Happy BOOK BIRTHDAY wishes to... PRIDE COMES BEFORE A FALL by Virginia Heath!

Why hello there! 👋
Nice to see you again.

Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers. Today's BOOK BIRTHDAY post features the latest addition to the Miss Prentice’s Protegees series by author Virginia Heath via St. Martin's Griffin, and if you don't recognize that name by now, you're probably new around here. Don't worry, I'll catch you up 😉...

From the publisher...
Despite his many responsibilities, there is nothing Leopold Sloane, the 11th Duke of Debden, takes more seriously than the safety of those he loves. When one of his sisters is injured at a protest rally, he drags his family to Bath for the summer to keep his reckless and rebellious siblings out of harm’s way. The only flaw in his plan is his overwhelming but inexplicable attraction to the new chaperone he has hired to watch out for them. An outspoken conundrum of a woman who soon causes him more trouble than both his sisters combined...but who calls to his soul regardless.

From the moment Portia Kendall read her first revolutionary pamphlet beneath her bedcovers at Miss Prentice’s School for Girls, she realized that her true calling was to make the world a fairer place for the masses downtrodden by the aristocracy. A calling that led her to Equitas, a radical newspaper that champions reform. But as Portia discovers, writing doesn’t pay the bills. To make a living, she must push aside her principles and serve the very people she criticizes weekly in her column. A temporary position as a chaperone in the home of a pompous duke seems like the perfect way to earn enough to follow her heart. Unfortunately, the duke who hires her seems to be more dashing and noble than pompous and soon begins to call to her heart too—as much as she tries to deny it. But dare she risk her principles for love or will her pride always come before a fall?

💕 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕

FROM ME...
I know, I know, I'm a broken record on this topic, IT BARES REPEATING...
THIS IS ONE OF MY AUTO BUY AUTHORS! 🙌

 I love her characters, her storylines, the wit and wisdom she pours into every corner of her works. Leopold means well, but protection to some is overbearing to others... and he never counted on that added buffer he was adding for his sisters being someone his own intentions might grow to include. Portia sets out with good and noble intentions herself, but soon her righteous quest is sidetracked by the truth beneath the pomp and circumstance, leading her to contemplate which takes priority...her goals, or her heart. ❤️ I tell you, fair readers, you're in for a treat as these two clash, but eventually find their way to deliver that happy ending we do desire. *sigh*

So HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY to the latest addition to her catalog and the third FABULOUS installment of the MISS PRENTICE'S PROTEGEES series! (*WOOT WOOT*) If you're a Historical Fiction fan, you do not want to miss this one, let alone the rest of the series... available now via St Martin's Griffin.

Special thanks to the publisher for eARC access via NetGalley. (THANKS!) Be sure to snag your copy today wherever books are sold...or, if you're like me, await your preorder to arrive in your mailbox 📬... anxiously, but excited 😊!

Until next time, if it looks good...READ IT!

Happy BOOK BIRTHDAY wishes to... LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP by Virginia Heath!

Hi guys!
Welcome back!  Today's second, but equally spectacular post features the latest addition to the Miss Prentice’s Protegees series by author Virginia Heath...

From the publisher...
Nine years ago, Lord Guy Harrowby, Viscount Wennington, was publicly humiliated by a failed and reckless romantic gesture. Despite this, his mother clings to the promise he made her then: that she would have a house full of grandchildren by his thirtieth birthday. Still single, embittered, and swiftly approaching thirty, Guy's work is his life. In desperation, his mother blindsides Guy with a weeklong house party at his estate filled with annoying debutantes, all competing to be his wife.

After failing as a governess, Lottie Travers is struggling as a lady’s companion. Raised in an all-male household, she’s developed habits that get her dismissed. Even after years of Miss Prentice’s teachings of how to be a lady, she climbs trees better than she embroiders and can’t resist riding horses astride, in breeches. But with the family farm in trouble, and her father now in dire need of her wages, she’s determined to conquer her wildness once and for all.

Even with his home full of eligible women, there is only one who catches Guy’s eye—though he tries to deny it. For Lottie, succeeding in her new role proves difficult when the Wennington estate is filled with horses, and a spark ignites between her and the grumpy lord. Will they remain stuck in their ways, or learn that they may just be the perfect match?

