Hi there readers!
With the winter chill still in the air and in most places (not here...*grumble*grumble*) snow on the ground, many of you have been grounded in one way or another. School cancelled, events postponed, in a nutshell....your life has been disrupted by the big "S". But how much do you REALLY know about snow? I mean sure it's fluffy, white, and generally cold but there is SO much more to its simplistic beauty than that. I'd say now is the perfect time to "read all about it", wouldn't you? Thanks to the folks over at Chronicle Books, you can!
The Science of Winter's Wonder
by
Mark Cassino with Jon Nelson, Ph.D.
From how it's created to the different shapes a snow crystal can take, it sounds like a fascinating winter time adventure to me...how about you? Wanna take a look inside?
Pretty cool, right?
There's even more ways to continue the snow day fun when you take a click over to the book's website and view the fascinating pictures of snow crystals they recently captured. Wow...really, so tiny and yet so beautiful! Plus, once school DOES get back in, the Chronicle Books site has a great 'Teacher's Guide' available for download so that the whole class can get in on the adventure.
Speaking of adventure...how would you like a chance to win a copy of your own? From now through February 28th, 2011, Chronicle Books is giving away FIVE copies of this book so you can create your very own winter wonderland adventures at home.
