before joining the pharmaceutical industry. I did end up writing, but it was about disease and medicines. Decades later, I’m finally doing what I always wanted to do.

With a husband who asks every Valentine's Day whether he has to buy a card (yes, he does), all the romance in my life is in my head. Then again, his unstinting support of my career change proves love isn't always about hearts and flowers - and heroes come in many disguises.

RRR presents... Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner by Kathryn Freeman - REVIEW

Hi guys!
I'm trying a slow turnabout to my old format, at least with my post titles, but emphasis on the SLOW because I don't want Blogger unpublishing my post, so if you notice a difference, you're not wrong! Just, you know, keep it on the down low 😉.

Today on the blog, we welcome two favorites to the site as we feature the latest from author Kathryn Freeman, currently touring with Rachel's Random Resources.  See?  I told you there were two favorites!  If you haven't read a book by this author yet....why...but seriously, pick a title, and just GO WITH IT because you're in for a treat!  Like this one...

Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner
by
Kathryn Freeman

About the book...
Not an expert, not even close, not in any of this.
But nobody will try harder than me to make you happy.

Sally is a classic romantic and Harry is a classic cynic, but when a drunken bet leads the new flatmates to (badly) recreate ‘the lift’ from Dirty Dancing, and the video goes viral (#EpicRomcomReenactmentFailure), they both realise there’s potential financial benefit in blundering their way through the romcom lexicon for their suddenly vast social media following.

Now, as Harry and Sally bring major romcom moments to new life – including recreating that classic diner scene – their faking it turns to making…out and suddenly they’re living a real life romcom of their own! But like all the greatest love stories, the road to happily ever after is paved with unexpected challenges for this hero and heroine…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From the quirky title (LOVE IT!) to the humorous, yet iconic lift scene on the cover (you know you know what romcom movie it's from!), you can't help but feel your heart skip a beat, and a smile spread across your lips for the story within...and that's before you even read anything about it!
The story is sorta grumpy-sunshine with all the goodness of the romcom's that have come before it.  If you've ever watched your favorite...let's say the obvious one with the lift scene...and thought that would be SO COOL in real life...these two are about to prove you...wrong, but with a serious humorous twist, and the beginnings of some major sparkage!  I mean seriously, what does that scene mean to you?  Are you there for the romance, freedom, growth, and confidence, like Sally?  Or are you simply thinking that you are witnessing a moment of brut strength that any muscular person could pull off, like Harry?  I know I'm with the first camp, and probably most of you are joining me in it, but reading about it being pulled off in "real life" definitely plays out more as expected! 🤣  Then, there's the unexpected, well for them, not me.  I had a feeling from the word go about these two, but it's always fun to watch how it all plays out, which brings me to the writing...
A great idea remains just that, an idea, without a great writer to turn samesaid idea into something worth reading!  This author has proven time and time again that she knows what it takes to grab romcom fans by the heartstrings and have us following along the pages like the little furry friends did the Pied Piper.  You just can't help yourself...and, in truth, you really don't want to!  I'd recommend this book, nay this author, as a great add to your must read list during this month of love, or really anytime you want a story to simply self indulge in, feel the love in, and belly laugh with along the way.  If you've read this one, tell me...which reenactment was YOUR favorite?  Was there one you wished to see?
Quickly becoming one of my go-to author's for Contemporary Romance, this time around she brings us an exotic locale, leads that go together like chalk and cheese, and a HEA that is well worth all the snipes, snark, and heated looks. Yes, my friends, you're in for a treat, so pack your bags for Italy as we step between the epages of today's ebook of choice...
The Italian Job
by
Kathryn Freeman
About the book...
Dream job. Dream house. Fake fiancé.
A year in a gorgeous Italian castle…
…With the last man on earth she’d choose!
The castle owners will only accept a couple as caretakers, which means Anna needs a man on her arm at the interview. Enter her neighbour, Jake Tucker. Though Anna and Jake have never seen eye-to-eye, Jake’s had a rough few years and an escape to Italy sounds ideal. Yet, when they get the job and jet off, Anna and Jake face an unexpected challenge. Pretending to be a couple is difficult … but pretending the tension simmering between them doesn’t exist is quickly proving impossible!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Anna and Jake.
They may have grown up next door to each other...but they're definitely not harboring any secret feelings, dreams, or desires starring each other.
At least...not yet.