💕 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕 💕

FROM ME...
I've said it before and I'll say it again, THIS IS ONE OF MY AUTO BUY AUTHORS! 🙌 Seriously! Every work I've tried, I've enjoyed. She's got a real knack for creating characters you want to know in worlds you want to visit and situations you either would love to trade places to be in or die of embarrassment 😳, but you're right there the whole time through thick and thin! This latest release is no different, and yet worth the read tenfold. Don't believe me? The perfect cure for disbelief is trying it for yourself!

So HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY to the latest addition to her catalog and the second installment of the MISS PRENTICE'S PROTEGEES series! If you're a Historical Fiction fan, do not miss this author more this series... available now via St Martin's Griffin.

WHAT'S THE BUZZ: Romance Edition featuring Virginia Heath and Mariah Stone!

What's better than ONE post featuring new releases coming soon to a bookstore shelf near you? Why, TWO of course! WHAT'S THE BUZZ is back for round two today with a special HISTORICAL ROMANCE EDITION. That's right! Where are my HR fans at? Let's see those hands in the air...or you may raise your hand all dainty like, though the female leads in today's featured titles would DEFINITELY choose the former! Speaking of those titles...both release TOMORROW, both are the third book in a series (with yellow covers!) though reading them standalone would work as well (but really, WHY! Read them all!), both are by author's that write feisty, strong willed, independent female leads that still desire love despite all protests to the contrary...and I was honored to be a part of the advanced reading team for each author. (THANK YOU!) So, let's get between the epages, shall we?

The Merriwell Sisters, Book 3
by
Virginia Heath
9781250787804
St. Martin's Press

About the book...
Miss Venus Merriwell has been waiting for her prince to come since the tender age of fourteen. She wants a man who is selfless, academic like her, and free from all the wretched vices her gambler father enjoyed far too much before he left the Merriwell sisters practically destitute. Unfortunately, after a slew of romantic disappointments, there is still no sign of that prince at twenty-three and the only one true love of her life is the bursting-at-the-seams orphanage in Covent Garden that she works tirelessly for. An orphanage that desperately needs to expand into the empty building next door.

For Galahad Sinclair, gambling isn’t just his life, it’s in his blood. He grew up and learned the trade at his grandfather’s knee in a tavern on the far away banks of the Hudson in New York. But when fate took all that away and dragged him across the sea to London, it made sense to set up shop here. He’s spent five years making a success out of his gaming hell in the sleazy docks of the East End. Enough that he can finally afford to buy the pleasure palace of his dreams—and where better than in the capital’s sinful heart, Covent Garden? The only fly in his ointment is the perfect building he’s just bought to put it in also happens to be right next door to the orphanage run by his cousin’s wife’s youngest sister. A pious, disapproving and unsettling siren he has avoided like the plague since she flattened him five years ago…

