About the book...
I’ve got ninety-nine problems and my brother’s snarky, smart-mouthed best friend Sam is tangled up in every last one of them.

When it comes to firefighter Sam O’Shea, absence—and a regime of tactical avoidance—has been working for me just fiiiine. But when the audition of a lifetime falls in my pathetically broke lap, and he’s the only one who can help me land the job, I’m willing to make a deal with the devil if it means I can kickstart my career as a narrator for audio books.

The problem? We’d have to actually do the job. Together. And then we’re told it’s for an erotic romance. Narrating steamy lines in a tiny studio with a man who lights a fire under your skin? An occupational hazard. Accidentally inciting a town scandal when your erotic audiobook clips wind up on the radio? A crisis. And falling for the one man I promised my brother—and my heart—I wouldn’t touch?

A disaster—and temptation—I can’t resist.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, there are so many places to start, my thoughts keep scattering to the wind...but let me see if I can wrangle them into some sort of order.
First, the title...love the playful play on words, and it totally fits the story.  Yes, the novel they end up narrating is more erotica than romance, but their actual story, their dialogue outside the recording closet (not a typo!) is more flirty than downright dirty (whew!).  Second, the characters and the ginormous family surrounding them are absolutely precious!  I know, I know, how can I use THAT word right after the others I just typed seems confusing, and yet, it's so true!  The Bellini's are a force to reckoned with, for better or worse, and those they take into their confidence possess something extraordinary as well.  Whether it be strength of character, honesty, decision making capabilities, or physical attributes, there is something that calls to their overwhelming hearts and makes you one of them.  That's definitely a plus on Sam's side of things...not that he needed many pluses because he's certainly capable of getting those on his own.
I wasn't set to love Sam, but rather loathe him, at first, because HELLO...talk about a history hard to ignore for our leading lady, but once she came around, once the truth came out, once things were spoken that shoulda, coulda, woulda solved things so long ago, I was a big fan.  Sam isn't just looks, though those are certainly not lacking.  He's got a heart of gold, and good intentions to boot, and while some of that gets him into trouble, it's nothing that a little help from his friends can't help him set right...eventually.  As for our gal Piper, I could totally get behind her character's issues, dreams, dilemmas, and inability to say no to her family because she simply cares for them too much.  It's not a bad thing, until it becomes a bad thing, but I digress...it helps shed light on the fact that she shuts down instead of rocking the boat, something that comes in handy when the time is right.  Their friends and family are all memorable in their own ways, from her pain-in-the-you-know-where brother you definitely means well to her goddess of a mother with a brood big enough to make the lady in the how jealous...there's nary a one you won't come away feeling better having met.  Now on to that story...
It was definitely a his dream versus her dream plot that had all these monkey wrenches flying in to tear of the works.  Trust me, they DO tear up things something fierce, I mean billboards and radio spots taking aim at your "day job" while insinuating bad moral choices would do that to anyone, and yet through it all, it solidifies what each of them has found.  It shakes things up, but makes it clearer to both parties just what is most important.  I've never thought about the career of a voice actor, and while reading a story such as they encounter on your own is one thing, having to read it with someone else while playing those parts...OMG!  How in the hey-day do they do it?!  I get it, it's just a job, but whew...this story would have been enough to combust an audio track at times...I'm not certain I want to know how the story within the story would have turned out!
In the end, it definitely turns up the heat, but the heart of the story brings it all home.
~~~ GUEST POST ~~~

Why Does Teaching Money Mindfulness to Kids Matter
...with Author David Delisle

Whenever we think about money, our entire focus is on how to have more. Even when we teach our kids to save, the entire reason for this lesson is so that they can have MORE to buy something more expensive later. And this is why it doesn’t matter how much we have, we never have enough.

It is okay to want more and to save and grow your money. But before we teach our kids this lesson, they need to first learn why they would want more in the first place. They need to learn what’s really important to them. What is the stuff that truly brings them joy? What is their awesome stuff?