When first we meet Anna, she's a girl on a mission...to escape the h*ll she's wallowing through. Her a**hat of an ex did a number on her professionally, personally, and mentally...and she's sinking fast. Oh sure, on the outside she presents a good front, but we all know it's what's on the inside that counts and that currently looks like the salesroom floor of a high end retailer having a closeout sale. She just needs a break from it all, and with her dad's advice...she just might get it. The chance she takes is more than a fresh start, but a chance to find her self again...and maybe a new star for her happily ever after in the form of the last person she'd ever have considered.

Meet Jake...the last person Anna would have ever considered. It's not that he's bad, despite his reputation, prison stay, and bad boy looks. He's...misunderstood...and as much as he would protest, he doesn't really know himself all that well either. He loves his family, would do anything for them (hence the jail time, but it's not what you think), and is an all around good soul. Just because he finds joy in winding up his next door neighbor, watching her squirm when he tests that invisible line, gives her hairbrained scheme a chance so she can chase a dream, and can't explain away how she's gotten under his skin doesn't mean he's gone soft. It doesn't mean the BIG L-word either. It just means he's a good guy that needs a second chance in SO MANY ways, and a year stay in a castle, yeah...that couldn't hurt either. Guess he can stand her company if it means a new lease on life...or something like that.

The sparks were there, even when they were throwing the lightning rods at each other like Zeus in a temper. Neither was as bad or good as they imagined, and both had life lessons that hit them upside the head with the force of a two by four, but it didn't make them scarred and unlovable, but rather even more compatible, if they can get past themselves, and the idiotic interferences surrounding. I had a bad feeling when Rutherford kept popping up. I mean his circle of friends, the extent of his influence just seemed like a big red light screaming in the dark, so when things get hairy, I can't say I was completely surprised, but boy did I enjoy the ending! Sorry, can't spoil it, and you shouldn't want me to either because that just makes this Italian escape perfectly complete.

A great read for Contemporary Romance fans and those who love a little enemies to something more than story line, and another wonderful addition to this writer's body of works.

RRR presents... THE BEACH READS BOOK CLUB by Kathryn Freeman - REVIEW!

Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, we’re on tour with Rachel’s Random Resources latest book-abration featuring author Kathryn Freeman’s latest Contemporary Romance release! It’s a wonderful add to the genre and the perfect way to bid adieu to summer and hello to fall...because it’s coming, I can feel it (just not weather-wise as of yet)! Join me as we join a colorful collection of characters for what promises to be a fabulously good time in today’s ebook of choice…

The Beach Reads Book Club
by
Kathryn Freeman

About the book...
Welcome to the Beach Reads Book Club…where love is just a page away…

When Lottie Watt is unceremoniously booted out of her uptight book club for not following the rules, she decides to throw the rulebook out the window and start her own club – one where conversation, gin and cake take precedent over actually having read the book!

The Beach Reads Book Club soon finds a home for its meetings at Books by the Bay, a charming bookshop and café owned by gorgeous, brooding Matthew Steele, and as the book club picks heat up, so too does the attraction between Matt and Lottie.

If there’s anything Lottie has learned from the romances she’s been reading, it’s that the greatest loves are the ones hardest earned.

A love letter to chicklit, romance, romcoms, whatever you want to call them!