While Venus and Galahad lock horns over practically everything, and while her malevolent orphans do their darndest to sabotage his lifelong dream, can either of them take the ultimate gamble—and learn to love thy neighbor?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you ask me to name one of my go to authors, one of my auto buy picks, Virginia Heath is right there at the top of my list.  There's not a work she's written that I've read thus far which I haven't fallen completely in love with it!  My first exposure to her work was her Warriner's series and while we've come a long way from a flash of an ankle being a scandalous moment, the stories never fail to enchant, the characters never miss leaving an impression, and I've never turned the final page without a smile on my face.
Venus and Galahad were a story waiting to happen...or a volcanic eruption of passion waiting to come forth, but, in any case, it was a welcome event!  We followed the paths to love for her sisters, and now it was the youngest's turn.  Though saddled with a beautiful name that caused her nothing but torment from the male species, she was a lady not to be toyed with.  She learned from her mistakes, and chose to take her love life by the reigns to guide it where she wanted it to be.  Ah, if only matters of the heart were that simple...but then the story wouldn't be as delicious, the banter so hard hitting, the distractions so tantalizing, and the build up so filled with anticipation!
I loved how much Venus was truly herself.  She knew who she was, what she wanted, what she hadn't gotten in the past, and the way to procure it in the future (well, sort of).  When Galahad stepped in as an obstacle not to be simply gotten around, her heart took a misstep, but she wouldn't let it sway her mission.  It wasn't selfish, in fact she was fighting for those less fortunate in need of education, a roof over their heads, and a chance at a successful future, but it was narrow sighted, and though stubborn, even she couldn't deny the truth once all the masks of the "gallant knight" were seen through.  I adored Galahad for everything he was, everything he made it through, and the golden heart that shined in every dark moment despite his best efforts to hide it from the world.  It wasn't selfish either, he'd been hurt BIG TIME by those that should have been his protectors, but he found his way, and eventually his heart had its say.
A FABULOUS READ once again from an author who knows her craft, and shares it with the world!  I can't say enough about this release, or those prior, except that if you've yet to read her work, and are a fan of Historical Romance, you don't know what you're missing!
Dukes and Secrets, Book 3
by
About the book...
Overprotective rake. Daring bluestocking. A marriage of convenience between opposites…who fall head over heels.
Marriage? “No thank you, sir!” has always been Lady Calliope Seaton’s answer. But she needs access to naval documents to rescue her brother Spencer. And she’ll do anything to get them—even wed disreputable navy officer Nathaniel Fitzgerald, the Duke of Kelford.
Nathaniel has been obsessed with the daring bluestocking since she broke into his office. And to claim his inheritance, he needs a wife and an heir. So he proposes a marriage of convenience.
Moving into Nathaniel’s decaying Mayfair mansion and taking on his three untutored sisters would challenge even the bravest new bride. But it’s not long before Calliope is fixing up his home, winning over his sisters and claiming his heart.
Falling hard for his adventurous wife ignites Nathaniel’s fierce protective instincts. Especially when he learns there may be a baby on the way—and a threatening stranger sends knife-wielding attackers.
Calliope will never allow herself to be caged, and trying to keep her safe is turning Nathaniel into a tyrant he loathes. Will their differences destroy them, or can love win over fear?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My love for this series has grown with each installment, and this one continued the trend!  We're still on the hunt to discover what happened to the missing member of the Seaton house, Spencer, but they are getting closer and closer to the truth...some might say DANGEROUSLY close...and the dogged tracking of the events that transpired are putting our new leads in the cross hairs of some dangerous foes.  Grant it, this is definitely a story line that pulls us forward, it's not the only one.  There are matters of the heart to contend with too!

Calliope was a force to be reckoned with; no apologies or excuses.  It mattered not to her the danger she might be in.  It mattered not that the things she did were not the things done by ladies of her status, or women in her time at all.  It mattered not if a man found her becoming or likable otherwise because she was fine being a bluestocking that followed her own mind, morals, and heart.  Would she have liked a companion to walk with in life?  Sure...but she wasn't willing to squeeze herself into the ton's box to make it fit.  SO MUCH RESPECT FOR HER...and the love she eventually finds is just as dazzling as the woman deserving of it.  OH, and the whole showdown with a shadow of her past was SO worth it!  (He really deserved far, far worse...)

Nathaniel was the man for her, whether either knew it from the start!  He carried a title, but no fortune, as it was locked up tight thanks to his deceased father...however, what first looks like a strike of vengeance from beyond the grave might actually turn out to be a stroke of genius to uncover a heart hurting for so long, and expose it to the love it truly deserves.  Anywho, let we wax less sentimental because Nathaniel is definitely ALL man, doing manly things, and making sure his sisters and limited staff are taken care of until the will and pending fortune can be sorted.  He's rather remarkable, if I do say so myself, and while I can't say I didn't want to box him about the ears a time or two with his stubborn ways, and flare ups of small mindedness, it all stemmed from experience without guidance, so it was understandable, and he eventually comes round.

All in all, so many reasons to celebrate this release and the characters within, if I keep listing them, we'll be here all day!  Do yourself the favor and catch this release as well as the previous two!  Recommended for adult readers as there are a few scenes not intended for younger eyes, but a definite MUST for fans of the genre!

