Hi there!
Welcome back to the Friday edition of Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Sorry for the blog silence yesterday...it's not that I don't have material to review, it's that my reading schedule is a bit overbooked for next week (my own fault), so I had to tackle READING first, but now it's time to share! It's already the halfway point in the month (practically), if you can believe it, and it just wouldn't be July without at least ONE post reminding us of the snowy (not here), cold (sometimes here), wintry months ahead...okay, well, at least 4 months out, but still, it's something to look forward to as we sweat away during these 100 degree days AND the perfect reason to have a CHRISTMAS IN JULY post!
Today's selection is an ebook title I read just this week that's filled with FUN and wintry magic. It's a work of Children's Fiction, perfect for Middle Grade readers and above, and stars a little reindeer that could setting out on his first of many adventures (planned series, yay!). Ready or not, the runway is open and this baby is coming in for a landing! Make way for today's ebook of choice...

About the book...
Ronaldo is the top flying cadet at the prestigious Reindeer Flying Academy. He dreams of getting his flying license and becoming one of Santa's reindeer, just like his hero, Vixen.
In the first adventure in the Ronaldo series, the second year flying cadets face their toughest ever flying test – The Endurance Challenge. Will Ronaldo be victorious and lift the silver cup? Or will mean brothers Dasher, Comet and Prancer ruin his chance for success?

Right from the start, you know you're in for a treat...I mean, just look at that cover?! The enthusiastic faces on the reindeer flying through the air with hard earned mastery and skill, the winter white landscape all puffy with fresh snow, and the interesting fashion choices all around...it just screams, YOU WANT TO READ THIS!
Here, we are introduced to Ronaldo and friends as they join a typical day at the Reindeer Flying Academy...but today won't be EXACTLY like all the other days. True, it starts out with Ronaldo trying to escape...err, I mean leave the house, undetected to avoid a particular clothing article that is less than cool, not exactly being successful, catching up with his best friend Rudi, and trying to avoid the attentions of the school bullies (yep, even reindeers have them...grr)...all normal day activities for him apparently. The difference comes in that at school, it's not your average day of learning. Nope. It's a day for testing their mettle, if you will, as it's time for THE ENDURANCE CHALLENGE!
(~echo echo echo echo echo~)
That's right!
It's almost a right of passage, as well as a skills test, for these antlered little guys and gals, giving them a chance to show their stuff, win an awesome trophy, and maybe, just maybe break the long standing record held by the one and only, Vixen. A dream come true for any young reindeer, but can Ronaldo stick it out to come out on top? He does have passion on his side, some AMAZING advice from a wise elder, and let us not forget that aforementioned hat that may serve a purpose more than simply fashion.
In the end, I found Ronaldo to be a highly likable little reindeer, full of spirit, spunk, and heart...along with his family and friends. He reminds us that with a little imagination, a great motto, and little personal magic of the heart, there's nothing we set our minds to that we can't do...and that bullies never truly win. A great message for the readers of all ages and when you take the charming (and funny!) illustrations into account as well, you've got a win-win read for any season you deem fit!
