Lucky for him the shores he washed up on are friendly...or at least inhabited by some that are. Lucky for him the person that discovers him at his worst means him no harm and has a history rooted in healing. Lucky for him, things turn out as they do because it'd be easy to take advantage of the situation for better or worse. Royce and Iona are at different points in their lives, but at heart they are in sync, and that's what makes this story so heartwarming. He's suffered recent setbacks, she has in her past, but neither will let those obstacles stand between them and what's to come. Their determination is to be applauded, while their stubbornness allows for some smile worthy situations, including a few for fear old Jack!
