RRR presents... THE SCOUNDREL'S BARTERED BRIDE by Virginia Heath - REVIEW + GIVEAWAY!

Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

It's been a hot second since I've featured one of my FAVORITE author's on here, so when Rachel's Random Resources brought the tour for her latest release to my inbox...I WAS SO THERE!  Seriously, I grabbed my calendar, sought out the dates, and send my reply with baited breath that I would score a lucky spot on the tour.  Guess what readers...TADA!  HERE IT IS!

So, this author...writes Historical Romance, and I gotta say, I've honestly loved every one of them that I've read thus far.  No lie!  They're always well written with sassy and smart female leads, paired against generally smart, sometimes undercover, and easily befuddled by the opposite sex, male counterparts that leave you with a story you can't take your eyes from.  Ready to see if today's measured up?  GOOD...because I sure am!  Ready, set, let's get to the main event as we take a gamble on today's book of choice and blog tour guest...

About the book...

Marriage…To the highest bidder

Lady Lydia Barton cannot seem to avoid Owen Wolfe since he returned after being wrongly transported for stealing her family’s jewels! But Lydia has more pressing problems―like her impending arranged marriage. Until Owen makes her father a counter-offer for her hand. Is Owen purely after her society connections? Or does Lydia dare hope that the charming stable boy she once loved is still within her ruthless, wealthy new husband?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Right from the start, the chemistry between Lydia and Owen is SO obvious, despite the years that have passed and circumstances that have changed between them.  Kicking things off at a public affair, allowed us to see their snipey flirtatious ways in action from the word go, and yet...you also caught a glimpse of the golden heart beneath Owen's bravado.  His namesake may say wolf...but when it comes to Lady Lydia, he's more of a pup...just don't go saying that out loud because he'll deny it at rather high volumes and I must say I agree with his business partner's wife, Gertie, if one must yell about it, it's probably not a truth.
Lady Lydia was definitely sold the short end of the stick in SO MANY ways, and you get a notion right from the beginning that despite the events that separated them, they are still tethered at heart.  Really though, with his good guy streak seen in action, it was very hard to believe Owen did what he was accused of...and even though Lydia likes him to believe she believed everyone, I don't believe she ever truly did...she just couldn't bear her heart to be broken all over again if it did in fact prove true.  Let's just say all things are revealed in good time...and though surprising in some ways, in others it was more a confirmation.
All in all, another FABULOUS read from an author who is most definitely on my auto-buy list.  She's yet to disappoint, and her story's always leave me delighted by book's end.  In fact, I started reading this one on my lunch break at work and by break's end, I was already 25% into the read...without even trying!  You know those book's you're glad to race through because you want to know the ending, but also sad because it's over?  Yeah...definitely this one, but hey...I can always read it again, right?  Highly recommended for Historical Romance fans and those who have already discovered the wonders of Virginia Heath's writing world!
About the author...
When Virginia Heath was a little girl it took her ages to fall asleep, so she made up stories in her head to help pass the time while she was staring at the ceiling. As she got older, the stories became more complicated, sometimes taking weeks to get to the happy ending. Then one day, she decided to embrace the insomnia and start writing them down. Despite that, it still takes her forever to fall asleep.
