Taste Testing Tuesdays

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading

On the menu this week...a children's fiction title that just so happens to be celebrating its bookish birthday today!  Ready for a taste? Here goes...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My name is Lindsay Marks.  I was born in San Francisco, California, at eight o'clock in the morning on July 13, 1988.  My mother said the sun was smiling on that day, but that I was not.
-- pg 29, Minnie McClary Speaks Her Mind by Valerie Hobbs (ARC)
Random page selected and I get this treasure!  Can't wait to learn more about Ms. Marks as those taht came before didn't last very long....and of course, I need to learn more about Minnie!  At times, she reminds me of...me.  Continuing the reading journey...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Until next time....happy reading!
This looks absolutely adorable! Is it a middle grade book? I'm eager to hear what you think of it, so far it looks like something I'd definitely pick up. :)
