Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

How to make the most of living in the Italian countryside | Italy ...

Today, we're shining the book spotlight on a title celebrating its BOOK BIRTHDAY!  It's the second release in author Olivia Spring's The Middle-Aged Virgin series, but if you've not read the first, fear not...neither had I and it worked just fine as a standalone.  Ladies and gents, but most definitely more for the ladies, let's get ready to jet set to the land of pasta, piazzas, and amore (or is it?) with today's ebook of choice...

About the book...
Can a holiday romance lead to long-term love?

When Sophia moves to Tuscany to be with Lorenzo, she dreams of finally having it all: the amazing boyfriend, the baby she’s always wanted, the great career and the fairy-tale life in an idyllic town. But the reality is very different…

The only Italian Sophia seems to have mastered since arriving is pasta, prosecco and gelato. She suddenly finds herself dealing with Lorenzo’s meddling mother and juggling caring for her son with running a business hundreds of miles away, and there’s a problem in the bedroom department…

Despite Lorenzo being hotter than chilli sauce, since becoming a mum, Sophia has zero desire to get jiggy. None. After several months without any action, she’s in danger of becoming a Middle-Aged Virgin. Again.

Can Sophia get her sex life back? Will her holiday romance go the distance so she can find her happily-ever-after in Italy?

Join Sophia on her laugh-out-loud Italian adventures today as she steps out of her comfort zone and attempts to relight her fire and enjoy la dolce vita with hilarious encounters along the way.

Buy The Middle-Aged Virgin in Italy now and start reading this fun, sexy sequel about motherhood, friendship, following your heart and keeping the spark alive in a relationship.

I can see why the author writes under a pen name because WHEW!  Some of the situations our girl Sophie gets into are definitely a few shades of red more than a blush!

When we meet Sophie, the initial shine of living in Italy with the love of her love and her new baby is starting to wear off.  No longer is the setting picturesque, the village quaint, and the language lyrical.  Now, it's so far from everything, hard to traverse, and a stumbling block to be understand by those who choose not to expand their horizons.  In short, she's having a difficult time of things, and the change of locale, long distance between her and her friends, business maneuvers, and "well meaning" in laws are about to push her over the proverbial edge.  Her other half, Lorenzo, is understanding of the changes she's going through and trying to be supportive, but allowing the wool to be pulled one too many times over his eyes has Sophie seeing red (with good reason!).  Everything adds up to a disaster in the making, and that's not even factoring in the abruptly interrupted adult activities (by his mother no less!), run ins with the local elders at the grocery, and the suddenly can't be depended on coworker back in London.  Sophie's a big girl, but even the best of us needs a helping hand at some point...

Personally, there was a bit too much focus on her getting her drive back for my own liking, but I get it, life happens, and that can certainly be a part of it. On the total plus side of things, Guli's influence is definitely hoot worthy, and let's just say she's not afraid of anything...and I do mean ANTHING!  I love how she made learning a new language FUN (and rather practical!) again, and how she always had their backs no matter what.  Speaking of which, that best girl friends act was definitely not an act from her gal pals from London either; true blue friends to the end.  Alas, I can't get by without mentioning Lorenzo again.  He means well, but ai mama, when it comes to his mother, it's like she can do no wrong!  All in all, I'd say it seemed like a rather realistic portrayal of what could happen if we only allow ourselves to be happy, healthy, and let go...and really, we're all just trying to live our best lives, so I suppose Sophie is a shining example indeed!

About the author...

I write under the pen name Olivia Spring to spare the blushes of those who know me and may read the racy sex scenes included in my books. Becoming an author has always been a lifelong dream and as writing is now my full-time focus, I am finally fortunate enough to call my passion my career. That means I get to spend my days sitting at my desk or in the park (and occasionally, if I’m really lucky, on a nice Mediterranean beach!), creating cool characters and stories to share with you.
