Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
I've been off from work a few days and let me tell you...I'M LOVING IT. It's not often I get to take time off without having fifty different appointments to run others to, or work to catch up on, so this time without mandatory schedules, feels like heaven. I've made progress on my in-home library room, worked the yard, and read read read! Speaking of reading, one of my most recent trips through the epages is today's Rachel's Random Resources blog tour guest. It's a Romantic Comedy that'll get you in the mood...for the holidays (what did YOU think I meant?)...and of course there's a HEA to look forward to...in fact, several. Ready, set, let's get a little Christmasy as we take a closer look at today's ebook of choice...
Just Date and See

About the book...
Billie is looking forward to a quiet, man-free Christmas. It’s just a shame her family doesn't feel the same way…
With a house full of unexpected (and unwanted) guests, Billie needs to find the perfect escape to get away from the chaos.
So when her dating app recommends a week of singles nights in her area, Billie decides that braving these events has to be better than making conversation with her dad’s new wife, dealing with her mum's mid-life crisis or witnessing her sister flirting with her insufferably arrogant next-door neighbour.
While this is definitely not the festive season she had planned, between disco bowling and boozy bingo, little does Billie know that she may find love this year after all - she'll just have to date and see...
Fall in love with the perfect laugh-out-loud festive read from top 10 bestseller Portia MacIntosh.

Random "first things first" moment...
...when I went to review this one, I thought I had the wrong book!
Why? Well, it seems it went through a title change between when I got the blog tour invite and it was to be read/reviewed...talk about confused, because I was! The thing is...whether it kept the old title or this new one, it was definitely a case of "a rose is still a rose".
Billie was looking forward to her first quiet Christmas, all by herself in her newly renovated home. Sounds peaceful, right? Well, it DID sound peaceful, until her mom needed a place to stay until her new place was ready...and then her sister shows up unannounced....and then her dad and his new wife need accommodation....and then a blast from her past arrives, drunk and all...and suddenly her quiet holiday is turning her home into a bloody hotel! Good things she's full of holiday spirit. Good thing she can take anything head on, spread goodwill, and keep her good cheer. Good thing....she's single, and the dating app she use to use has an "in case of emergency" type button that suddenly fills her calendar with a WHOLE lot of mingling that simply must be done, and if it gets her out of the overcrowded house, so be it! Yes, Christmas is really looking up...and it doesn't hurt that there's a tall, dark, and sexy, fiendishly nice man at her first, well second, but still first, matcher meet up. Santa Baby, she's been an awfully good girl this year... Seriously, though, she's not looking for love, and yet that's generally when it finds you, but it won't be any smoother sailing than the rest of her holiday...then again, the best things in life often take a little work...
I loved Billie from the word go, and not simply because she's kind hearted, unable to leave anyone in a lurch, and simply looking forward to a little downtime in her own abode. I love how she took my perception of the first few pages and totally swung me around, complete 180. I'm reading, feeling melancholy, and BOOM...we're suddenly no longer feeling empathy for her, but rather laughing with relief that things aren't the way they first seemed! The laughs continue as the stresses pile up, and she seeks more time away with her new matcher friends. She and he are truly bad at pretty much everything they try, but it's not always about coming out on top, it's about enjoying one's self...and if it happens to be enjoyment shared, than you're definitely winning! Watching these two potentially come together after all the events they attend, sabotage, and laugh their way through was too much fun...until it wasn't and I wanted to slap a few about the ears, but all things come out right in the end, and THAT'S what really matters. You'll laugh, you'll tear, you'll count your lucky stars you don't have family like them, and yet wish they were some relation to you by book's end...all except the one chap because seriously, he's still a bit of an A-hole.
A great read now or for the holidays...so long as you read it!
