RRR presents... WHAT NEXT? by Shari Low - REVIEW!

Hi guys!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, we’ve got another Rachel’s Random Resources tour on deck with the next instalment in author Shari Low’s series about lifelong friends and the multitude of ups, downs, troubles, and ultimately triumphs they get into on their journey together. We’ve featured the others here on my site, so it only made sense to follow the girls along on this next trip...and boy what a trip it was! Ladies and gents, pack your bags as we jet set on our next adventure through the pages with today’s blog tour guest and ebook of choice...

What Next?
by
Shari Low

About the book...
Two weeks, four friends and one big bucket list of secrets to unravel…

Val Murray and her best friend, Josie had been planning a ‘Thelma and Louise’ bucket list style holiday.
Now Josie is gone, and Val needs to make the trip before it’s too late.

But Val doesn’t want to do it alone, so she enlists the help of her nieces, Carly and Carole, and their best pal, Jess, who jump at the chance to join Val on a trip of a lifetime.

What Val doesn’t realise is that Carly, Carole and Jess are all at turning points in their own lives, nursing crushing secrets, lies and betrayals.

Somewhere between Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York they all hit a crossroads and have to decide if they want to return to the lives they left behind or let Josie’s last wishes take them on a brand new adventure.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let’s see, we begin like most of the other novels, in jail.
Yep. The slammer, and we’re not just talking about Carly, but the WHOLE GANG...and what’s more, the whole ordeal isn’t even what they think it was about. Oh yeah, Val has been keeping secrets, but it was with good intentions and a desire to carry out the once-upon-a-time made wishes of two women that were meant to be friends til the end...yet that end came much too soon for one of them. But, I’m getting all maudlin here, and there’s so much more to feel, experience, and ride or die for!
Each one of the gals is at a crossroads, whether they realize it at first or it slowly dawned like the morning sun. One has everything they could ever dream of...a life among the Hollywood boulevards, the man of her dreams, and a life of luxury...but what she really wants it HOME, family, and to be surrounded by those she chose versus by blood alone. Another has presented such a front to friends and followers that she’s lost her true self, including that connection to her partner for better or worse in life’s trials and tribulations. Still another is chasing down the dreams of their younger self in the desire to carry out a plan hatched many years ago, and yet when push comes to shove, may just realize the plan was never really meant for the two of them, but the extended family she now has. Yes, there is much afoot between the pages as self realization takes them to new places, and yet another stay in the clinker...but in the end, their new beginnings will take them to heights they never knew they could reach.
A great read for Contemporary Fiction fans and Women’s Fiction fans alike.
RRR presents... ONE SUMMER SUNRISE by Shari Low - REVIEW!
Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Today, we're joining Rachel's Random Resources for a stop along their current tour featuring the work of author Shari Low. You may recognize the name from your own reading, or the other two posts we've featured her titles in right here on the site, but any way you slice it, if you're a Contemporary Fiction or Women's Fiction fan, you NEED to know it. Ladies and gents, may I introduce you to today's blog tour guest and ebook of choice...
One Summer Sunrise
by
Shari Low
About the book...
As the sun rises on a hot summer’s day, four lives are about to be changed forever...
Brand new from the bestselling author of What If?, What Now? and One Day In Summer.
Today, Maisie McTeer decides to track down the ex who jilted her at the altar. Today, she’ll find out that revisiting the past can also rewrite her future.
After losing her husband, Harriet Bassett can no longer bear her lonely life. Today, a familiar face in a crowd will spark a quest to discover if there’s something and someone worth living for.
Scott and Kelly Bassett’s daughter is leaving home. Today, Scott plans to tell Kelly that he’s ending their marriage to pursue his rock and roll dreams.
However, Kelly, has a bombshell of her own. How will Scott react to the news that a new arrival is on the way to fill their empty nest?
Between sunrise and sunset, there’s love, heartbreak, laughter and tears, but who will find happiness at the end of the day?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So much can happen between the span of time from sunrise to sunset...
...and this story proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt!

Fiction it may be, but these characters will work their way right into your heart.  Their stories will capture you, make you cringe, smile, laugh, cry, and gasp as you cross your fingers and hope against hope that the end of each life's tale isn't left simply as is.  Maisie, Scott, Kelly, Carny, Rick, Carson, and SO MANY MORE are introduced in their own time, and have stories so worth following.  They dance around each other, and intertwine along the way, but they all have such distinct voices, you won't be able to leave any of them behind.  Though each touched me in some fashion, I think the one I was most attached to was Harriett.  The life she's lived, the losses she's suffered, the decisions she's made, and yet even in her darkest hours, the strength she has, both of heart, and mind.  I was literally reading with tears rolling down my face at one point, blatantly updating my Goodreads status with "...that better not be the end of Harriet's story.."...and yes, I meant it!  I was totally invested and if things reached THAT point with THAT twist, I just didn't know what to do!

In short, it's a story about life, love, family, and those we choose to hold dear.  It doesn't shy away from the messy times, nor does it gloss over the good, but it does remind us that every day is a gift; another twenty four hours with which to chase our dreams, follow our hearts, and positively impact this world...or at the very least, make our corner of it a little brighter.

RRR presents... WHAT NOW? by Shari Low - REVIEW!

Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, we've teamed up with Rachel's Random Resources to celebrate 20 YEARS of Shari Low!  Deja vu much?  You betcha, but in the best way possible!  The title we're featuring today a sequel that was TWENTY YEARS in the making, so let's break out the confetti, and don our party hats because there's nothing like a bookish party!  Am I right?  Let's get this blog tour post on the road as we focus in on today's ebook of choice...

