About the book...
The Infinite Glade is the explosive finale of The Maze Cutter trilogy—and the epic conclusion to The Maze Runner saga.

War has finally ignited. The Remnant Nation is done waiting. Their mission: destroy the Godhead and everything she stands for. But as Sadina and the islanders fight to protect the Goddess—who claims to be their only hope for Evolution’s survival—the battle reveals unfathomable truths leaving behind devastation that will change the islanders’ future forever.

Determined to save their friends, Isaac and Ximena—along with Old Man Frypan and Jackie—struggle to find their way back to the others when two strangers intercept them, throwing everything they thought they knew about the Cure into doubt. Following the strangers into the unknown, Frypan unearths the shocking truth behind the Cure and the secrets so many have died to protect. But what they uncover is only the beginning.

The descendants must decide between risking their lives and the safety of those they love back home to expose the painful truth behind the maze trials, or walk away from history’s darkest secrets and let the truth remain buried in the Glade forever.

● □ ● ■ ● □ ● ■ ● □ ●

The first book... we're brought back to the island with which the original series ended. We meet families, and friends, and generations that grew up in relative safety without influence from the outside. But the one thing that never goes away and can always be counted on to crop up at the most unexpected (and unwelcome) of times is change... and it arrives here by the boat load.

The second book... we've traveled far from what we know, met people we've never imagined, and sought means to meet an end we didn't even know to look for. Division in the ranks began, and there are several agendas being served, but the goal of a cure, of helping others however they can, is still shining faintly in the distance.

The third book. Today's featured book. The one that just came out this past week and is ready and waiting for you to scoop up for a read. This book brings everything full circle, reveals things that were buried so deep they might never have seen the light of day, answers questions readers may not have even known to have that were raised in the original trilogy, and settles us somewhere between fully satisfied yet desirous of more. Oh yes, it ends and it's well worth the read... all the moments where your breath was held, that had you puzzling, hoping, and reaching for more...but do you get everything you're wanting...I think that depends on the reader, depends on the level of investment you give to what you're reading.

 I liked it, but could've used more. I had unanswered questions, curiosities I wanted to see play out, and quite frankly wasn't ready to let them go. These relationships have been built to last, despite the body count rising significantly in this one, and I was fully invested. Now, the ending worked, don't get me wrong, and many get their comeuppance deservedly, but I know I'll still be thinking about this one for quite a while to come!

A great trilogy for fans of the original series, but an equally great way for new fans to cut their teeth (so the speak) on a story they won't forget.

Happy BOOK BIRTHDAY to SOULMATCH by Rebecca Danzenbaker - REVIEW!

🥳 Happy BOOK BIRTHDAY to SOULMATCH by @rebeccadanzenbaker ... out today via Simon Teen!

About the book...
The Selection and Matched meet Scythe in this gripping, high concept debut YA novel.

Two hundred years after World War III, the world is at peace, all thanks to the soul-identification system. Every eighteen-year-old must report to the government to learn about their past lives, a terrifying process known as kirling.

Good souls leave the institute with their inheritance, a career path, and if they’re lucky, a soulmate. Bad souls leave in handcuffs. It’s a nerve-wracking ordeal for Sivon, who, given her uncanny ability to win every chess match, already suspects her soul isn’t normal. Turns out, she was right to worry. Sivon’s results stun not only her, but the entire world, making her the object of public scrutiny and anonymous threats.

Saddled with an infuriating and off-limits bodyguard, Sivon is thrust into a high-stakes game where souls are pawns and rules don’t exist. As deaths mount, Sivon must decipher friend from foe while protecting her heart against impossible odds. One wrong move could destroy the future lives of everyone Sivon loves, and she can’t let that happen, even if they’ll never love her back.

💙 💜 💙 💜 💙 💜 💙 💜

Honestly, I was pulled in by the description, but I stayed for the content. It really does itself justice with the initial "for fans of" recommendation because I actually forgot about the mention of MATCHED, and that's what I was totally vibing on while I was reading. It brought me back to one of my first ARCs and the delicious way the story unfolded. It was slow, but not so much that you lost interest. Instead, that careful cantor served to lay the foundation for greatness ahead as you built relationships with the characters, and got tangled up in their lives... past, present, and potentially future. 😉

It's a fascinating concept with so many societal pluses and minuses to debate I won't even get into all that here, but rather I'll firmly recommend this title to you and then we can "battle" it out! 🙃

AWARENESS TOUR: ForeverChild by Mark Lavine

Today, we're taking on a BIGGER title currently touring the blogosphere with The Children's Book Review! It's bigger because generally we're working with Picture Books or Chapter Books on these tours, but not today! This time, we've a part dystopian, part sci-fi Young Adult novel that really makes you think, while pulling you right into the story.  Ladies and gents, today's AWARENESS TOUR featured title...

Mark Lavine
Ages: 13-18 | 315 Pages
Publisher: Mark Lavine (2022)
ISBN-13: 9798218130947

About the book...
What if you could live hundreds of years – but never age?

