Season's greetings...
...and welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!
So, today marks the first post of BOOKMAS.
What IS Bookmas, you ask?
Great question!
Bookmas is similar to Christmas, except it brings tidings of great reads, holiday gifting suggestions, and just about all the bookish fun you can imagine from across the genre spectrum. It's all in one place at one time (sorta) and ready to help you get out from under the yuletide stress, and get back to enjoying the season...one page at a time.
Just why is it the "Twelve Posts" and not the twelve books? Simple...I have WAY TOO MANY titles for you to consider, peruse, and read all about to limit it to twelve titles. These posts are intended to highlight some great titles, give you ideas for your gifting this year, and help me clear up my "read-it-but-need-to-review-it" teetering stack. Triple focus...yes siree! So, ready or not, let's get this sled on the road as we unwrap today's featured titles....

Dial Books
Just the ticket to get me in the mood for the magical wintry season ahead with an ADORABLE duo that had me dying of cuteness. Seriously! Just LOOK at that cover! Hoot is the wise older brother, Peep is the kid sister, and in this adventure they learn about the beauty and wonder of snow...while uncovering a song fit for its splendor. It will have little ones in awe as they join Peep in discovering just what sounds fit its majesty. It will have older readers entranced by the beauty of the illustrations as well as the simplicity of this charming story reminding us to slow down and enjoy the season for all its worth.
Ronaldo the Flying Reindeer, Book 2
by
Another high flying adventure with Ronaldo and friends, both old AND new, that reminds us of the importance of friendship, helping one another, and how sweet success can be when we give of ourselves. With a charming cast of characters, laugh inducing antics, and a snowfall of good intent, it's no wonder that this series is gathering quite the following. If you haven't sampled this author's work, I highly suggest you do. It's sugar and sweet but with a dose of reality that readers can take right off the page and into their daily lives. All I can say is, well done, Ronaldo...well done indeed!

Titch wants to be your best friend...or rather the best friend of the family he lives with...but, let's just say that they are less than grateful for his presence. After all, Titch IS an itch, and not the easiest of ones to get rid of. This is a surprising story filled with humor, creativity, an adorable itch that refuses to go away, and a message of acceptance...but I can't say that I'm gonna be welcoming any long-term itches into my own life anytime soon. *snicker*
