Why hello there, my fellow insatiable readers!
How are YOU today?
Good I hope.
We've had a busy week so far here on the site. Monday we played host to a blog tour, yesterday we celebrated an awesome book birthday, and seeing as we have another great blog tour to come tomorrow, I thought today...we'd take it easy. So kick back and relax as you take a gander at two familiar posts rolled into one...and you might want to have your Wish List ready too. Just sayin'.
Here we go....

In My Shopping Bag (72)
In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.
Through her guidelines, your post does not actually have to be named the same and thus my post shall be..."In My Shopping Bag". (just fits with the "foodie" theme a bit better in my humble opinion)
Let's take a peek inside my shopping bag this week....
Review
The Violets of March by Sarah Jio
(courtesy of the author and Penguin / Plume)
Isn't this just a lovely cover? The simplicity and attention to detail create a beautiful image....can't wait to see how the story shapes up. Release date for this title is set for 04/26/11. Check out the book trailer for a glimpse inside the cover...
The Tourist Trail by John Yunker
(review copy courtesy of the author)
Love, danger, and....penguins. Sounds like an intersting mix and a great way to help spread the message about our world's endangered species/habitats. Review to come later this year....
Fifo "50 States" by Harley Rose
(Review copy courtesy of Pump Up Your Book Promotions)
This looks like a wonderful and educational read for children of all ages. Look for the blog tour swinging through this April....
Dread of Night by Joshua D. Boeringa
(Review copy courtesy of the author)
This looks like a fun collection of some spooky tales....might want to read this one with the lights on. ~shudders~ Look for the review to come later this year....

Won
When what to my wondering eyes should appear but a prize pack of fun...but just how much was not clear. To clarify, keep scrolling to refill the further contents of the prize of awesomeness....
SIGNED copy of Tweet Heart by Elizabeth Audnick
SIGNED water bottle
...and...
SIGNED copy of Dead Beautiful by Yvonne Woon
(Won via blogoversary contest from Kate at I Just Want to Sit Here and Read)
To be honest, I sorta forgot this one was coming....but much to my surprise, it not only contained one SIGNED book but TWO....not to mention that nifty water bottle. Awesone times....can't wait to read all about it. If you haven't checked out Katie's site, you really should. Lots of bookish fun to be had.

Taste Testing Tuesdays (71)
It's that time again. Time for another round of Taste Testing Tuesdays, inspired by 'Teaser Tuesdays', a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
On the menu this week...one title that is oddly curious and another that is sorta being neglected for the first....no worries, they'll both be read.
---------------------------------------------------
How long had he been running after her? The boy was sweating. He had the clean-shaaven, buzzed-head look of an ROTC student, or maybe a member of College Students for Christ. But these kids could fool you. Sometimes the conservative look was an ironic statement, right down to the pressed khaki shorts.-- pg 36, The Raising by Laura Kasischke
This one I'm reading in conjunction with TLC Book Tours in prepartion for my upcoming stop along their way. So far, it's interesting...though I'm not certain I'm enamoured with it either. We shall see....
In the way, way back of the cargo van -- perched on a five-gallon bucket of leek compote amid stacks and stacks of disposable aluminum hotel pans and packed wtih salmon filets portioned at four oz. and already partially blasted in the convection ovens back at the warehouse, sat Andrea, the freelance chef assigned to run the party. He, dear bride and groom, was the bitter and viscously funny guy chain-smoking Marlboros, about to oversee your very expensive love meal.-- pg 76, Blood, Bones, and Butter (ARC)
Well you can certainly see where the author's love of food and live were both instilled at a young age. Though admittedly I haven't been picking this one up to read as often as I should, it will be read over the coming days.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other participants can add the book to their TBR.*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Until next time....happy reading!

Thanks for a double the fun post.
What a title - Blood, Bones And Butter - if ever a title captured my imagination this has to be it.
There are some great books in your shopping bag! :)
The Violets of March is on my wishlist. I am looking forward to your review!
Awesome prize pack!
I've been quite intrigued by THE RAISING -- and that teaser really makes me want to find out more!
I want the Beautiful Dead!
I was just thinking about the first book :)
Oh! The Violets of March & Dead Beautiful...sounds like some great reading in your future! I think Juju was just thinking about Violets because I'm sending her my extra copy. hehe. We'll have something to talk about the three of us! :o)
Well, you did indeed get a whole lot of awesome in your Mail bag. Holy cats! i too got The Violets of March, it has gotten stellar reviews! I'm excited to read that one.
Just got off the tour for The Raising...I'll be curious to read what you think. It did not knock my socks off...I'll just say that....!
have a great day!
Oh, are you going to BEA?
The Tourist Trail sounds really interesting! I like penguins... And the language in Blood, Bones and Butter seems fantastic! *Add to wishlist of doom* I've seen The Raising around a lot lately, I look forward to your review!
Petty Witter: My pleasure! Yes, the title is captivating in a way.... ^_^
Misha: Thanks! Yes, that's gonna be a perfect fit for a women's fiction read coming up soon...
Casey: *high five* It's an interesting read, but I have to withhold further comments for now...final verdict undecided.
Liz: Ummm.... -hides book- ...what book? (LOL)
Juju: Really? How curious!
the1stdaughter: Ahh, so THAT explains it. ^_^ Definitely have to talk about it once we've all finished reading.
Michelle: Me too! (Excited about it that is...) Yeah...kind of feeling ya on the whole lack of rockin socks thing....we'll see though. BEA? Alas, only in my dreams. *le SIGH*
Lisa: Really? Cool. Might interest you then, although the story is of course more about the people than the penguins, or so I've gathered. Happy to add to the "wishlist of doom" (<--like that phrasing!)...and The Raising review will be coming soon. ^_^
I'm so jealous you won a signed copy of Dead Beautiful! I love that book!
Julie: ^_^ I was surprised when it came myself!