In the year 2315 you can live for hundreds of years and never age past eleven. That is, if you’re one of the lucky ones. But the not-so-lucky ones are disturbingly close, and they’re threatening your safety, security, and even your deepest beliefs. Soon, it will be all-out war.

Among a chosen few, life expectancy is now hundreds of years; these are the forever children, and science has found a way to keep them in a nearly endless childhood state. Secure in their giant hives, they have left the outsiders, who must live natural lives, to fend for themselves.

This is the story of Kianno and Seelin, two youths who find themselves trading places in this strange new world, one leading the life of a forever child and the other growing up in the anarchy of the outside world.

Their lives come together in surprising and unexpected ways, as they both become involved in a fierce struggle between the two worlds.

Discover for yourself a future world of eternal childhood, and the nightmares and battles which erupt from this seemingly innocent society.

But the quest for endless youth comes at a cost.

How will Kianno and Seelin survive in this battle for eternal life?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This story hit me as a little bit Divergent, a bit of The Giver, and a whole lot of intrigue!
We begin with an unfortunate accident, part man-made, part nature made, that changes the lives of several people that day. Some are ended, some are altered for the better, and others are simply given a direction and told to go.  My heart broke with Sophia's as things unfolded, but I applaud her valiant efforts to try and connect once again.  When she finds "Seelin", it's the desperate cry of a mother's heart that he's answering more so than the feeling behind this name. As life continues, milestones are reached, but there's always an emptiness that aches and questions that need answers, and yet...
To bring attention to your self in this new community is to invite trouble. The Hive is there to provide consistency, nourishment, and longer lives...but at what costs? Is it merely experiences that are being forfeited? Is it more the things and situations that help us change and grow? People here are generally stuck as they are, but there are some that fight back. There are some that won't take these changes lying down. There are some that feel that breaking down the walls, and restoring order is priority number one, and they'll take any means necessary to achieve it.
All in all, an intriguing tale that takes you for a ride, and won't let go! You're presented with so many things that aren't far off the mark of what we can accomplish, but perhaps the better question is if we should? Playing god isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially when you're around for the fallout!
BOOK BINGE READING: Eleven Trilogy by Jerri Chisholm - TRIPLE REVIEW!
🪶 VICTORY AT ALL COSTS 🌅
Hi guys! I'm coming at you tonight with a triple threat via Entangled Teen! Penned by author Jerri Chisholm, the ELEVEN trilogy is in a word... PHENOMENAL!
Eve is a character you grow to love for her grit, for her nerve, for her tightly held dreams, and the tender heart buried beneath all the scars and toughness. She takes no prisoners, and won't be held down by anyone's rules, all while battling the entrapments that make her human. Things like hurt feelings, a desire for something more, a want of freedom, and at her lowest, revenge. I'm not saying there are those that don't deserve her rage, but there are certainly those that don't deserve the chances she gives them.
While Eve is our main character, there are plenty that share the spotlight. Take Wren. He was a Preme, someone from the higher floors, born and bred to be better than the rest, but he pushed back against that dictation. Still...he was someone I was constantly in flux over. I wanted to trust him. I wanted him to be the one for her... and yet, there were always these doubts lingering in the background, rearing their ugly head just when I'd grown comfortable. Then we have her Level 2 friends and fam... some more so than others. (*cough* like the misguided lovesick friend/traitor that I still haven't forgiven *cough*) Her own family was broken for SO MANY reasons, but the family she claimed, helped her be the strong person she was, while keeping what made her human alive.
ESCAPING ELEVEN (BK 1).... we're building the foundation, getting to know who's who, where they are, why they are, and the impossibility of the freedom of which she dreams. It's a blood soaked battle for survival EVERY DAY below ground, and she kicks some serious butt. Sometimes for the thrill of it, but most often to save someone else. Despite her hard edges, she knows right from wrong.
UNRAVELING ELEVEN (BK 2)...is as much about breaking down Compound ELEVEN as it is untangling her true self. Ever since their return, her and Wren, she's been a tangled up mess. Her feelings locked away, frustration bubbling over, and her temper acting as a ticking time bomb. Her feelings are warranted, and I can't say misdirected entirely, but if she doesn't gain control, she's bound to lose more than she ever dreamed.
ENDING ELEVEN (BK 3) ...just celebrated its BOOK BIRTHDAY and brings everything full circle. Eve is struggling with everything that happened, but still contemplating how to accomplish bringing down "the man"... while topside, humanity is starting to show, and I don't mean in the kindness between strangers. There is so much more at work here than meets the eye, but when all is said and done, truth prevails. It'll be violent, it'll be bloody, but it will usher in a new era, for better or worse.
This was so intense! It's not for the faint of heart, but the stalwart of spirit, and you won't be disappointed come book's end. There is so much more I could say, and so much I'd love to detail out, but I don't want to ruin the surprises and reveals along the way. Trust me, you just have to dive in feet first, and take the plunge!
Many thanks to Riki and the Entangled Publishing team for the ecopies for review! (THANKS!) For more information or to snag a copy of your own, click through the links embedded above.
Silver Dagger Book Tours presents... BLOOD NUMBERS by C.F. Kreitzer - SPOTLIGHT + GIVEAWAY!
