In this fast, feel-good romp from
a New York Times bestselling author, forbidden love blooms
between a runaway bride and the man sent to find her…
Lady Tabitha Kerr was promised at
birth to be the Viscount Oldfield’s bride. Their families had warred for
generations, and this union will heal the longstanding rift. But Tabitha
doesn’t want to be a pawn—or a consolation prize. She dreams of a love match,
and failing that, at least one night of true love. Even if she has to run away
to find it!
As Viscount Oldfield’s trusted man of
business, Mr. Hudson Frampton is his lordship’s right-hand man, attack dog, and
fixer. When a nervous bride jilts the viscount at the altar, Hudson is meant to
find and return her to his employer posthaste. He is not supposed to fall in
love. Or kiss his employer’s bride. Or say yes when Tabitha makes an indecent
proposal that will ruin them both…

I've read a few titles in this series, and they've yet to disappoint!
This time around, we've got a dutiful daughter promised since birth to an old curmudgeon to help heal the rift between the families. (*coughs* YEAH RIGHT *coughs*) Needless to say, she longs for a love match, but fearfully will never have the chance to experience one to honor her father's dying wish. Meanwhile, the old Viscount has his man of business babysitting his betrothed so she doesn't run away and ruin his plans... which suffice it to say do not include a happy ever after for her in any form. Good thing for Tabitha, Hudson may be employed by the viscount, but he doesn't share the same shady nature or ruthless behavior. Good thing he's had a thing for her for quite some time and while he'd never act on it, it doesn't mean the right invitation at the right time will be turned away. 😉
Watching this one unfold was a joy... except where the viscount was concerned, because he wasn't worth his title in more ways than one. Hudson was by far the bigger man in this situation, title be darned, and he deserved a chance at happily-ever-after, as did our brave girl, Tabitha! Her quick thinking got her the time away she needed to find what she'd been missing, and give herself a chance to discover all that could be.
A great read for Historical Romance fans who don't mind some steamy situations, and adore a HEA!
