Hi guys!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers... the place to be any
day of the week when the need to read strikes with a heavy hand.
Today, we're taking a break from the promo posts and jumping back to the
land of childrens storybooks for a quick adventure that all my fellow
bookworms should be able to appreciate. It was a self purchase a few months
back that I just couldn't resist...and so if you find yourself in the same
predicament... you know, about to break a book buying ban or something, I
certainly won't blame you. :) Today's book of choice is...
BUNNY LOVES TO READ
By
Peter Bently
Illustrated by
Deborah Melmon
This is one of those books that I just want to go out and buy for all my
bookish friends (and I have for a few), and even those less than bookish
ones because it simply is THAT good. Take one bunny enraptured with the
world of reading, add in one sunny turned rainy day and mix in a lot of
friends who'd rather play outside than look through the pages of some
boring old book. Yep, Buster Bunny has his work cut out for him, but with a
little inside knowledge he proves there is a right book for every reader
and non.
It's all about connecting them with something that sparks their interests.
Whether it be pirates on the high seas, or fairy princesses escaping wicked
queens...the potential reader has to see something of themselves in the
work, or something they are curious about in order to form a connection
they wish to pursue. It's not an exact science and it certainly gets a hand
from a little bookish magic, but when it happens it's one of the best
feelings in the world for both the seeker and the connection maker. So go
ahead, share your love of reading with your friends, your neighbors, or
even that stranger trying to peer over your shoulder right now, desperate
to see what has captured your attention so; you'll not only be broadening
your horizons but quite possibly introducing them to their next favorite
read.
Review copy from my own personal library. Recommended read for all ages,
shapes, sizes, colors, and even species. There is not a reader amongst us
that could resist its charm nor a non reader that couldn't benefit from is
message.
Until next time... happy reading!
