End of Summer Blog Tour: NEW YORK, ACTUALLY by Sarah Morgan

Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, we're joining the TLC Book Tours and Harlequin FUN as we celebrate the upcoming change in season in true bookish fashion.  Yes, that's right.  It's the END OF SUMMER BLOG TOUR! We've got all the thrills (they don't call it "falling in love" for nothing!), chills (keep those temperatures soaring into the night!), and spills (let's face it, love can be messy!), you need to send the season off with a BANG!

For today's post, we're diving between the pages of the FOURTH installment of the From Manhattan with Love series by none other than Sarah Morgan!  If you haven't discovered her amazing work as of yet, it's high time you do...and while I'm a firm believer in starting a series from the start, this is one of those that you CAN pick up anywhere along the way and still be just as swept away.  So, if you'd be so kind, spread out that beach blanket and grab your shades, because this title is ready to leave scorch marks on your bookshelf and your heart!  Today's book of choice is...

About the book...
One man. One woman. Two dogs.

Meet Molly—New York’s most famous advice columnist, she considers herself an expert at relationships…as long as they’re other people’s. Still bruised from her last breakup, Molly is in no rush to find happily-ever-after—the only love of her life is her dalmatian, Valentine.

Meet Daniel—A cynical divorce lawyer, he’s hardwired to think relationships are a bad idea. If you don’t get involved, no one can get hurt. Until he finds himself borrowing a dog to meet the gorgeous woman he sees running in Central Park every morning…

Molly and Daniel both think they know everything about relationships. But as they try—and fail—to resist their undeniable chemistry, they’ll soon discover they just might have a lot left to learn…

Whether you've been there or merely dreamed of it, it's a well known fact that New York is fast paced, taking the world by storm every day, hour, and minute...so I'm celebrating this title by a few of its moments that lingered, stuck, or struck me for whatever reason (of which I will divulge).  Sound good?  Let's get to it!

In a New York minute...

1. The opening tease aka Bedroom Eyes
If you're a fan of her work (and you've read the 'Dear Reader' letter from the author in the front of the book), you know right where this scene is going...if you don't or haven't, you're in for a sultry surprise.  (*giggle*)  I mean, come on!  With sentences like... "The body on the bed didn't stir, but that wasn't surprising given the amount of exercise they'd both had the day before." ...or..."She allowed her gaze to linger on the perfect lines of his athletic body, before returning her attention to her email."  ...one can't help but be "in the mood".  (Nice job, Ms. Morgan!)

2. Valentine is sick aka Knight in Suit not Armor
My heart was in my mouth, my stomach churning, and the tears ready to roll when this moment came along.  All I could think was NO!  NOT VALENTINE!  NO NO NO!  Total freak out moment...good thing there were calmer heads lending a hand, not that Molly couldn't handle it, but it never hurts to have a shoulder to lean on...especially when they are part of an even better package!  Let's just say that cracks in mister "I'm-not-a-dog-person"s suit armor begin to appear at this point, but as a dog lover, I totally get it, respect it, and swoon over it.  *sigh*

3. That kiss aka THAT KISS!
I'll set the scene.  Molly and Daniel bantering/getting to know each other in the park.  The sky gently parts, allowing a few drops of rain to pitter patter to the ground...until Mother Nature decides to perk this gathering up a bit and turn into a total deluge that they need shelter from.  Hark!  Pray tell is that a sturdy willow tree over yonder under which shelter can perhaps be found?  It is!  It is indeed...although it can only shelter from the storm OUTSIDE...the one brewing INSIDE of these two won't be so easy to escape.  *sigh*  Such a good scene!

4. The office aka Surprising "Daddy"
When Molly finds out about Daniel borrowing Brutus (aka Ruffles) just as a way to meet her, the fireworks start exploding.  This memory (Molly showing up at this office with Brutus in tow) was a total payback moment that sorta kinda got turned on its head.  Molly still got to stick it to him in the end because the questions (a girlfriend?  him?) and raised eyebrows (think that high pitched voice we use when we talk to our pets) followed him not her, but Daniel did manage to score a few points of his own with that kiss (whew!).

5.  The meltdown aka Gather the Wagons
We learn early on that Molly is hiding from something, but just how bad it was or exactly what happened remains a mystery...until it doesn't and all her carefully crafted walls start crumbling down.  True, there was an equally scalding reveal moment that just barely preceded THE BIG ONE, but when the cards were down, it wasn't the past that hit me; it was the actions and reactions of her friends (aka chosen family) that really struck my heart.  It just goes to show you that even in a place like the Big Apple, personal connections can be found.

6.  The moment aka It All Comes Down to This
This one actually encompasses THREE moments to be precise, but the one I'll mention is the grand finale.  The forlorn man with a broken heart...but not simply for the obvious reasons.  The equally broken woman desperately trying to find the truth in her heart.  The lost loved one twisted up in the mix.  The lone hero that comes through in the end.  My heart was once again on standby as to whether the next beat should take place or not...but does that mean all live happily ever after?  One would hope...but that's an ending you're meant to discover on your own.  ^-^

This is just a handful of the moments that are ready and waiting for you to discover, explore, and share like the book-crazy-fan-girl-or-boy you are upon finishing this wonderful addition to the From Manhattan with Love series.  Author Sarah Morgan does a wonderful job of bringing new characters into the fold without losing touch with those that came before, showcasing the beauty of the city that never sleeps that can be overlooked, and making you fall in love all over again.  Can't wait for the next in the series...which is in my reading stack as we speak and happens to release to the world at large AUGUST 29th, 2017, Holiday in the Hamptons.  You're welcome...now go out there and don't let another moment of summer reading pass you by!
