Hi guys and gals!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Whilst I'm in the middle of book two for an upcoming last minute blog tour AND work is giving me absolutely NO time to myself (*grrr*), I thought I might throw you a bone...a book bone that is, and yet the joke works well for today's selection. It's a Picture Book title that just released May 2016 and while it is quite entertaining with an adorable lead, it also serves a greater purpose with a message to help kiddos that might have the same problem as little Douglas. So, ready or not, here comes today's book of choice...

This is the story of little Douglas and how HE saw the world...or rather didn't. You see, much like you and I, he had a bit of trouble zeroing in on things and so instead of seeing where the stick you just threw landed, he might circle around a bit and bring back something other than what he intended. Hey, it resembled a stick to him...but what he saw and what it actually was were two different things. When he finally took his human's advice and had his eyes checked, Douglas was sporting a snazzy pair of glasses just right for him, and the world became THAT much more beautiful.
Douglas was adorable, really and truly. He's the pup that never met a game he didn't like or a walk he wouldn't take...he just had a bit of a stubborn streak. The hipness of eyewear comes and goes but the NEED for their visual assistance does not. I remember when I first got glasses as a child. I went to the eye doctor and selected pink plastic frames in a shape that should have been kept so far from me I would have to have go-go-gadnet arms to reach them. Needless to say when they came in, I didn't wear them. Nope. Wouldn't do it...but eventually I had to because NOT wearing them when you need them, just makes the situation worse. I lucked out...my vision didn't stray too far off from what it was, but that's not always the case. It's nice to see books like this taking the spotlight because they are not only entertaining, but a great assist for parents trying to convince their kids that the eye doctor is not scary and that glasses are cool. I mean, if Douglas can wear them, why wouldn't they? He's a pretty cool little pup....