For everyone, the answer to this question will be different. For some it will be things, for others it will be experiences, and for most it will be a combination of the two. It’s not the answer that’s important. It is the awareness where the magic happens and you begin to shift your focus from always wanting more, towards what’s really important to you.

One of my favorite Golden Rules of Money is, “Only buy the Awesome Stuff”. The rule is that before you spend your money on something, pause for a moment and simply ask yourself, “Is this the Awesome Stuff?”. And if the answer is no…don’t buy it.

Instead of feeling sad because you couldn’t buy something and still really want it, you will realize that it wasn’t something you wanted in the first place and instead focus on those things that really are important to you.

This mindful approach to money is the only way that we can break the endless cycle of wanting more.

This is the missing first lesson that we aren’t teaching our kids.

It really is that easy to change the way we think about money and begin our journey to a rich life.

Home Sweet Ather... SPARK OF ASH by Molly E. Lee - REVIEW!

HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

O.M.G. Is it just me, or are there an UBER amount of GREAT TITLES coming out this summer? I mean, I know my reading list has been LIT, and today's BOOK BIRTHDAY WEEK celebrant is definitely right at the top of the stack. It's the third and final book (😢) book in the Ember of Night series from author Molly E. Lee via Entangled Teen and I'm telling you guys, if you haven't already read the first two, you have no idea what you've been missing! But, if you have...then you are more than ready for today's post because the conclusion to this little trio was A-MA-ZING! Ready or not, pack your bags because we're heading to the Ather to raise a little h*ll as we set out sights on today's ebook of choice...

Ember of Night, Book 3

About the book...
The Seven—the Divine beings meant to protect the world—just declared war. On me. They took Ray, my baby sister, and now they’re using my boyfriend to do their dirty work.

Well, screw that.

I may not be able to wipe them off the face of the earth now, but I know what can.

Thanks to an Ather connection, I know about the Seven Scrolls. An ancient incantation made by the Creator to counteract the Seven’s great power, scattered into pieces across the world.

With the help of my new crew, we’re on the hunt. And with each located scroll, I face new battles, bloodier and harder than I’ve ever known before. But now the stakes are even higher, because Ray has always been my bright light in the darkness, and Draven is my hope when all seems lost, and if I don’t get them back?

Well, then I might just become the scariest legend the world has ever known.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Harley is back and ready to kick some heavenly a**!
Well, who could blame her?  I mean, she was given the short end of the stick her whole life, found a way to make it through the earthly h*ll, only to find out that HEY, her home was actually there to begin with, discovered her mate, and formed a family out of a motley crew of INCREDIBLE peo...souls...that she can count on to the end of time.  Oh, and now one of the Seven with a severe power trip decides to flick the switch on Draven (😍) and interfere with her beloved little sis, just to pull the invisible puppet strings on Harley to do his bidding.  ~~  insert evil laugh  ~~~  Yeah, about that...she doesn't take kindly to being told what to do, let alone when you're threatening the ones she loves, so get ready for more than a few fireworks because this girl means BUSINESS, and she's bringing it with both guns blazing, or rather her birthright kicking up to full capacity and all the surprises it brings may not be what they were counting on.
O.M.G.
I know, I keep saying that, and I'm really not in the age range for that to be a part of every other sentence I utter, or type, but it's really what you're left with once you've finished this book!  It was the perfect ending to what has been a FABULOUS series.  It was everything fans could want (well, almost...read it and you'll understand), and didn't even know to ask for.  There's everything we came to love from the prior books with steady character growth, familiar faces both welcome and not so much, and new friends to welcome into the fold.  Remember Wrath?  Say hi to Pagle...dearly nicknamed Pagle Bagle!  She's like a mini-wooly mammoth with special powers, and so stinking cute!  Then there's the residents of some of the more peaceful realms within the Ather who actually weren't trying to kill our gal Harley while she's on her mission.  Of course with the good, there's the bad...and some SERIOUSLY creepy moments within a treehouse that you'd never wish to see...but that's always been a part of the journey.  The yin and the yang.  The light and the dark.  The Antichrist and the Judge.  The Rainer and...well, that's a secret, but you'll see when you read it...all about that and OH SO MUCH MORE!
