So...which one is your favorite?
Hard to decide, right?
Exactly my thought!

I love the BRIGHT and COLORFUL images that each title contains.  I love the fact that they are all inclusive so that no little reader has to feel anything other than AMAZING choosing any of the three books to count away to dream land!  I love the clever riddles, and rhymes that fill each page, giving us a few words for our journey, but not too much to kick start our minds once again.  I love that each book as a who's who as it were in the very beginning, so that as you meet up with each unicorn, dinosaur, or elf along the way, you can recognize them as they play their part in the story!  I love how each one contains a little pearl of wisdom regarding the importance of a good night's sleep, whether it be for the big man in red, paleo adventurers, or those kissing unicorn's goodnight.

Each book is filled to the brim with enough imagination and creativity to usher wee ones off to sleep, while stoking the fires of their subconscious to create a dreamland of their own...not to mention the extra practice with numbers because SOMEONE has to count all those AMAZING friends we're introduced to on each page!  A great addition to family libraries to give a new spark to their bedtime reading routines, but I do believe the brilliant nature of the illustrations just might have little ones asking for these outside of nighttime hours as well!  Whether you're a fan of unicorns, dig dinos, or want to get in the holiday spirit, you can't go wrong with this cute and clever trio of stories!

REVIEW + GIVEAWAY starring... My Butt is So Christmassy! by Dawn McMillan

Tis the season, and deck the...butts?  Umm, yeah, about that...time to have The Children's Book Review pay another visit with a holiday title that will have little ones in an uproar!  It's the latest addition to the ever growing My Butt is...series, and today's AWARENESS TOUR is shining the light on the brightest ornament in the bunch.  So, if you're ready, get set, let's take a closer look at today's title in the spotlight...

by
Illustrated by
Ages 6+ | 32 Pages
9780486850696
Dover Publications

About the book...
This delightful rhyming story follows our inventive young hero as he dreams about dressing up his plain backside in something festive “with layers and layers of green, with baubles that glow, bows in a row, and a star where it’s easily seen!” Will he get his wish? Kids will find out as they giggle all the way through this sweet holiday story.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, we're BACK with another BUTT-iful title to review, and what a title it is!  We first met, or rather I first met, our unnamed little leading man in a Silly book, once upon a time.  Now, we gather once again at Christmas time, BUTT something doesn't feel quite right.  Is it the decorations?  Not exactly.  Is it the temperature?  Nope, Mother Nature is doing her thing.  Is it the family gathered round for the holiday celebration?  Pretty sure it's not.  Is it the roaring fire, comfy armchair, or hot cocoa waiting for us to indulge in?  Nope, nope, and nope.  As it turns out, it's his BUTT that doesn't seem to be in the holiday spirit.  So, he sets out to change that...with rather humorous attempts, and de-LIGHT-ful results!
Those results are joyous by twofold.  First, the story circles back around to the real meaning of Christmas, in a non-secular way, reminding us that it's a time of year for being with family and friends, and not focusing solely on ourselves.  The second...always a little boy with a rather unusual behind to radiantly share his Christmassy BUTT with the world come Christmas morning...but I'll let you discover just how it's done.
Definitely geared towards the younger set, and I'd wager a particularly popular choice with young lads as well, this holiday season make sure you catch the feeling...with every part!
About the book...
Everyone’s favorite character from I Need a New Butt!, I Broke My Butt!, and My Butt is So Noisy! is back in a hilarious new story about a silly butt that won’t stop moving! The talented duo of children’s author Dawn McMillan and illustrator Ross Kinnaird have created another delightful, laugh-out-loud tale of a bothersome backside that leads to all kinds of amusing adventures. The fun never stops, from the first page to the last of this newest book in the best-selling series.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is a story that I had a hard time getting...in more ways than one...BUTT once I ruminated a little more, and found the heart through the humor, I CRACKed a smile.  I must apologize in advance because yes, there will be behind jokes in this review, BUTT how can I resist?

The young boy with the overactive behind never has a name, but I think that just makes it easier for wee ones to step right into the role of main character.  The words on the page tell of his overactive derrière as he makes his way through life.  School is that much more MUSICAL.  Home is that much more BUTT-iful.  A rainy day in the park is just that much more a-BUTT-andantly splishy and splashy.  The main gist...he's a ram-BUTT-tious young man that can't quite remain still when the situation calls for it.  It's something seen often with kids...and admit it, adults too...because sometimes we just feel that need to move, groove, and make our presence known.  It's a curious way to get the point across to the younger generation, BUTT...if it works, it works!  What IS that message?  Well, the one I took from it was that while you should always be you, silly BUTT or not, there are some times, some places where decorum and manners must rule...and then when those have PASSED, they'll still be plenty of time and ways to let your true color fly!
