Were gazing upon Earth,

Watching people's fates.

When they gazed in wonder,

When they looked in awe;

They couldn't contain their joy,

At the kindnesses they saw.

From helping out a neighbor,
To making Mom a star;

They watched people of all ages,

From both near and far.

The happiness it brought them,

Caused them to dance and sing;

Forgetting for a moment,

The clouds and stars from which they swing.

Down they tumble,

One by one;

Until there gleeful falls,

Left only one.

But fear not, fair readers,

For the angels, safe and sound;

Paid a visit to those joyous souls,

Whose hearts they did surround.

They celebrated their joys,

With happiness in their hearts;

Bestowing them with a blessing,

Of love eternal in their hearts.

KATHLEEN T. PELLEY is a native of Glasgow, Scotland, but spent most of her childhood summers playing on her grandparents’ farm in Ireland. Her passion for stories stemmed from listening to them on the radio during the BBC children’s story hour. She is the award-winning author of seven other picture books and hosts her own storytelling podcast, Journey with Story.