Deadly Curiosities Book 5
by Gail Z. Martin
Genre: Supernatural Mystery Adventure
A dark witch dynasty.
A malicious, immortal undersea place-spirit.
Eternal guardians who wagered their souls to protect Charleston.
Omens of impending disaster have the city of Charleston on edge. Tremors warn of earthquake risk, while a potentially catastrophic storm gathers strength over the ocean and heads for land.
A last-man-standing promise among elderly veterans creates a dangerous inheritance involving an imprisoned, wish-granting goblin. A sea captain and a swashbuckler worked blood magic to protect Charleston from an ancient evil with a spell that bound their souls and their descendants to the task, but danger looms as its power fades. The head of a witch family wants artifacts and secrets—and he'll do anything to get them.
Cassidy Kincaide runs Trifles and Folly, an antique and curio store where her touch magic helps get cursed and haunted objects out of the wrong hands. More than once, she and her allies have saved the world from supernatural threats.
The clock is ticking for Cassidy and her friends to stop the dark warlock, capture the goblin, and restore the guardian spell before a malevolent ancient entity takes its vengeance on Charleston and the coast. It's going to take all the magic, courage, and quick thinking they can muster—and for once, that might not be enough.
Double your reading pleasure with Harlequin DESIRE!
Hi guys!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
We're kicking off Memorial Day weekend with a BOOKISH bang as we set our sights on a duo of Harlequin Desire titles that are ready and willing to give their own firework show...if you catch my drift. 😉  So in between all the festivities, memorials, and family time, GET YOUR READ ON with this selection of short, yet oh so sweet (mostly!) books perfect for a weekend escape.  Ladies and gents, today's books of choice are center stage...
by
Cynthia St. Aubin
About the book....
To oust his twin brother from the billion-dollar family food empire, CEO Samuel Kane sets him up to violate their father’s cardinal rule: no company romances. Enter Samuel’s new hire, Arlington Banks—the one woman his brother chased but never caught. Too bad the plan backfires when Samuel falls for the bait himself. Because Samuel and Arlie have a long-simmering history of their own. As things heat up between them, will his deception cost him everything—or will the secret Arlie’s keeping do the trick?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A little subterfuge never hurt anyone...right?
Well, okay, so feelings get hurt, and there's definitely more to the story on BOTH sides than either Samuel or Arlie put on the table, but in the end, the just desserts are rewarding for EVERYONE involved!  I loved the good brother, bad brother vibe...though in retrospect, the good was playing at being bad with the whole setup business, but I digress...he had good intentions at heart, even if HE didn't know what his heart was trying to tell him.  She was trying to get her feet back under her after having more than a rug pulled, but the games she steps into are far beyond what her healthy curiosity could have conjured.  I'll just say this...thank goodness for good friends that will kick us in the pants when we need it, and thank heavens for astute observations because it can mean the difference between getting up close and personal with the man of our dreams...versus his brother!
A great story with revenge, second chances, and an HEA you'll adore!
About the book....
