Taste Testing Tuesdays

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading

On the menu this week...one book that I am fast approaching the end (should be tonight, maybe tomorrow) and another I'm just about to dive into and YOU'RE getting the first taste!  Ready?  Set?  GO!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I stood on my tiptoes, scanning the crowd.  TV crews were scattered throughout the tent, some of their cameras trained on the stage, some of them conducting interviews with members of the congregation.  The whole place hummed with the energy of a beehive.  The dank heat created by so many bodies made my white clothes cling to my skin like plastic wrap.
-- pg 272, Struck by Jennifer Bosworth (ARC)
As I'm actually almost to this point in the book, now I want to read it all the faster because the sheer fact that she's in the tent and wearing all white makes me wonder just what is going down!  No really, you don't understand the possible significance of what you just read....trust me, you'd be curious too.
I still can't sleep.  I'm more than halfway through this little library book, the one I found a week ago in the shelf on the landing at the top of the stairs, slipped between Millay and my mother's Dylan Thomas collection.  'Selected Writings. The World I Breathe.  Adventures in the Skin Trade.'
My mother is, has always been, a Dylan Thomas freak.
--pg 70, Game of Secrets by Dawn Tripp
Hmm.  On one hand I'm lured in by the fact the whomever I'm reading about is a reader.  On the other hand, what's with the strangely titled book?  *-*  Curious...very curious.  Blog tour and review coming soon...stay tuned...
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Until next time....happy reading!
Great teasers.
Beehive is the word I used to describe a New York subway at rush hour.
It says sooo much.
Great teasers and Struck is so apt given the storms we've been having.
I'm curious about Struck. It sounds so interesting and I can't tell if it's paranormal or contemp. I'll be interested to see your review!
