RRR presents...Summer at Croftwood Cinema by Victoria Walker - SPOTLIGHT!

The weather has finally turned a corner in most places, so today's featured title should be welcomed with open arms. It screams summertime adventure, and reinforces that you never really know a person, only what they're willing to share with you.

Ladies and gents, take a closer look at today's Rachel's Random Resources guest and title in the spotlight...

Summer at Croftwood Cinema
by
Victoria Walker

About the book...
Patsy Clements lives in Croftwood. It’s been her sanctuary for three years while she rebuilt a life for herself that is safe and happy. Out of necessity, she has learnt to live without ambitions or dreams, but she does have her best friend Oliver who means everything to her.

Oliver Jones owns the trendy local coffee shop and establishes himself as the town entrepreneur when he buys the derelict old cinema in the park. Bringing it back to life is going to be a challenge and he wants his best friend Patsy to be his business partner.

After lying low for three years is it a mistake for her to change the life that has kept her safe or is it time to start living again? Will stepping into the limelight tempt fate and mean her past catches up with her and can she survive if it does?

Join Patsy and Oliver in the small town of Croftwood for a summer where friendships are made, challenges are everywhere and romance blossoms at the cinema in the park.

BOOK REVIEW starring... Hideaway in Iceland by Victoria Walker

This time of year, in my neck of the woods, the weather is generally turning cooler, if not verging on the edge of cold.  2022 is proving that anything goes because daytime highs were 80+, but the nights are still cooling down, so you pretty much never know what to wear or what temp you're gonna get!  Oye!  My kingdom for a little seasonal temperatures...although the ones in today's featured title are probably a little brisker than I could initially handle.  We're heading back to Iceland with author Victoria Walker's latest, currently touring with Rachel's Random Resources, and while our last adventure there was just about one year ago, it felt like coming home.

About the book...
PR executive Anna Mortimer has clinched the deal of a lifetime for the hottest celebrity couple to have their wedding covered by a glossy magazine, but when things don’t go to plan and she loses her job, will a well-timed invitation to visit Reykjavik be the perfect distraction while she decides what to do next?

Ned Nokes has just left the safety of the biggest boy band in history to go it alone. With the eyes of the world on him, he escapes to Iceland in search of solitude. He makes friends with people who don’t know who he is but after a lifetime in the spotlight, can he trust anyone who isn’t on his payroll?

Visit Iceland at its most beautiful as autumn turns to winter and find out whether the magic that helped Anna’s friend Rachel find her happy ever after, is still there…

If you read the prior release (Snug in Iceland), it seriously feels just like coming home.  Anna is Rachel's best friend, and when she hits hard times after a media fiasco ends her career, she's there to offer a helping hand, a shoulder on which to cry, and a place to escape reality for a while!  That's right!  A few weeks in Iceland is just what the doctor ordered.  It'll give Anna some much needed time away to figure out her next move, and the space to breathe without anyone she knows bothering round...well, mostly.  It can be a small world sometimes, what with air travel and all, and just when you think you're getting away, some parts of your life can inadvertently follow.  In this case, it's not such a bad thing, as it could mean a love distraction, but Anna's not really not looking for the "L" word right now, and the complications that Ned brings is A LOT more than simply historical baggage.  In order for both of them to discover what they were really seeking, it's gonna take patience, kindness, and some self-reflection.  It may not be easy, but then again, what truly worth having was ever simple?

I loved seeing our lovebirds from the prior novel in this story.  It brought everything back without needing a recap of what happened, and continued our journey towards new beginnings with another potential couple.  Grant it, these two are like oil and water background wise, but if they follow the connection they felt from the start, they are bound to find their way...and watching that happen was equal parts lovely and frustrating!  Sometimes you just want to climb in a story and wake someone up from the self oblivion they're climbed into...and yeah, this was one of them, but eventually the synapses start firing again, and senses are came to in order to reach towards the HEA that was hovering there the whole time.

A great read for Contemporary Romance fans this season or any season, that'll busy your mind and steal your heart.

RRR presents... SNUG IN ICELAND by Victoria Walker - REVIEW!

Hello, hello!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers...again!

Yes, that's right, it's TAKE TWO for the day and up next, we've got a Contemporary Fiction novel on tour now via Rachel's Random Resources. It'll whisk you away to the farthest reaches of the north on a journey of the heart that you never saw coming...or maybe YOU did, but the characters didn't, so just as distance can sometimes make the heart grow fonder, let's dig into today's second blog tour guest and ebook of choice...

Snug in Iceland
by
Victoria Walker

About the book...
Rachel Richards is stuck in a rut. Her boyfriend Adam barely notices her most of the time and her life in London isn’t as exciting as it should be. When the company she works for, Snug, asks her to oversee the opening of a new store in Iceland, she jumps at the chance for a change of scenery. Exploring Reykjavik with the help of Icelandic tour guide Jonas, Rachel discovers that life is out there waiting to be lived. As she falls in love with Iceland, she begins to see what is important to her and wonders whether the life she left behind is what she wants after all…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rachel and Adam. Connected at the start and seemingly from the heart, but when an unexpected promotion brings a not necessarily unwanted change of scenery for Rachel, what does that say about the relationship? Shouldn't you want to be with the one you're with instead of hoping the distance will bring you closer? What happens when you're not thrown into each other's paths simply thanks to the end of a day? Will eyes wander? Will heart's desires change? Under the gorgeous colors of the Northern Lights, more than one person's perspective will change...whether for better or worse depends on your point of view.
Admittedly, I was never a fan of Adam. He seemed to let Rachel go a little too easily with a severe lack of plans to be together once the business separation began. I would have wanted him to be happy, yes, but a little more eager for those sparse weekends. Instead, we've got Rachel trying to get a new branch of the company set up, whilst nursing a hurting heart...but she's not alone. The kindness of a stranger, who doesn't remain a stranger for very long, will show her the true warmth of the north, and just might help to chase away the cold circling her heart. With a few meet cute type moments, the stage has been set...but whether he takes a starring roll remains to be seen because Rachel isn't that type of girl. She doesn't toy with hearts...but when you feel yours has been left behind, the stakes don't seem as high, nor the obstacles insurmountable.
So pack your bags and dress warm as you discover all the joys a new path in life can bring, all the friendships waiting out their to be made, and all the love that was right within your reach.