AMAZON US | UK

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I meant what I said, it’s the PERFECT way to while away a late summer afternoon! You’ve got good friends, a great venue, a fabulous book club not afraid to read what they want, a great leading lady, and a hunky yet bookish leading man! There are smiles to be shared, awkwardness to get around, feelings that need revealing, and enough excuses thrown up as road blocks that a state trooper would have a hard time getting around them, but in the end, these folks are there for each other through think and thin. Once you’re a member of the Beach Reads Book Club, you’re a friend for life!
Lottie was a doll! She was fiercely independent, stubborn, vivacious, and business smart. She led with her heart instead of her pocketbook and while it might not have netted her millions, everyone thinks a million of her. She can make a friend out of a stranger in no time flat...something experienced with a certain bookshop owners curmudgeonly father and samesaid owner’s sister. She can prize a smile out of the most unlikely candidates, yet has the backbone to demand to stand on her own two feet. Her heart takes the hit sometimes when it’s put out there first, but if she didn’t live that way, she wouldn’t be her and the world would be sadder for it. Matt was awkward, but sweet; hard to figure out yet trying so hard for everyone involved. He picked himself up after heartbreak hit home, and strove to make good on their family promise to his mother. It wasn’t easy, and there were more than a few bumps along the way, but he was determined to make it work and with a wing, a prayer, and Lottie’s help, he just might have a chance. Seeing these two come together, slowly but surely, was smile inducing, and the time it took might be frustrating to some, but I found it sweet and realistic. True, at one point I wanted to smack them both upside the head and be like will you please get it together, but things had to brew in their own time, making the final outcome that much sweeter.
All in all, a fabulous bookish read for Chick Lit, Rom Com, and Contemporary Romance fans that I’d certainly recommend...and I wouldn’t mind imagining myself into their little group. Good friends, great laughs, and books...what more could you want!
RRR presents... MR. RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET by Kathryn Freeman - REVIEW!
Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Today, we're joining Rachel's Random Resources for a stop along their current tour featuring the latest from author Kathryn Freeman.  It's a Contemporary Romance that will have you swooning like a girl who's shown her ankle in Victorian times, only you'll be in the modern world and still passing notes like in grade school.  Trust me, it's SO MUCH SWEETER than that just made it sound, but let's get the intros out of the way first.  Ladies and gents, today's ebook of choice...
Mr. Right Across the Street
by
Kathryn Freeman
About the book...
Mia Abbott’s move to Manchester was supposed to give her time and space from all the disastrous romantic choices she’s made in her past. But then the hot guy who lives opposite – the one who works out every day at exactly 10 a.m., not that Mia has noticed thank-you-very-much – starts leaving notes in his window-…for her.
Bar owner Luke Doyle has his own issues to deal with but as he shows Mia the sites of her new city he also shows her what real romance looks like for the first time. And when he cooks up a signature cocktail in her honour, she realises that the man behind the bar is even more enticing than any of his creations. And once she’s had a taste she knows it will never be enough!
They've both been burned by love.
They've both accepted that it's just not in the cards for them.
They're both finding a way to be happy with their lot in life.
They've both...been...wrong.
She had a hella crazy ex, along with a string of other bad choice exes, that have turned her heart from love.  He had a chance at forever, but had his heart handed to him, and is still trying to staunch the wounds that simply won't heal.  She buried herself in her work, ran away to a new town for a new start, and is trying to protect herself from any of love's mess ever again.  He's the fun time guy that'll boost your ego, but dreams of the long-term variety best be forgotten.  Lucky for both of them love can find you when you least expect it because boy oh boy does cupid strike gold with these two!
I admit it, you're left forever guessing in the will they won't they game, but it's oh-so-worth-it in the end!  Her reluctance to let anyone really in is understandable, as is her lack of ability to be contacted, but it just makes the route that their conversations take that more feasible, appealing, and down right SWEET!  Seriously, messages in windows...that's all I'm gonna say, but really, just...
...aww!
It made my little heart melt, and then beat oh so much faster as things picked up, but really, the journey for them was filled with second guessing, and attempted sabotage, that lead to the best sort of ending you could hope for.  What was it?  Nope.  Not telling.  You've got to read it to get the full scoop, but if you're a fan of Contemporary Romance, and love the supposed underdog have their day, this one is TOTALLY for you!
RRR presents... A LITTLE CHRISTMAS HOPE by Kathryn Freeman - REVIEW!
HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Today, we're teamed up with Rachel's Random Resources to bring you a little bit of Christmas spirit care of author Kathryn Freeman's latest Contemporary Romance.  It's got star appeal, in more ways than one, and really captures the feelings of the season in some unexpected ways.  Curious?  Great!  Then let's get to it because it'll be the night before Christmas before you know it, and I intend to get this title on your MUST READ list this season!  Ladies and gents, now taking centerstage, today's blog tour guest and ebook of choice...
A Little Christmas Hope
by
Kathryn Freeman
About the book...
Newly promoted head teacher Anna Dalton needs a Christmas miracle – and fast! After years of sitting through excruciatingly dull Christmas productions, complete with crying children and sleeping parents, she’s determined Riddlescomb Primary School will put on a Nativity to remember.
Enter bad boy actor Dan Ramsey, recently axed from the lead role in a TV drama and in desperate need of cleaning up his image or he’ll never work again.
Dan can flash those heart-stopping dimples all he likes, Anna tells herself she isn’t going to fall for them. She knows why he’s decided to volunteer at the school, and it’s for the good of his career…not his soul.
But as Anna and Dan are forced to work together for the sake of a truly magical Christmas for the children, sparks fly and they can’t help but wonder what will happen once the festive season is over…
AMAZON  US  |  UK
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It's the most wonderful time of the year...for most.  For down and out actor Dan Ramsey, it's a lot less jolly.  He's been axed from his recent claim to fame, he's on the outs with his son, and his agent thinks the best way to squeaky clean up his public persona, is to give back to the masses.  In this case, we're talking about heading back to school, or at least elementary days, to give a few pointers to the next generation of Hollywood stars in the making.  Doesn't sound TOO bad, despite it not being a magic wand waved to fix all his problems...but little does he know that a Christmas "angel" (or two!) will be helping him find his way back to himself this holiday, and perhaps (if given the chance) right into the new year!

