RRR presents... Too Hot To Handle by Portia MacIntosh - REVIEW!

Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers. Today, we join Rachel's Random Resources for a stop along their current tour featuring the latest release from author Portia MacIntosh! You know the name, you know her work, and, if you're like me, you're ready for more. Well, today's "more" is reader ready and fan approved, so let's get down to business! Today's featured title is...

Too Hot To Handle
by
Portia MacIntosh

About the book...
One bachelorette party. One stag do. One double-booked villa and only one way to decide who gets it: a competition.

Workaholic Molly is buzzing when her best friend tells her she’s getting married. As maid of honour Molly can’t wait for the perfect bachelorette party in Spain. What could be better than a week in a stunning villa? Sun, sea, cocktails and gossiping – and best of all, no boys allowed. But when the hens arrive they discover that they are not alone. The villa has been accidentally double booked by a group of stags who make it very clear they’re not leaving!

It’s a disaster, and no one wants to give up their place in paradise. Attempts at compromising fail instantly, so their only option is to have a winner takes all competition. Battle lines are drawn and it is girls v boys - but will the competition be too hot to handle?

As their rivalry heats up, and Molly finds herself gravitating towards stag Travis, it’s clear that he’s enjoying the attention - but Molly can’t let herself get distracted, and under no circumstances can she fall for the enemy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This book had me from the start!
The moment that we met Molly, I knew we were gonna be friends, well, in the epages at least. ☺️ She has a kind heart, but she's no doormat. She was squashed in love by the dastardly Dean (what, an a*&hat!), given a bowl full of laughs inadvertently thanks to a run in with the odious Mark (OMG, I wanted to smack him SO BAD, though she was no shrinking violet), and still her heart asked for more when it felt stirred. Grant it, the moment it does is rather inopportune, but at least it hasn't given up on her or her on it. 😉 From the break up to the engagement party, the hen do to the I do, Molly has ups, downs, and in-betweens, but by book's end, she'll get her chance. Just you wait and READ!
A great addition to this author's ever growing body of works, and a wonderful pick for your next weekend reading escape! If you're a romcom fan, this is definitely a title that should be on your TBR!
About the book...
For generations, the fortune-telling women in Lo Zhao-Jensen’s family have foreseen The One―the great loves of their lives―before ever meeting them. Except for Lo, who has zero psychic abilities. Just memories of old rom-coms and a lot of poor judgment when it comes to love.
Until now.
When Lo finally has the vision she’s been waiting for, her delighted aunties are convinced she’ll meet The One on her backpacking trip in Italy. Vero amore, here she comes.
Along for the summer is Lo’s best friend and confidant, Teller Owens, her opposite in every way. Upon arrival in Venice, Lo is saved from a runaway trolley by Caleb, a fellow backpacker. It’s a meet-cute so swoony, it has to be fate. But with each destination, Lo’s complicated feelings for Teller are becoming harder to ignore. From the cobblestone streets of Rome to the rocky cliffs of Amalfi, Lo begins to wonder if fate has other plans.
About the author...
RRR presents... Santa Maybe by Carla Luna - REVIEW!
Happy holidays!
Is it too early to be saying that?  GOOD QUESTION!  Technically, I'm undecided on the matter, but I do think that Thanksgiving is being given the bum rush at this point.  Poor little holiday isn't getting the attention it truly deserves anymore...but I digress.  Today's blog tour guest comes to us via Rachel's Random Resources, and stars the latest holiday release from author Carla Luna!  I've reviewed her work before, and happily doing so once again because it was A LOT of fun!  So whether you're HO-Ho-holiday-ing it up, or Bah-Hum-Bugging about, put a jingle in your reading with today's blog tour guest and ebook of choice...
Santa Maybe
by
Carla Luna
About the book...
Have yourself a merry little fauxmance—with a dashing Santa who just might make it real.
Rosie Gonzalez isn’t having a wonderful Christmas time. Not when she’s at risk of losing her job as assistant manager of the Duchess—Victoria’s oldest boutique hotel. If she and her team can’t bring in more guests by the end of December, she’ll be let go. Adding to her stress is a calendar filled with family gatherings where her mom will inevitably nag her for still being single.
Drew Richardson isn’t faring much better. As if working alongside his ex at Northlife Fitness wasn’t bad enough, now she’s invited him to her December wedding. And since all his coworkers will be there, bailing isn’t an option. To get through it, he’ll need a plus-one for moral support.
So, when Rosie recruits him to play Santa for her hotel’s activities, he also proposes a fake-dating scheme to benefit them both. Just for the holidays—nothing more. But as things between them turn from nice to naughty, they’ll have to decide whether a real relationship could be the best Christmas gift of all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fake romance trope, anyone?
How about a potential marriage of convenience?
Or maybe break it down to the base level of holiday romance?
Anyway you slice it, it comes off with a lot more attention than the last slice of holiday fruitcake.
Okay, so at my table that wouldn't be too hard to do...LOL...but seriously, this was a lot of fun!