Blood Numbers
by C.F. Kreitzer
Genre: YA Dystopian
There are only two kinds of people left on the earth: Donors and Recipients.
Sixteen-year-old Aston Vazeto hates the idea of selling her blood for money and is determined to be the first Donor in New World history to never donate.
But after a suspicious accident at her father's power plant leaves her family diving deeper into poverty, Aston has no other choice except to enter the annual blood auctions, where Recipients bid on the richest blood. With the highest test results ever seen, Aston’s blood becomes the most sought-after in history, and will likely bring a large price at auctions.
When her friends are caught tampering with their donations, they are arrested and tortured. Knowing she puts her family's safety and income at risk Aston takes advantage of an opportunity to escape donation facility drugs meant to keep Donors complacent. Free to feel and free to love she is caught between Gannet, a kind facility technician, and Marcus, a sarcastic rebel like herself. Dancing at Blood Auction Balls and kissing a donor in coat closets under the stairs has Aston confused between joining the uprising she hears rumors about or merely following the life her blood was meant to lead.
I grew up with a pretty normal childhood, running barefoot in the Appalachian mountains, playing with turtles and innocently killing them by leaving them on their backs so I could play house with them again the next day. I don't think I always dreamed of being an author. It was just something I did. I made up stories about my dead turtles. I named my fingers and let them battle out family feuds. I wrote about myself in my journal when what I wished would happen was better than what actually did (sorry, Mom for the scare. I still promise I never really snuck over to a party and kissed my brothers friend). What a wonderful surprise when something "I just did" suddenly became something others enjoyed. I'm so forever grateful to my publisher for giving me a chance to share my not-so-normal stories with the whole world.
TLC BOOK TOURS presents... THE INSURRECTION by Chris Babu!
HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Today, we're teaming up with TLC Book Tours to kick off the bloggy celebration starring a forthcoming release via Permuted Press!  It features the THIRD and FINAL BOOK of the Initiation from author Chris Babu, a Young Adult Dystopian series/trilogy you don't want to miss.  If you're familiar with the first two books, you KNOW you're in for a treat, and as I'm not one to deprive others, let's DO this!  Ready, set, let's welcome today's blog tour guest and book of choice...
The Insurrection
by
Chris Babu
Permuted Press
RELEASE DATE:  02/18/20
About the book...
Having survived the Initiation and expedition, one battle remains: the fight for the heart and soul of New America.
Drayden and his friends, enlisting the help of Professor Worth, must find a way back to New America before the Guardians imperil their return. But for these teens, their problems are only beginning. The Bureau, which never expected them to survive the expedition, will do everything in their power to prevent New America’s darkest secrets from getting out.
Drayden’s only hope is the insurrection led by ally Kim Craig. The David versus Goliath battle between good and evil, between truth and lies, will push Drayden to his breaking point and require bravery, self-acceptance, and above all, belief in himself. Backed by the will of the citizens, he’ll need to engineer an ingenious strategy to defeat the all-powerful authoritarians. The question is, will it be enough?
This was the story readers were waiting for...
  Here, we catch up with Dray, Charlie, Catrice, and Sidney, just after everything has gone down that went down in book two...and no, I won't spoil it for those that haven't read it.  So much has transpired, but so much is still in store for this motley crew that it's not even funny.  Okay, well some of it is, but more in the oh-my-gosh-we're-so-stressed-out-that-we're-more-than-a-tad-punchy sorta funny, than the HA HA HA kind.  I was beside myself through most of the story as I saw the girls trying SO HARD to score that money for the boat ride to save their families, Charles struggling to operate at full capacity after that hella bad accident, and Drayden hoping against hope that he could find his mother once again.  The bonds they forged thus far are seriously put to the test, but they're about to discover (with a little outside guidance along the way) that there is nothing they can't achieve when they put their hearts and minds to the task, and no danger is insurmountable when they have each other's backs.
In the end, it's filled with the unharnessed emotions of teenage-dom, responsibility beyond their years, dangers that would make the strongest Guardians quake in their camos, and an ending that you won't soon forget.   If you haven't had the pleasure of reading this trilogy as of yet, I highly suggest you start at the beginning and binge your way through.
About the author...
Rachel Churcher was born between the last manned moon landing, and the first orbital Space Shuttle mission. She remembers watching the launch of STS-1, and falling in love with space flight, at the age of five. She fell in love with science fiction shortly after that, and in her teens she discovered dystopian fiction. In an effort to find out what she wanted to do with her life, she collected degrees and other qualifications in Geography, Science Fiction Studies, Architectural Technology, Childminding, and Writing for Radio.
She has worked as an editor on national and in-house magazines; as an IT trainer; and as a freelance writer and artist. She has renovated several properties, and has plenty of horror stories to tell about dangerous electrics and nightmare plumbers. She enjoys reading, travelling, stargazing, and eating good food with good friends – but nothing makes her as happy as writing fiction.
Her first published short story appeared in an anthology in 2014, and the Battle Ground series is her first long-form work. Rachel lives in East Anglia, in a house with a large library and a conservatory full of house plants. She would love to live on Mars, but only if she’s allowed to bring her books.
