Taste Testing Tuesdays (57)

Good morning (or whatever time it is where you are), everyone!
Welcome to another installment of Taste Testing Tuesdays here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!  Taste Testing Tuesdays was inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading
On the menu this week...a mysterious collection of Christmas time mysteries that have a real world connection to an actual bookshop!  Ready for a taste?

Max stopped dead in the center of the shop.
He seemed about to run back toward the staircase, away from the woman who now closed the door behind her and smiled at him, her blue eyes echoing his, the facial resemblance unmistakable.
--pg 106, Christmas at the Mysterious Bookshop edited by Otto Penzler

An interesting choice for a non-traditional seasonal read and just wow....can't say enough about the cover!  This particular tease comes from a story titled I Saw Mommy Killing Santa Claus by Ed McBain...a rather morbid title and yet the story turned out to be one of my favorites thus far.  I'm a bit over halfway through right now with plans to read it during lunch so you should be seeing a full review of this holiday collection very soon.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*

Until next time....happy reading!