From the various tropes running around that will draw their individual fan bases to the fabulous characters you'll be cheering on from the word go, the story potential was BIG and it lived right up to it!  I loved our leads, both Rosie and Drew.  They each had their histories, some shared and others not so much, and they each had their own challenges of the moment, which of course leads to the proposed solution for them both, but in the end, their hearts were totally in sync, and their chemistry was off the charts.  😉  ...no mistletoe needed, although the tree setup was PERFECTION!

If you're looking for a great holiday romance?  Check into The Duchess Hotel (see what I did there?!) and experience a staycation you won't want to forget.  OH, and did I mention it appears to be the first in a potential series?  Oh yeah...I'll be keeping room on my TBR for me!

Don't even pretend that you don't notice covers because honestly, if you don't know the work, or the author that penned it, the title, and cover art are the next things that draw your attention. Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel
by
Rebecca Raisin
Boldwood Books

About the book....

Turn a tumbledown Paris hotel into a perfect boutique, bookish retreat, and have it open for Christmas? What could possibly go wrong?
When Anais receives a near-derelict Paris hotel in her divorce settlement, her first thought is to tidy it up and sell it immediately. All she wants is to move on and forget her disaster of a marriage ever happened.

But selling it proves impossible, so she has only one option: to make it gorgeous and open by Christmas… when her funds will almost certainly run out.

She’s not counting on the grumpy American bar-owner next door, Noah, coming and interfering at every moment though. Nor is she expecting to find a mysterious room – which holds the key to a one-hundred-year-old secret – about a woman who chose love against the odds.

One thing’s for sure… as the fairy lights twinkle all over the city of lights and the first snowflakes start to fall… this will be a Christmas in Paris to remember.

A totally gorgeous, escapist romantic comedy, with an unforgettable mystery! A perfect festive read for fans of Emily Henry and Sarah Morgan to curl up with this winter.

RRR presents... TOUR WARS by Carla Luna - REVIEW!

All roads lead to love in today's featured title, but that doesn't mean there aren't a few bumps along the way. On tour with Rachel's Random Resources and stopping by today, we've got the latest travel adventure from author Carla Luna that you're simply going to love! Ready, set, let's get packed and ready to go as we jump between the epages of today's ebook of choice...

Tour Wars
by
Carla Luna

About the book...
Ten days, two rivals, and a busload of tourists. How bad could it be?

For archaeologist Emilia Flores, landing a fellowship to work at the ancient ruins of Pompeii in Italy is a dream come true. The only catch? She’ll be digging alongside her infuriating nemesis, TJ Mayer, who’s been a constant thorn in her side.

TJ isn’t about to pass up the Pompeii project. Sure, he’ll be stuck working with Emilia, but he thrives on challenging her. And he hasn’t forgotten that secret kiss they shared at an archaeology conference last winter.