Enter one headmistress, Anna Dalton.  She's new to her position, but she wasn't born yesterday, so when Dan shows up at the school (LATE!), she can see him for what he really his...a down and out actor looking to use the school as a means to an end.  She may not like it, but she's accepted it, so long as he keeps his promises to the kiddos he'll be influencing.  Thing is...she may be getting more than she bargained for.  After all, it's not every day we meet our TV star crushes.  It's not every day that they are so much more charming when they are off their game than their public persona.  It's not every day that we have the chance to help someone that seems completely out of our league with a problem they have no idea where to begin with...and perhaps rekindle something within ourselves in the process.  Five years is a long time to be without another soul to share life's ups and downs, triumphs and struggles, and all those intimate moments.  But is she getting herself set up for a big fall or are the blushes and warm feelings more than the spirit of the season?

Okay, now that I've basically rewritten the synopsis in grandiose form, I just have to say that I really loved this!  Despite being a big star (former or slightly fallen), Dan felt human.  Anna was a star in her own right, but even she revealed that relateable side where logic doesn't always prevail and the heart wants what it wants.  Things weren't ideal in either of their lives, but it took finding each other to really see the flaws in their self built walls.  Good thing love has been known to break down any boundary...but then again, one has to be open to the possibility of it and these two definitely have a little timing to work out!

All in all, a wonderful story that will give your heart a smile this holiday season for all the right reasons.  If you need a little Christmas, I suggest you check this one out post haste!

RRR presents... STRICTLY COME DATING by Kathryn Freeman - REVIEW!

 Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, we're welcoming back the ever fabulous Rachel's Random Resources as we shine the bookish spotlight on the latest title from author Kathryn Freeman.  It's a Contemporary Romance that'll really sweep you off your feet.  So let's get ready to RUMBA as we dive between the pages of today's blog tour guest and ebook of choice...

Strictly Come Dating

About the book...
Saturday nights are strictly for dancing…

As the glitter ball shimmers and sequins flash, forty-year-old Maggie remembers the pull of the dancefloor. But now, as a newly divorced mum of two, Maggie’s certain her dancing days are over. Or are they…?

Encouraged by her friends, Maggie dusts off her silver stilettoes and enrols for dancing classes, all she needs now is the perfect partner.

Enter Seb. Young, carefree and hot as hell, Seb is definitely a perfect 10! Even though everything about him is outrageously inappropriate! But as Seb sweeps her across the dancefloor every week, Maggie begins to see a new side to him; kind, caring, funny, strong.

And Maggie realises that he’s the only one she’d like to foxtrot with…perhaps even forever.

Think So You Think You Can Dance ...but with a Contemporary Romance story to build all the tension, the potential drama, and the feelings you really need to make that routine SHINE!  Add a twist on the May September type couple, two darling little girls, a few feisty seniors, and a gaggle of pre-teens that meddle just as much...and you've got the makings of this story set to dazzle and enchant!