Never Rescue a Rogue
by
Virginia Heath

About the book...
Why on earth would she want to kiss him when he vexed her so?

Diana Merriwell and Giles Sinclair only tolerate one another for the sake of their nearest and dearest. Everyone believes that they are meant to be together, but Diana and Giles know that it is animosity, not attraction, that fuels their barbed exchanges. Anyway, Diana loves her freedom too much to give it up for marriage, and Giles is happily wedded to his bachelor lifestyle.

After Giles’ curmudgeonly father, the Duke of Harpenden, unexpectedly turns up his toes, it’s only a matter of time before the circumstances of his only son’s birth are revealed. With the threat of blackmail hanging over him, Giles must uncover the truth, or he and all those who depend on him will be ruined.

As Giles and Diana dive into his family’s past, the attraction that they insisted wasn’t there proves impossible to ignore. It seems that the future of the Sinclair estate isn’t the only thing on the line…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know, I know.
I've used this clipart not so long ago, but come on....it's VIRGINIA HEATH!
I'm definitely a fangirl of her writing, and a member of her Facebook group (if you haven't checked it out, you simply must!), but trust me, my love of her past novels never colors the experience of the next, or in this case, the current one.  Yes, I go in with preconceived notions of impending enjoyment, laughter, smirks, and heart flutters, but if they don't happen, they don't happen.... but really, they always do!  This book was no exception...
The follow-up to Never Fall for Your Fiancé, we get to explore a story with another Merriwell sister.  This time around, it's Diana's turn, and can I just say that I so identify with her?  I mean not so much in the family history side of things, or the potential love interest that annoys the snot out of you at every turn, but the suspicious of intentions, the curious mind, the need to know, the need to rescue, help, and aid justice when able, but with facts not conjecture...THAT'S where I identify...as well as her stubborn streak, her love of her independence, and close family ties.  Yes, Diana is a diamond of the first water, even though we aren't debuting a debutante.  But I digress, she's a firecracker that you don't want to cross because she'll out you if it's the right thing to do.  That's why when her ever present annoyance that goes by the name of Giles gets into trouble, he knows he can count on her no matter what skeletons rattle loose in his closet.  She's get to the bottom of things and protect those she...loathes?  Well, I'll let you be the judge, but that ever famous phrase of protesting too much, yeah...TOTALLY APPLIES!
It was wonderful catching up with this family once again, and getting to know this potential couple-to-be was absolutely joyous!  The snark, the whit, the mad scrambles in the dark of night to uncover juicy bits of insight, only to get caught exactly where they shouldn't be...listening to things they were never intending (LOL!).  The whole lot of it from secrets from the past to secrets of the heart, I was enthralled, enticed, and entertained!  (Inside joke for those that read it!)  But seriously, I'd say it was my favorite, but I'll go with my favorite to date because pretty much every time a new title is released, I'm adding a new favorite to the list!  Do yourself a favor...if you enjoy Historical Romance, YOU HAVE TO CHECK THIS AUTHOR OUT!
About the author...
When Virginia Heath was a little girl it took her ages to fall asleep, so she made up stories in her head to help pass the time while she was staring at the ceiling. As she got older, the stories became more complicated, sometimes taking weeks to get to the happy ending. Then one day, she decided to embrace the insomnia and start writing them down. Twenty books and two Romantic Novel of the Year Award nominations later, and it still takes her forever to fall asleep.
Bookstore Romance Day REWIND: Must Read Historical Romance for Your TBR!
Hi there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
So, as many of you know, August 20th, 2022 was BOOKSTORE ROMANCE DAY...and whilst I was not able to post specifically for the day, I'm definitely in a better-late-than-never frame of mind because really, EVERY DAY could be BOOKSTORE DAY in one category or another, and I'd be completely on board with it!  But I digress, this post is about the books!  I've got a roundup of recent and recent-ish releases that will entertain, captivate, turn your head, and your heart, all in the category of Romance, that I've read and definitely want to recommend to any other fans of the genre, so get your MUST READ LIST ready for a few new additions!
Society's Most Scandalous, Book 1
by
Virginia Heath
9781335723352
Harlequin Books
One of my FAVORITE AUTHORS (definitely on auto-buy), and her writing never disappoints!  I was lucky enough to snag an eARC of this one, but guess what...I had already ordered it from Harlequin, so now I've got the print edition to add to my collection!