What Now?
by
Shari Low

About the book...

The follow-up sequel to the bestselling 'What If?' from Shari Low

Twenty years ago, Carly Cooper went on an epic quest to track down all the men she’d ever loved and lost in the hope that one of them was her Mr Right.

Now, two decades and two teenage sons later, she thinks she might have got it all wrong.

As the years have passed, lots of things have changed, leaving Carly asking ‘What Now?’

With a divorce and an empty nest on the horizon, Carly sets off once more to Los Angeles with her band of trusty girlfriends, to find the carefree, wild and adventurous Carly Cooper that she used to be.

On this latest quest, Carly discovers a few home truths and has to decide If her marriage is worth saving or is there a new happy-ever-after out there, just waiting for her…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Carly and the girls are back for an epic adventure!  You thought mid-life crisis' were just for the fellas?  Think again...only it does in fact involve the male species in several respects, so yeah...okay, I'll commit to it being brought on my them, but not fully about them.  Anywho, back to Carly...
She's been living the dream with her presumed soulmate, two kids, a house, a career with dreams politely shelved and no (*cough cough*) regrets, until one day...she's not.  I mean, she still has the great kids, house, and career-type outlook in the works, but the soulmate has left the building.  What's a girl to do?!  Carry on, and so she does...until another monkey wrench comes flying her way and suddenly ducking for cover is no longer an option, and hiding away won't be tolerated by those who love her most.  Can we say ROAD TRIP?  Okay, well there is a road, but they take the skyway, and along the way discover oh-so-many-more things about themselves, each other, and the world around them...including the fact that love comes in many forms, not every soulmate results in a happily ever after, never take on a clan of "mama bears", and true love can strike twice!
If I've left you intrigued, GOOD!  You should be...and it's well warranted.  If you're a fan of Contemporary Romance, Women's Fiction, or Chick Lit, this is definitely a book you won't want to miss.  By the turn of the final page, you'll feel like one of the gang...and I can't think of a better group to be counted as one!
HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
Today, we're joining Rachel's Random Resources for a blog tour already in progress as we shine the bookish spotlight on a Women's Fiction title you'll definitely want to have on your summer reading list.  It all takes place during the course of a day, but the way the lives of these supposedly strangers intertwine is nothing short of AMAZING, and ultimately heart shattering, but that's a portion of the tale for me to share after the introduction.  SO, ladies and gents, join me as we welcome today's blog tour guest and ebook of choice...
One Day in Summer
by
Shari Low
Boldwood Books
About the book...
From #1 bestseller Shari Low, an emotional roller-coaster, that keeps you guessing...
One day in summer, three lives are about to change forever.
After two decades of looking after others, this is the day that Agnetha McMaster is reclaiming her life. It's her turn, her time but will she have the courage to start again?
Ten years ago, Mitchell McMaster divorced Agnetha and married her best friend, Celeste. Now he suspects his second wife is having an affair. This is the day he’ll discover if karma has come back to bite him.
Thanks to a DNA test, this is the day that Hope McTeer will finally meet her biological father. But will the reunion bring Hope the answers that she’s looking for?
Three people. Twenty-four hours. A lifetime of secrets to unravel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is a story that is definitely the sum of its parts.  The characters make it what it is, for better or worse, and the end results is most DEFINITELY for the better.  Let's take it person by person, leading character wise...

Putting Together the Puzzle Pieces to Grow Accounts

Agnetha...
...our formidable leading lady who loved life, loved love, and loved the chance to share those experiences with others.  She had a free spirit and lived every day to her fullest, but with care and kindest remembered in her choices.  All things were going her way, until one fateful day some 15+ years ago...when a change in circumstance started a snowball effect she could have never imagined.

Mitchell...
...married to Agnetha formerly, yet currently to her former best friend.  Can't say I'm a fan of the cheating kind (and neither was she, hence the divorce), but as they say, you make your bed and then must sleep in it.  Also, karma tends to bite and bite HARD...so yeah, I may be a bit vindictive, but I had a REALLY hard time feeling bad for him.

Hope...
...and innocent among the messes uncovered, but with such a strong spirit, and a great support system.  Being an adopted child is not normally something one would envy, but the way her life turned out...at the very least until all the revelations start happening...even with the poor health, has been somewhat magical.  It was wonderful to see adoptive families shown in such a heart warming light.

Celeste...
...a beauty queen she might be, but definitely a case for it being only skin deep.  Let's just say that if the betrayal of her friend's marriage wasn't enough...THERE'S MORE.  Oh yes, so much more.

The Meaning of Love - Joshua Hehe - Medium

Having a story take place from start to finish in the course of a day, even with multiple characters, can be a bit trying when read.  I mean, you usually get one end of the spectrum (over detailed) or the other (too vague and broad), making it less than enjoyable...which is DEFINITELY NOT the case here!  The chapters were labeled (THANK YOU!) to keep you on track with who's voice it was written in and what time (year).  The character's were distinct, so even if one wasn't paying close enough attention, you could still easily hold the narrative thread.  The way the story unfolded from past to present was absolutely mind-boggling, and yet felt genuine, making it so I really wanted to smack a few about the head in SEVERAL places.

To sum, a GREAT STORY filled with life, love, loss, and heart.  It reminds us that it's never too late to discover our true selves, or our true hearts, and that forgiveness (in the right circumstances) can be next to godliness.  So take a break in your summer days to explore this particular one and see just how carried away a heart can get.
