Are you an avid reader looking for your next "fix"? Can't bear to be without some form of reading material in your spare time? Welcome to my world! Whether you are seeking a new book to "feed your need", or you are an author seeking an unbiased point of view on your own recent masterpiece, this is the place to be. With life as with books, you never know where the next step might take you...

QUICK NOTE...Update: 10/10/19

Good news: We're back home! Bad news: It's like Apocalypse Heck Part III.

The one year Hurricane Michael anniversary is already here. Where did the time go...and yet it feels like forever. You don't realize how much you take for granted until it's all gone. I'm grateful my family/fur babies survived, and I know they are just "things", but sadly, in this life, those "things" help us get through every day. So yes, "happy" yet not. Every day is still a struggle...not just for my family, but so many others.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing my bookish adventures. It helps remind me I'm not alone in this crazy journey called life.

RRR presents...a DOUBLE Dose of Picture Book FUN with Full Media Ltd!

HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Happy Monday to you and yours!  I know, Monday has a bad rep, but think about it something else and the beginning of a typical work week is still "Monday" regardless, so you know...give it a chance!  Anywho...

Today we're joining Rachel's Random Resources for a DOUBLE dose of Picture Book fun with Full Media Ltd.  It's a branch of Full Proof that was formed in 2011 to bring delightful reading selections to the next generation as it were...or to those with simply wider reading habits and oodles of imagination (*raises hand*).  One deals with a common problem in a newish way, or at least from a new narrator, while the other presents a unique perspective on the whole bullying issues.  Intrigued?  Good...that was my aim.  Ready or not, here come today's titles of choice...

This was an adorable tale of one little sheep you simply COULD NOT go to sleep!  Whatever is a sheep to do?  I mean, they can't exactly count themselves...or can they?  Well, wonder no more as you follow Tansy on her quest to reach Dreamland, but be prepared for pitfalls along the way.  How so?  Well, let's just say that when we're needing sleep, sometimes the things we try don't turn out 100% perfect...which in this case leads to a potential disaster, possible rescue, and return of peace of mind in the end...along with a Tansy that is FINALLY able to catch some shut eye.  Just don't look at the rest of the flock, okay?  😉

A joyfully fun read at bedtime or anytime for kiddos of all ages with illustrations that will make you smile...and invite YOU to count along!

About the author...

Marion Adams has been writing for as long as she can remember, usually for fun and sometimes for money as well. She started her career as an in-house copywriter with a publisher and now works as a freelance proofreader and editor. It’s her dream job because she’s paid to read all day (and eat dark chocolate). Over the years, she’s written all kinds of things for both adults and children, some serious and some less so, with published work including magazine stories, articles, poems, plays and non-fiction books.

Marion lives in Devon, UK, and when she’s not reading or writing (or eating dark chocolate), she loves going for walks on the wild moors where her picture book Go To Sleep! is set.

About the book...
If you could change something about yourself, would you do it? When Sarah Simpkins is teased about her shadow in the school playground, she finds herself wishing she didn't have one. That night she has the chance to make the wish come true. But will losing her shadow really make her happy?

Harry Potter reference, anyone?  Couldn't resist!
When I thought of shadows, the three brothers story came to mind.

This is actually a fairly gentle way of addressing bullying, as the author has chosen something that everyone has, no one can change, and most likely, they've not been picked on about it...but it still gets its point across.  Sarah is bullied by the other kids about her shadow, and in turn makes a wish upon a shooting star for it to disappear...*POOF*.  Imagine her surprise when IT ACTUALLY DOES!  First, elation...they can't pick on her now!  Then, realization...if they find out she doesn't have one, what will they say?  Therein lies the eternal question as to whether we should have to change ourselves to please others, or simply love ourselves and cherish those that accept us as we are...if you've guessed the latter, you're a smart cookie indeed.

With colorful illustrations to capture the eye, the story is one for readers great and small...because sadly enough, bullying is not something only dealt with in childhood.