Though unearthing Pompeii’s treasures might be a dream, student debt is a nightmare that never takes a vacation. So, when TJ and Emilia are offered a lucrative side job to lead a ten-day tour through Southern Italy, they grudgingly agree to tackle it together.

Forced to set aside their animosity and work as a team, they forge an unexpected camaraderie. As the sparks between them ignite, their rivalry gives way to passion, making it easy to forget their years of fierce competition. But what happens when the tour ends and the real world steps in?

Tour Wars is a rivals-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine romance featuring a nerdy cinnamon roll hero, a strong-willed Latina heroine, and plenty of hotel hijinks.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Emilia and TJ are the epitome of the enemies to lovers trope. They've been academic and professional rivals from day one, and all that tension bubbling just below the surface provide for some mighty fine potential when they're pushed together by circumstance one too many times. Let's just say that sparks definitely fly, making their connection a greater find than the most complete archeological discovery you could imagine.
I loved Emilia for who she was... driven, competitive, wanting to do things on her own, and reap the rewards of her efforts. She put herself into everything she did and wasn't afraid of hard work. TJ was very much the same, even if he had bad instincts when it came to matters of the heart, but even he catches up eventually, helping him put things to right and the both of them on the road to a happily-ever-after. There's a lot of fun to be had between the epages, and the story is one you won't want to leave behind come book's end. Good thing a reread is always an option. 😉
RRR presents... Can You Keep A Secret? by Jo Lovett - REVIEW!
It's often said that the only way to keep a secret is to either never tell it at all, or all but one party must have passed on.  Shocking, right?  Well, not so much if you REALLY think about it, but we're not taking that more morbid line of thought here today.  Our featured title currently touring with Rachel's Random Resources is touted as a Romantic Comedy, though I also see it as a Contemporary Fiction or Women's Fiction work, but however you slice it, it tackles a curious story line that is fun to see play out on the page.  In real life though...maybe not so much!  Let's get between the epages of today's ebook of choice and blog tour guest...
Can You Keep A Secret?
by
Jo Lovett
About the book...
One New Year’s Eve, Georgie James and her friends come up with a genius plan to help them stick to their resolutions… They all write down secrets, seal them in envelopes and then post them to each other. The secrets will be revealed at the end of the year if they haven’t kept their resolutions.
It’s perfect. Except…
Georgie's secret is BIG... and revealing it could destroy their friendships. She has no idea why she chose that one to write down. There are plenty of innocent things she could have said – even admitting she finds newcomer Raf incredibly annoying would have been better.
What she does know is that there’s no way she can let her secret be revealed. Which means she needs to keep her (nightmare) resolutions and, most importantly, get her envelope back before anyone can open it. Which, given she sent her secret to Raf, means spending a lot more time with him than she’d choose to...
A heartwarming romantic comedy for fans of Beth O’Leary and Mhairi McFarlane
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Really.  Can you imagine?  I mean, if the "game" is played right, you could totally be revealing something deep, dark, and otherwise unknown to your friends if your willpower to follow through on those resolutions fails, and let's face it, most fall victim to them!  This foursome, albeit under the influence, play it right, and, like most alcohol tainted choices, regret this one in the morning.  The thing is, no one is really adult enough to admit it, so they each go about as if it was a perfectly sane decision, aim to hit those targets set, and if not, lie through their teeth to avoid the consequences and fallout.  Do they succeed?  Some more than others, but through all the ups and downs, they each discover sides of themselves and each other they really never knew, and uncover other secrets as well as truths that were lying in wait for the right moment to come along.  By the time New Year's rolls around again, they're ready...come what may.

