Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Here's hoping 2021 is going well thus far, and only sunny days are ahead! As for me, I've been working an awful lot, but it pays the bills so, yeah, it's better than NOT working...but I've also got a pretty full reading schedule, and some new obligations to the Cybils Awards round two judging to do, so if you don't see me out an about social media wise a bunch this month, that's totally why. Anywho...
Today's post is really all about CELEBRATING the BOOK BIRTHDAY of a NEW Entangled Teen release that's ready for your immediate consumption...and seriously, you're gonna want to check it out! It's got otherworldly abilities, best friends, first loves, and danger to spare. So, if you're ready, let's grab our party hats and a handful or two of confetti because we're about to duck between the epages of today's featured title...

About the book...
What if with every person you met, after just one touch, you have a vision of the last time you’ll see each other? Ever. Normally, these visions are innocent—two friends just drifting apart, a random stranger that brushed past you then never crossed your path again.
But not today.
When I accidentally touch him, within only moments of our first meeting, I’m bombarded by visions of his death.
And from what I can see, I’m the reason he dies.
Now I just need to figure out why, and how to stop this from happening. Because not only am I to blame, but his very last words to me are...I love you.

Oh my word!
So, I got SO caught up in this one, it was hard to put down to do normal every day things...like work, or household chores, or pretty much ANYTHING other than read this book! Somehow I managed it, but it wasn't easy, nor my first choice. Now about that story...
Quinn's predicament is definitely something to shoulder. A blessing or curse, however you view her "power" is in the eye of the beholder, but what she's seen most recently is definitely on the darker side of things. A death, but not just any, nor was it any old way, or of someone if no importance. No, this was someone she had yet to know, and if her vision is anything to go by (which it always is) yet to LOVE. How's THAT for a fortune cookie that NO ONE wanted ever? Yeah, exactly. So, how to fix it? CAN it be fixed? Is anything actually broken or are we embarking on a Final Destination-esque journey that will only end when everyone is taken out? Questions aplenty, but answers are few and far between.
Watching Quinn and same said mysterious stranger turned potential love (aka Griffin) was SO HARD. I mean, would knowing your relationship has an expiration date help or hurt? What about is only ONE party knows? Yeah, my heart bled for Quinn...but Griffin's life wasn't a walk in the park either, and as we learn more about him, we see where the deadly turn of events could be coming from. Word to the wise? Literally about halfway through...there's a twist you won't see coming. Promise. Now, later on, there's a few turns that I did see coming, but that could be because of the books I've read previously making me already suspicious of those that your average reader may not be (and since none of you are average, I'm pretty sure you'll pick it up to), but it doesn't ruin anything because, just like Quinn's visions, you just won't believe the outcome until you've read it with your own eyes. Love is lost for good, life is lost for some, and eyes are opened to things that were kept hidden like so many skeletons in a closet.
All in all, it was definitely a title I enjoyed, but even the best of them can have tiny flaws. One small mention of a minor pet peeve for me...Quinn's time spent in her head. Honestly, a big part of the book is her going back and forth about whether to tell or not, can she do anything or not, bemoaning her fate, and the lot. It's not that I didn't love the girl, but I do think that she might have been able to be investigate everything in the real world as opposed to her mind. Anywho, obviously from my gushing words above, you can tell it was only a speed bump in my reading adventure because my FINAL VERDICT is that I loved it! I would highly recommend it to Contemporary Young Adult fans who love a bit of mystery, romance, friendship, and something DARKER that doesn't go BUMP in the night, but BANG!

About the author...
Lindsey has been writing since she was nine years old, when she discovered the awesomeness that is Harriet the Spy. Her books always include a romance, though sometimes there’s an added sci-fi or magical realism twist. She lives in Columbus, Ohio (where the weather is never quite right). Her BFA in Photography and Graphic Design has granted her a wide assortment of creative knowledge that serves as inspiration (and not much else). When she’s not crafting YA and NA stories, you'll likely find her spending waaay too much time on Pinterest, playing a video game, singing show-tunes, or performing in a burlesque show—because she enjoys giving her introversion a worthy adversary. (Plus, it's the closest to Broadway she’ll ever get.) Lindsey was a proud 2016 Pitch Wars Mentee and thoroughly adores being a part of the wonderful writing community. THE HEARTBEAT HYPOTHESIS is her debut novel.