Jasper and Lady Harriet.  He's a rake with a notorious past, and an equally dubious future.  Despite having made his money with his own two hands, the ton doesn't exactly look kindly on him, and though they are fully ready to visit his establishments, they are not as quick to welcome him into their circles.  Lady Harriet is a wallflower, and yet that is mostly of her own design.  She'd much prefer to sit out of the spotlight, especially after her own disastrous season coupled with a riding accident that left her a little less than confident and with a lingering injury to boot.  She doesn't let it get in her way, and in truth does everything she can to live beyond it, including helping others that may be in her very shoes, but it's still anything but fun to be considered less than, or babysat at every event in the hopes that she won't feel left out.  Her helpful spirit, and kind heart get her into more trouble when she dares to help her longtime friend.  Secrets and rumors abound, and when the dust settles, it may be more than one heart can bear...but two?  Now that IS an interesting mix.
I loved seeing these two characters dance around each other and how Jasper turned the wallflowers into THE EVENT versus the event themselves...too much!  Okay, so not really too much, but too much in the WHAT A PERFECT TWIST sort of way because who doesn't like a rake with a heart of gold, attention to lavish, and integrity to spare?  Yeah, exactly...but don't tell the ton.  He has a reputation to protect.
Another great addition to her growing body of works that never seems to disappoint!
From the beautiful cover to the moving story, this is one Historical Fiction novel you can't pass up!
As the German invasion of London is under way, every step they take, every decision they make is harder and more fraught with danger than ever before.  The nightly bomb drops make sleep near impossible.  The daytime raids would rattle anyone's nerves.  Those on the front lines weren't the only ones fighting the war...and sometimes the ones left behind had just as harrowing decisions to make putting their lives and the lives of those they love on the line.
Cal and Maisie are two hearts that find each other during tougher than tough times, and yet, it proves that beauty, and love can still be found, if only we're willing to take the chance.  Watching her grow and take charge of her life, seeing him falter under the changes impacting their daily lives and eventually accept that is anything good was to come of this disaster, they'd have to take their futures into their own hands...it was both heart wrenching and heart warming.  There were times I was so on edge about the fate of one character or another, I was literally holding my breath until the moments passed.  Then there were other times that I would simply giggle from the sheer joy they had found, even for a moment, within these horrific times.
A novel of substance, history, and heart, and an author whose further works I shall certainly be looking into ....
Entangled AMARA
James and Jacqueline.  Two souls with histories that weigh heavy on their shoulders, and yet two hearts that belong together more than most others.  He was a matchmaker, of sorts, that could make a good pairing for most of the ton...just not for himself.  She belonged to a family that fell into ruins, and while her sister married for companionship, she would have to marry for money to save them all.  Problem is she is not like the rest of the girls...a phrase she grows to thoroughly despise as it seems the only thing that can be uttered by those who should/could have an interest...and yet, one doesn't see it as a problem, but a plus.  Grant it, it's the one that doesn't want to see ANYTHING in her or any other female for that matter, thanks to a treacherous past where love wasn't an easy path to tread, but nevertheless...the heart wants what the heart wants...and this duo is in for a few surprises...as are readers!
It's not just a story of these two hearts, but of giving up the ghost of guilt that doesn't belong to you, living in the moment not the worry of things that may never pass, and opening yourself to the happiness that could be yours if only you'd give it a chance.  It was witty, wonderful, wild at times, and fun...all things I've come to know and love about this author's work.
RELEASE DATE:  02/22/22
About the book…
The earl she loved to hate
…until she stayed in his mansion!
Sophie Gilbert has thwarted the standoffish new earl’s plans to sell his country estate and the quaint village that forms part of it. But when disaster strikes and he offers her refuge, she must reconsider everything about this vexing, determined man. After the heartbreak in her past, it’s a revelation to feel her pulse racing and her body yearning for his touch…
Sophie and Rafe...
...a love story written in the stars...
...or is that the STARES?
