A new
Slayer for a new generation...
Frankie Rosenberg is passionate about the environment, a sophomore at New
Sunnydale High School, and the daughter of the most powerful witch in Sunnydale
history. Her mom, Willow, is slowly teaching her magic on the condition that
she use it to better the world. But Frankie’s happily quiet life is upended
when new girl Hailey shows up with news that the annual Slayer convention has
been the target of an attack, and all the Slayers—including Buffy, Faith, and
Hailey’s older sister Vi—might be dead. That means it’s time for this
generation’s Slayer to be born.
But being the first ever Slayer-Witch means learning how to wield a stake while
trying to control her budding powers. With the help of Hailey, a werewolf named
Jake, and a hot but nerdy sage demon, Frankie must become the Slayer, prevent
the Hellmouth from opening again, and find out what happened to her Aunt Buffy,
before she’s next.
Get ready for a whole new story within the world of Buffy!
The first in an all-new series by New York Times best-selling
author Kendare Blake continues the world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer featuring
the next generation of Scoobies and Slayers who must defeat a powerful new
evil.
OMG!
For those of you that were privileged enough to experience the FABULOUS series that was Buffy the Vampire Slayer the first time around, you are going to go seriously out of your mind when you get your hands on this book! For those of you that were lucky enough to catch on to the series some times after it ended (boo!), you'll be all prepped to step back into a world familiar, and yet new. For those of you not on the bandwagon yet, and wondering just what in the world I'm going on about...catch a clue!
It's BUFFY and friends BACK AGAIN in a new way for a new generation, but with all the FABULOSITY that it originally carried. It lacks NOTHING. It doesn't copy what happened (though there are a few instances that you can see/sense an echo to some degree), but moves the story forward. We get to see all...okay, MOST...of our old friends in some form or another, and I swear that are SPOT ON from everything I remember. I could see Willow and Oz trading glances. I could sense Spike's outrage at the role they were asking him to fill. I could tell Xander had grown, and yet was still the same guy we knew. Seeing them in more adult roles did nothing to diminish their characters, or their roles for that matter...even having kids.
Oh yes...Willow is a mom now, and before anyone speaks up about how that's possible, let me remind you what day and age we are in...and the fact that the series is filled with paranormal witchcraft and whatnot, so yeah...anything is possible, and besides, she's a killer mom! Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure she could still literally fill that roll, if needed, but now I'm getting off track. This story is about the NEW generation...because even though all the lines were called into action a few years back, something has changed, and we're back to square one...or rather slayer one. Yeah...it seems the Hellmouth is about to be a very happening place once again, and it's gonna take more than a fledgling young slayer to hang the "closed for business" sign. Good thing Buffy was a great role model...and good friends are pretty easy to come by.
I could keep going, and trust me, I want to, but I want to keep the air of mystery this story brings. There are characters to love, loathe, and something in between...but there's something bigger at work, bigger than them all, that must be sorted or the newly newly newly refurbished Sunnydale is in for another demolition party...fangs required.

About the author...
Kendare
Blake is the New
York Times bestselling author of several novels and short stories. Her work
is sort of dark, always violent, and features passages describing food from
when she writes while hungry. She was born in July in Seoul, South Korea, but
doesn’t speak a lick of Korean, as she was packed off at a very early age to
her adoptive parents in the United States. That might be just an excuse,
though, as she is pretty bad at learning foreign languages. She lives and
writes in Gig Harbor, Washington, with her husband, their cat son Tyrion
Cattister, red Doberman dog son Obi-Dog Kenobi, rottie mix dog daughter Agent
Scully, and naked Sphynx cat son Armpit McGee.

Ooh! Not a big fan of the tv series {I gave it another go when it was aired again recently hereinthe UK hoping I I mightappreciate it more ... I didn't} but I have a sneaking feeling I might like the books.
Good luck everyone entering the giveaway. I'm away to add the books to my wish list.