Shy Lone Star heiress Caitlyn Lattimore is eager to ditch her wallflower status. So when her best friend playfully suggests she practice dating, Caitlyn goes one further. She asks friend of a friend Dev Mallik to give her boyfriend lessons. The spark between them soon turns fun into fire. But is Caitlyn setting herself up for heartbreak? Because Dev’s exacting parents want just the right woman for their son—and they aren’t so sure she’s the one…
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A book for all the shy, out of practice gals out there that have it, but perhaps don't quite know how to flaunt it!  Caitlyn was a gem, even with her random turns as a fountain (inside joke!).  She had a heart of gold that had been smashed by an idgit and with her inhibitions slightly lowered, she spoke out of turn...and gained the world.  It's hard to lay your heart on the line, especially so openly and honestly with revelations that may seem embarrassing to some, but as I said, she was a star, as was the recipient of the chance she gave.  Dev was a surprise, especially when we find out how involved his family is with his life (it's a culture thing), but it was refreshing.  He was trying to strike out on his own, and yet still maintain that connection with his family, respectfully.  Grant it, he could have acted a bit faster when Caitlyn is mistaken for a lady of the night by his father...don't ask, or rather READ IT...but by book's end, he redeemed himself in my eyes...and I'm very curious to see how things play out for other characters mentioned as they try to unravel the mystery around the Lattimore estate!
A great story filled with smiles, laughs, a dash of steam, and an HEA you'll be more than satisfied with in the end.
About the book...
Dash and Zoom are really good friends. But when Dash takes things that don’t belong to her, even Zoom’s ball, there’s a problem to be solved because not only is Dash taking things that don’t belong to her, but she’s also hurting Zoom’s feelings.
Kids often have a difficult time understanding that they shouldn’t take things that don’t belong to them. When we don’t rescue kids from mistakes and instead focus on the solution, it’s an opportunity to help them learn to make good choices. The illustrations are extremely engaging and it’s always fun to see how many things you can find under that precarious chair.
Dash And Zoom: Little Miss Sneakypants is written for young children who are learning social norms. It exemplifies good decision-making and helps kids solve problems rather than being ‘in trouble’ for making a mistake. If children are approached with the opportunity to fix what is wrong without fear of anger it often contributes to good decision-making skills all throughout their lives. These two dogs are so engaging that children will want to read the book again and again.
How Books Can Help Teach Children About Caring For Others
...by Susan Stolz
‘Research in human development clearly shows that the seeds of empathy, caring, and compassion are present from early in life, but that to become caring, ethical people, children need adults to help them at every stage of childhood to nurture these seeds into full development.’ ~ Harvard Graduate School Of Education Making Caring Common Project *
Although I cannot speak for all books or the intent any author may or may not have in their message, I can speak for mine.
For better or worse we’ve spent the past 40 years or so teaching children that their feelings are the most important thing, and their wants a close second. By doing so we’ve raised generations on children that are self-absorbed, and self-centered. I don’t think any of this was intentional, however it has had a great impact on how those children now relate to others as adults.
Here’s an example. As a child I was taught to look both ways when I crossed the street, yield to oncoming traffic, and hurry if there were cars waiting to turn. Not so in today’s world. People just step off the curb without looking and stroll casually across the street keeping traffic waiting. This attitude of self- importance is misguided and to say the least dangerous and is, actually, teaching children to make others responsible for their well-being.
I know, the above example is simple, and doesn’t apply to everyone, but how do we overcome the attitude of such extreme self-importance and learn to think about others? It has to start early, and we have to cultivate children’s innate concern for others, so that they can empathize with others and learn to build stronger relationships, which is key to happiness throughout their lifetime.
In the book Dash and Zoom: Little Miss Sneakypants, Dash takes things that belong to others and hides them (or so she thinks! LOL) under a chair. But what happens when she decides to take Zoom’s ball? Zoom is her best friend and loves that ball beyond measure. It’s with her on every page. But Dash has now hurt Zoom’s feelings and has to make a choice. Does she put her own wants above that of her friend?
What I like about this book is that we give Dash the option to do what is right rather than scolding or punishing. Although reprimand is often necessary, in my opinion I believe that small children will make the right choice more often than not and when we help them make good decisions and think about the consequences of their actions, they begin to develop a skill that will serve them well throughout their lifetime. This enforces pondering a situation carefully and decision-making based on their critical thinking.
The interaction in this book invites conversation, discussion, and opens the opportunity to help children think, a skill that will never be wasted.