I liked the concept, and I loved the group of friends.  Their personalities were each distinct and unique, yet the meshed like good friends always seem to do.  Watching them each tackle their new year challenges was amusing, but the most laughs came from Georgie and Raf...among them, the mom scene.  HA!  Imagine being caught going through his things BY HIS MOM with no good explanation, and...yeah, trust me, you won't be able to stop at least a good giggle!  The story has wide range appeal for Fiction fans of many sub genres, and it doesn't purely cater to the female side either, depending on the male reader, of course.  All in all, it was a fun way to read the night away while I waited desperately to see just how they were going to get out of what they walked themselves into!

RRR presents... It's Complicated by Camilla Isley - REVIEW!

Romcom fan?
You've come to the right place today because Rachel's Random Resources is stopping by with a tour starring the latest from author Camilla Isley. This isn't my first rodeo with her work, and I've enjoyed my encounters in the past, so O couldn't wait to get between the epages of this one.  Care to join me? Let's go!

It's Complicated
by
Camilla Isley
Boldwood Books

About the book...
Lori has been in love with her best friend Aiden since college. Now Aiden (handsome, fair, All-American dream doctor) is getting married, and Lori desperately needs a date to the wedding.

So she asks the best man, Jace (tall, dark, and brooding), to pretend their platonic friendship is something more not to have to face the worst day of her life alone.

Fake dating one best friend to forget the other should be easy… Plot twist—it’s not. When Jace starts acting like the sweetest, most attentive boyfriend, Lori begins to wonder if she’s been seeing him wrong all this time?

They've been an inseparable trio since freshman year, but now everything is changing — and that's not even bringing Jace's feelings into the mix.

Basically? It’s complicated.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OMG! This book was SO much fun! We've got fake dating, unrequited love, a love triangle, and friends to lovers with a happily ever after twist you're simply going to love!
Lori had a crush on Aiden, Jace had a crush on Lori, and Aiden never really had a chance to understand what feelings he might have had for Lori thanks to a secret pact... which I will not be going into so I don't spoil the details. Anywho, one wedding announcement later, and Lori and Jace are presenting an unexpected, but united front to face the music... and falling in love along the way. It's sweet, funny, heartfelt with just the perfect amount of spice, you'll be laughing as much as you're sighing with every turn of the page.
By book's end, there's a happy surprise you won't see coming, but, trust me, you'll gladly be a witness to the events that unfold. A wonderful pick for romcom fans and Romance readers alike, and a great addition to this author's growing body of works!
RRR presents... Baby, One More Time by Camilla Isley - REVIEW!
Time for another Rachel's Random Resources blog tour and this time around, we've got a Romcom to get excited about! It's penned by author Camilla Isley, a familiar name for certain, and stars a woman looking to satisfy her biological clock on her own time-line that gets a most unexpected visit from heartbreak past. Ready or not, get ready to laugh, tear, and gasp as things unfold in today's ebook of choice...
Baby, One More Time
 by
Camilla Isley
About the book...
Driven and smart, Marissa Mayer has worked her way to COO at a major Fintech startup as well as launching her own successful app on the side. Now what she wants more than anything is a baby. And having given up on love after her heart was broken by the boy next door, she’s prepared to do it alone.
Recently returning to New York from LA, Dr John Raikes is an expert in his field of neonatal medicine. But when John introduces himself as Marissa’s doctor, sparks fly, and not in a good way. Because Dr John Raikes is no stranger: he’s her teenage sweetheart all grown up.
Marissa knows she should keep John at arm’s length, lest she have her heart broken again... but there’s something about a man in a white coat. And with John determined to show Marissa he’s changed, can she keep saying no when her heart is saying yes?
A gorgeously funny enemies-to-lovers, second-chance rom com, perfect for fans of Sarah Adams, Lynn Painter and Jo Watson.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Once upon a time, she offered her heart on a platter... only to have it unexpectedly returned to sender. True, they were teenagers, and it was a classic prom night scenario, but that didn't excuse the damages left behind. Flash forward 16 years and you've got a meet-not-so-cute in the making that you'd never anticipate... with twists and turns along the way to complicate things even further.