Rafe has come to this quaint little town not by choice but by necessity.  It seems some distant relative he didn't know has passed away, and lacking an immediate heir, he was the next in the bloodline to inherit his "legacy".  Lands, a mansion, a title, and a sizeable bank account are well and truly appreciated by Rafe because he has plans for his future, and this will enable that to become a reality...BUT I put "legacy" in quotation marks for a reason.  You see, his predecessor was a less than liked landowner, and an even more negligent landlord.  He loved to reap the wealth of what he "sowed", but not to lift a finger in assistance, or a hand to those in need, even if they were truly his charges.  Certainly not unheard of in these times, but definitely a fly in the ointment.  Why?  Well, as it stands, Rafe's future plans may not just be for himself, making him seem to have a heart...and yet, he's never wanted a title either, so he planned to sell out and run toward that dream.  Enter fly number two in the ointment...who goes by the name of Sophie.
The townspeople may not have liked the man they paid rent to, but they liked their livelihood, the ability to provide for themselves, and have a roof over their heads, so they were entirely suspicious of the new earl from the word go.  With a little nudge in the right direction, away from mere gossip and towards action to stake their claims, they are pulling together to face off against him...and their elected leader is Sophie.  Nary a bad word to be said about her in town, but she has a way with people, a way with words, and a past she'd rather not discuss.  Her aunt is the only relation she claims, and she's ever grateful for the townspeople who welcomed her in when she was lost.  So naturally, she'd do anything for them...and if it takes squaring off against the overly handsome, secretly kind hearted earl, than that's just what she'll do.
Sound like the makings of a good old fashioned showdown?  Ah, but that's just the half of it!  It gets even better as you become even more involved in their lives, discovering the truth behind Rafe's dreams, the history Sophie has tried so hard to forget, the lengths to which two hearts that recognize each other's pain will go to in order to stay strong...and yet the ultimate power of love, in its many forms.  I also want to mention that as much as this is Rafe and Sophie's story, the relationships between both of them and the townspeople are just as important, and let us not forget a particularly special young man and how his outright honesty and open heart are a true blessing.  It's another wonderful story from an author whose work I truly enjoy, and I can't wait to check out more stories in the series as they arrive!
About the author...
When Virginia Heath was a little girl it took her ages to fall asleep, so she made up stories in her head to help pass the time while she was staring at the ceiling. As she got older, the stories became more complicated, sometimes taking weeks to get to the happy ending. Then one day, she decided to embrace the insomnia and start writing them down. Twenty books and two Romantic Novel of the Year Award nominations later, and it still takes her forever to fall asleep.
RRR presents... NEVER FALL FOR YOUR FIANCEE by Virginia Heath - REVIEW!
Hi guys!
Welcome back to the site that aims to please, Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers!
As promised, we're back immediately with another tour making its way through the blogosphere with Rachel's Random Resources, and this one just so happens to feature one of my FAVORITE Historical Fiction authors. Yep! That's right! None other than Virginia Heath has released yet another title, TODAY in fact, and I couldn't be happier to be a part of the celebration. So, gather your wits, and put on your bonnet, we're going for a ride between the epages of today's second blog tour guest, and ebook of choice...
Never Fall for Your Fiancée
by
Virginia Heath
About the book...
The trouble with lies is they have a tendency to catch a man out.
The last thing Hugh Standish, Earl of Fareham, wants is a wife.
But since the only way to keep his mother’s matchmaking ways at bay is the promise of
impending nuptials, Hugh takes the most logical action: he invents a fake fiancée.
It’s the perfect plan – until Hugh learns that his mother is on a ship bound for England to meet his ‘beloved’. He needs a solution fast, and when he collides with a mysterious beauty, he might just have found the answer to his prayers.
Minerva Merriwell is desperate for money to support her sisters, and although she knows that posing as the Earl’s fiancée might seem nonsensical, it’s just too good an offer to refuse.
As the Merriwells descend upon Hugh’s estate, the household is thrown into turmoil as everyone tries to keep their tangled stories straight. And with Hugh and Minerva’s romantic ruse turning into the real thing, is true love just one complication too many?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Oh my stars, this book was such a delight!

