And Something Blue

And Something Blue
(Main Street Merchants #1)

Bridal consultant Laurie Fletcher spends her days helping others prepare for the most special day of their lives. Will true love ever come her way, or is she doomed to watch others get their happily ever after?

Though all of the reads were great (oops, spoiled THAT surprise), I think I enjoyed this one the most. The connections were unexpected.  There was plenty of spark, snark, and smiles to be had.  You got right into the small town, met the neighbors, made friends with their friends and were just one of the gang.  Logan was not the easiest love option for our dear Laurie and yet....something was there.  Something annoying and nagging, tripping over its own tongue as the wrong words constantly tried to fall from his mouth...and still touching and sweet, protective and kind.  I applaud her champagne over a certain someone's head scene as well as her silence is golden dinner with Logan.  In due turn, I must also applaud Logan's winning punch, though for what, or to whom I shan't reveal....as well as his ability to finally see the light.  In the end, it definitely doesn't leave you standing under the mistletoe alone.

For Love or Money

For Love And Money
(Main Street Merchants #2)

Cynical Morgan has just about decided that no one could possibly fall in love with her - all the good guys want perfect girls, and she's anything but perfect. But then along comes the guy who falls head-over-heels in love with her just as she is and helps her find the bright side of life again.

Being book two in a series, you expect a few things about the writing to be the same (check!), the story to be catching and sweet (check and check!), but you don't often run across the other characters.  In this book, you do!

The author worked the scenes that involved both Laurie from book one and Morgan from a new angle while keeping the dialogue that crosses intact.  It's hard to explain but when you read it, it works.  It's almost like being in the room with them again but listening over the shoulder of the new character.  Pretty cool if I do say so myself.  Anywho, this one again had its share of sweetness and stubbornness as Morgan finally comes to a realization that EVERYONE and I do mean everyone has already known for a while.  Will it be too late to share how she feels?  It just might be, in more ways than one as her life is put on the line by a sudden illness.  Bookmarks up to the author for weaving such a web that any reader would welcome stepping into and being caught up in.

  Hearts in Harmony

Hearts in Harmony
(Love Notes #1)

Elahna Nezario gave up her musical dreams to help run the Queen of Hearts, her mother’s chocolate shop, after her sister’s sudden death. After an unfortunate run-in with Elahna’s childhood crush, owner of the Dolce Theater, not only do her dreams surge back to life, but so does her heart.

Now this series I enjoyed as well, just perhaps a smidge less than the prior.  Nothing against the writing or the story, as they were both worthy of notice and mention, but I felt closer to Laurie, Morgan and her pals than I did to this particular set...but I digress....

Here we have family and friends sorting through life's little disasters on the way to achieving a life that is THAT much closer to a sweet dream.  I appreciated Elahna's giving of herself to help keep the family's dream alive and thoroughly enjoyed her giving her heart another chance.

  Waltzing on Wheels

Waltzing on Wheels
(Love Notes #2)
by
Raine Gillespie

 Meredith Aaron lost all hope for love after a car accident put her in a wheelchair. Who would want her, broken as she is? After her brother tells her to save a dance for him at his wedding, she decides to somehow learn how to dance on the only legs she has left—her wheels.

This one was touching for all the usual reasons but also the unexpected ones.  It's not often you have a lead character disabled in some fashion, learn to rise above and discover more about herself than she ever imagined.  It was wonderful to see her open herself up to life, and a pleasure to see love find its way to her heart once again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So you see, if you're a fan of sweet and sassy, fun and quirky, getting swept away and settling down once again, the Sweet and Clean Romance series is DEFINITELY for you.  As for me, I'm not a big ebook reader BUT I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more in this collection because I had an amazing time.  The first reminds me a bit of Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold series (without the steam) while the second was beginning to grow on me with each turn of the epage.
But now I'd like to ask YOU a question...
....what do YOU think?  Have they earned a spot on your to-read list? Which stands out most to you?  Do tell!
Special thanks to Kathy at I Am a Reader, Not a Writer for the chance to participate in this tour. (THANKS!)  For more information about the host or the titles/authors/ presented, feel free to click through the links included.
