About the book...
Charity is a fairy godmother. She doesn’t wear a poofy dress or go around waving a wand, but she does make sure the deepest desires of the student population at Jack London High School come true. And she knows what they want even better than they do because she can glimpse their perfect futures.

Making this existential crisis way worse is Noah—the adorkable and (in Charity’s opinion) diabolical ex of one of her past clients—who blames her for sabotaging his prom plans and claims her interventions are doing more harm than good. He demands that she stop granting wishes and help him get his girl back. At first, Charity has no choice but to play along. But soon, Noah becomes an unexpected ally in getting to the bottom of the glimpses. Before long, Charity dares to call him her friend…and even starts to wish he were something more. But can the fairy godmother ever get the happily ever after?

Think Cinderella's fairy godmother minus the poofy dress, younger, and with far more attitude...which trust me, she'll need in order to get out of the pickle she finds herself in!
Can you imagine? I mean, being a fairy godmother sounds great in theory, and I could totally get the satisfaction of granting someone else's wish, albeit she doesn't go about it in the waving a magic wand type fashion, but the adult in me is like...all that responsibility! Being in charge of them reaching their happily-ever-after? What happens if it DOESN'T work that way? What if the thing they want isn't really what's best for them? I suppose we could call it quits after getting them to that dreamed of moment, but man...my conscience wouldn't allow it...and I suppose that's what really gets our girl Charity into trouble here too.
You see, Charity really cares about all those she's helped with her GLIMPSING abilities (which are tre cool, but not extremely reliable as we slowly find out!), but when she's found out, and shown the supposed light of what actually happened to them after the supposed HEA...all that certainty, all that bravado (humble as it was) is blown to pieces. It's a lot for anyone to take and it really puts her in a bad place...good thing she's strong enough to fight back, though who or what she is fighting is yet to actually be clear. I'll tell you one thing though, despite the whole "Can't Buy Me Love" makeover visually and socially for Noah....I had SUCH A HARD TIME LIKING HIM! I suppose it has something to do with how he tried to clip our fairy godmother's wings (and the dueling pepper spray incident definitely didn't work in his favor!), but it was really difficult not to reach through the pages and smack him upside the head. I get the changes that occur as everyone gets to know everyone, but as YAY as I was about the ending, I still harbored feelings against that boy. *hmmpf*
All in all, a unique walk in the magically tinged steps of a teenage fairy godmother that you never saw coming with an outcome that's hard to believe...but I think it really goes to show you that wishes are best left to stars, and sometimes, just maybe, we have to trust in fate to know what's really best for us.