I enjoyed getting to know the Merriwells, one and all. Even when I thought I might lash out at young Vee, heaven forbid the poor chit play along to help her family...at least the ones that are there for her, unlike the curr that left them to fend for themselves. Even when I wanted Diana to put a sock in it with her accusations, and suspicions because clearly there were other things at stake and quite frankly there was a romantic possibility covered in biscuit crumbs that she could have been considering even while she let her tongue fly. Even when I fell into despair thinking that Minerva would back out of it all before it ever began, and who could really blame her with that spirited conversation she had with none other than the Earl. I just knew that they were going to be a family to remember, and boy did they prove me right over and over again!

My favorite part, outside of the outrageous, and ever growing elaborate lie, or should I say performance, itself was when Hugh was teaching Minerva to dance. She has two left feet, if ever one had them, and was point blank in stating as much. Hugh, however, was intent on getting through to her, and making her smile again, but that's a story for you to discover, so when push came to shove, he found a way. It was something small, yet endearing, and the joy it brings to both of them, simply makes you let loose a contented sigh. Of course, there are many other wonderful passages, exchanges, and moments to remember, but this one definitely sits on high for me. Curious to hear from other readers what their favorite part was too!

All in all, another wonderful release from an author that never fails to amaze me with her talent for creating characters to love, and stories to remember. I love that I can pick up any of her works, and get not only a well written story, but humor, wit, romance, strong female leads, and dashing potential heroes to be. Historical Fiction fans, if you haven't made her acquaintance yet, I suggest you do post haste!

HI guys!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, I'm pleased as punch to bring you a stop along the current Rachel's Random Resources tour as it features an AMAZING new Historical Romance from one of my FAVORITE authors! Yes, my friends, Virginia Heath is back with her third (and final) book in the Talk of Beau Monde series, and as we've already beheld both Hope's and Faith's stories, it's about time we get to the youngest of the Brooke sisters, Charity. So, ladies and gents, grab your opera glasses, and bestill your heart because today's magnificent ebook of choice and blog tour guest has arrived center stage....

How Not to Chaperon a Lady
by
Virginia Heath
Mills & Boon

About the book...
His childhood nemesis…is the woman he can’t resist!

Chaperoning Charity Brookes while she’s on a singing tour should be easy for Griffith Philpot—he’s spent his whole life sparring with her over her flighty ways! But as he discovers that she’s much more than the impetuous girl he thought he knew, a passion ignites between them… Sharing a steamy kiss leaves him torn – he’s supposed to be responsible for guarding her virtue!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alrighty then, so this review is coming to you fast and furious because I quite literally JUST got done reading it and have to get my thoughts done post haste! Quite honestly, I've adored every title I've read thus far from author Virginia Heath, and the Talk of Beau Monde series is no exception. Each time you pick up a new one, you find yourself ensconced immediately, like you were merely gone for a few moments, and can pick up just where you left off with nary a backward glance. I remember Hope and Faith both having a rather trying time with love, so I knew when it came to the youngest, the one that has always been doted upon by others for both her looks and her talents, there was going to be some fireworks at the very least...and I was not disappointed!
Charity is a kind soul with a flirtatious nature that she uses to her advantage...but not exactly how that might sound. Yes, she enjoys the attention, and no, she's never short on male suitors, but she wants more than all that. She wants what her sisters have with their husbands. She wants all the bells and whistles love can bring, but it's been illusive to say the least. Could it be despite her heavy handed attempt at swaying a particular Lord her way, he cap was already set without her actually knowing? Could it be that the one man that would definitely protest too much in spite of it all, actually likes her...or more? Could her happily-ever-after that started with less pomp and A LOT of circumstance be the unusual ticket that eventually gets her and Griff exactly where they need to be? You'll have to read it to find out, but suffice it to say that the story takes some unexpected twists that really take it out of BOTH their hearts, but in the end, the music they make together is THAT much sweeter for having gone through it.
All in all, a grand read from a wonderful author with characters you'll love and a story you won't soon forget. If you're a Historical Romance or Fiction fan, this is definitely an AUTHOR YOU NEED TO KNOW!