I was listening to Dan + Shay while reading portions of this and..."...girl I wanna be what keeps you up at night..." just struck me as a very appropriate line for our boy Seb!  Yes, he's the younger one in this equation, which doesn't raise other eyebrows as much as it does our leading lady's, but he's not one to give up when his heart is fully engaged.  You see, it lacked direction for most of his life, flying by the seat of his pants, living on a pontoon boat over the Great Barrier Reef, and just generally taking life by the...horns, and truly living in the moment.  But...something about Maggie has his feet feeling less itchy, his mind less wandering, and his soul feeling...content.  Now, if he can just get her on the same page, they'll be two stepping in no time!

Maggie is wary with good reason.  She doesn't want to mess up her friendship with his sisters, nor does she want to get her heart in a tangled mess again after her marriage ended in a less than lovely manner...but the age gap is also giving her pause.  Can she let go enough to listen to her heart instead of just her mind and enjoy the moments given?  Can she fathom forever possibly being an option with this wandering soul?  The lists of questions she creates in her mind are endless, but only time will tell whether they end up in sync, or with crushed hearts AND toes (because yeah...a dance competition also happens which could go either way!).

In the end, I'd give it a 9.5 out of 10! Very entertaining, heartfelt, and yet realistic. Age gap romances when flipped the other way aren't generally even blinked at but put the woman older than the man and all of a sudden you've made news! These two though...make serious sparks, both on and off the dance floor, and that chemistry, that ability to be in step with each other could just see them making a go of something they never saw coming.  Recommended for Contemporary Romance fans to put a skip in your step and a flutter in your heart!

RRR presents... UP CLOSE & PERSONAL by Kathryn Freeman - REVIEW!

HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, we're got Rachel's Random Resources back again with another fabulous tour featuring a new Romantic Comedy for your reading pleasure, and this time, the roles are reversed!  That's right, and no one is telling this gal what to do because she "wears the pants" so to speak (or at least is more graceful/comfortable in them!).  Lights, camera, action...as we take on today's ebook of choice and blog tour guest...

Up Close & Personal
by
Kathryn Freeman

About the book...
British actor Zac Edwards is the latest heartthrob to hit the red carpets. Hot, talented and rich, he sends women wild…all except one.

Close protection officer Kat Parker hasn’t got time to play celebrity games.  She has one job: to protect Zac from the stalker that seems to be dogging his every move.

Zac might get her hot under her very starched collar, but Kat’s a professional – and sleeping with Zac is no way part of her remit…

Feeling life is out to get you?
Getting a little unwanted attention from that "special" someone?
If you're the current BIG THING of Hollywood, then you might just need a bodyguard to help protect you and yours.  Meet Kat Parker!  Just the WOMAN for you...

Business Team Silhouettes Vector Posing Bodyguard Secret Agent ...

I know it's a little sexist, but most automatically think MAN when it comes to the bodyguard profession, but, like they imply with the double entendre in the story, it's not about the size, but what you do with it.  *wink wink*  Kat is a wonderful character.  Kind and compassionate, can get all dolled up or dressed way down and still hold her own personal swagger, all while keeping the surrounding situation in check.  She's a strong woman in a man's world, and that's just the way she likes it.  She has her priorities straight, and a great work ethic, which was totally iron clad until a certain sexy celebrity became her client.  She took the job, heck she WANTED the job, but it wasn't to become starstruck.  Kat wanted to help this person out of a bad situation.  She wanted to see justice brought to the wronged, and consequences catch up to those doing the wronging...and yes, she's a professional, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

Zac Parker, on the other hand, is not your typical celebrity.  He accepts his fame, but his past is definitely hiding something.  The what is a long time coming in this one, so don't expect to get to it any time soon, but trust me...the reveals are worth the wait.  Now, speaking of worth the wait...the chemistry between Kat and Zac is off the charts, but it's mostly charm, a lot of wit, and definitely longing.  Lines are blurred, but the crossing...well, if he had his way there'd be no lines, and truth be told so would she, but again PROFESSIONALISM demands decorum, and lives do truly depend on her having a clear head to uncover the culprit while protecting the mark.  Just how she'll truly protect her heart is another story altogether.

In the end, I loved the concept, adored the characters, and while I could have done with a bit faster pace, everything turned out all right in the end.  So if you're looking for a little taste of Hollywood with all the drama you can handle in oh so many lovable and laughable forms, add this Rom Com to your must read list today!