Marissa had a right to bear the grudge she carried...what John did back then was inexcusable. In the light of day so many years later and with an explanation delivered as to why it happened, I gotta say... she took it better than I would have. I suppose what they say about love being blind certainly applies to the blinders we place on our hearts when feelings run high, but while Marissa may have been willing to forgive on the surface, she certainly wasn't forgetting, and when things get further out of control, it'll all come down to trust, and, ultimately, love. Watching the feelings they had back then reignite was heartwarming, as was the author's reigned in approach to their potential reconciliation. It had just enough of a ring of truth to be believable without sacrificing the comedic aspect of the story.

By book's end, readers get the happy ending they've been waiting for, but the hope, what, and why of it all is a lightly cloaked mystery you'll have to uncover! Great pick for fans of the author's previous works, as well as Romcom readers looking for a new name to add to their reading rotation.

This is one of those delicious little stories that you just want to curl up with and kick back. I mean seriously...I wish I had a week to read this one slowly from cover to cover in order to indulge in the humor tinged love and life story within. Did I take that long? Alas, no.... my schedule wouldn't allow that, but I did enjoy my time between the epages for the overall tale, but especially the characters!

Becky and Drew...
She's a transplant from merry old London, but whether running away from or towards something remains to be seen.  He's a high powered attorney, making his way through each day with nary a smile or laugh, as he works the high powered legal proceedings on his way to the top. Together, they probably would be happy, but apart drives both of their hearts to the brink. I loved them for who they were and how they were with each other. The feelings they shared were startling for each of them, but felt wonderfully right to the rest of us. Though secrets threaten to stall whatever may be growing been them, as long as there's hope, love will find a way.

All in all, a great read for Romcom fans and the start to what sounds like a fabulous series!

Love To Hate You

About the book...
Goodbye New York! Hello… Cowboy?

If Samantha’s Baker’s life were as simple as one of the movies she produces, when she – a latte-loving city girl - gets banished to the country and fights with the local hunk cowboy soon afterwards they’d fall in love. But everyone knows the movies aren’t real life! (And just FYI, Mr Cowboy, it’s not gonna happen!)

Travis Hunt knows what it’s like to miss the city. He’s given up everything to take over the family ranch and become mayor of Emerald Creek. He has responsibilities. But how does he convince a gorgeous, hot-shot executive like Samantha to swap her stilettos for cowboy boots and her Friday night cocktails for country dance competitions? Small town life just can’t compete with all the hustle and bustle of New York City.
But what if it’s not where you are that you call home… What if it’s who you find while you’re there?

Please note that this title was originally published as Sweet Love and Country Roads.

Sam was a city girl through and through, until she wasn't. Well that's not exactly true... she still loved the city, but she grew to love the hearts she encountered in this backwoods little town in nowhere Indiana. The fresh air, and room to spare, didn't do much for her, but the horned little farm helper, and their Fluffy companion driveline stole hearts, along with a particular man that wore many hats...

Travis was a small town life man through and through only he wasn't once upon a time. He had a past that had him in the city, but that past also held hardship and heartache that he doesn't wish to fall into again. Good thing he's enemy number one to Sam reaching her professional goals, so there's no chance his heart will become part of the equation. Right? I mean, there's only so far a great pair of legs, a killer figure, a brilliant mind, and a kind heart will get you...but then again the fact that he notices all of this and loves antagonizing the woman it's all a part of, he's in trouble.

Together they shouldn't work, but the sparks that fly when they are could start their own wildfire if left to burn unchecked. Good thing they are both too responsible to let that happen, so whatever it takes to gain control...a hot moment kiss, a roll in the hay (quite literally), a night under the stars... is something they are totally in support of. For the good of the town, the movie production, the...oh heck, for their own hearts!

A great romcom escape for fans of the genre, and a wonderful way for new readers to discover an author who oblivious loves her work.
