About the book...
Eric may only be a little spider, but that doesn't stop him from having some big adventures!
When a spider, with big, long, spider legs, is spotted behind a curtain he seems a little scary. Luckily, he is quickly caught in a box full of socks and named Eric.
But when Eric steals the socks (and a bike!) and goes on the run it is up to a diligent policeman to find the right sock-footed spider, stop Eric and rescue the bike!
Join Eric on his adventures as he escapes with some socks, flees from a birthday party, and goes camping on a very, very wet day in this beautifully illustrated rhyming book.

This was quite the adventure...and I'm not just saying the because the lead is a teeny tiny but giant in his own right SPIDER...but because it's really THREE stories in one!
We start out with an introduction to our hairy "friend" as he peeks from behind a pair of curtains only to take off the next moment with his eight legs adorned in mismatched socks, "borrowing" a bicycle built for a biped (but that doesn't stop him!), and getting himself locked up. Yes, LOCKED UP! Well, what did you expect? That's what happens when you take what isn't yours, and parade around in mismatched socks and equally mismatched trainers. Make that be a lesson for you all... *giggle*
Next up, a camping trip...and if you think a spider can't have fun camping, you are ENTIRELY wrong. No, he's not scaring the daylights out of people, or simply hanging out in a corner weaving a home. No, our Eric is doing his own version of hang gliding, watersports, and even saving the day when his unprepared co-camper is being done in by the weather. Yep...it's amazing what one somewhat little guy can accomplish when he puts his head and eight legs to it.
Last but not least, we are invited to Eric's birthday bash...but apparently a particular party crasher was not, or at least his sheer size and species scares the daylights out of all the guests, including the star of the hour. What's a spider and his bug friends to do when someone that can feast on their very lives swoops in out of the dark? Continue the party? Dive for cover? Run for your life? It's a toss up and I'll let you find out for yourselves what Eric chooses, but suffice it to say, this story is a good reminder choose your party location wisely, and take responsibility for the messes you make.
All in all, I had a dandy time with Eric and friend (as they technically remain undisclosed allowing readers young and old, girl and boy, to claim the spot for themselves!), and I think kiddos will too. From the fun illustrations to the creative rhyming, there's a lot going on between the pages that will have you smiling, in stitches, or somewhere in between...and according to the end pages, there's still more to come!
