The young adult adaptation of the hopeful and refreshingly candid bestselling memoir by the husband of a former Democratic presidential candidate about growing up gay in his small Midwestern town. Completely rewritten with new stories, including resources for readers, parents, and teachers.

Growing up, Chasten Glezman Buttigieg didn’t always fit in. He felt different from his father and brothers, who loved to hunt and go camping, and out of place in the rural, conservative small town where he lived. Back then, blending in was more important than feeling seen.

So, when Chasten realized he was gay, he kept that part of himself hidden away for a long, painful time. With incredible bravery, and the support of his loved ones, Chasten eventually came out—and when he did, he learned that being true to himself was the most rewarding journey of all.

Finding acceptance and self-love can seem like a tremendous challenge, but it’s never impossible. With honesty, courage, and warmth, Chasten relays his experience of growing up in America and embracing his identity, while inspiring young people across the country to do the same.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Honestly, I'm not one for politics, but even with that said, this was an interesting read.  Yes, you get a behind the scenes look at he campaign trail as experienced first hand, the trials, tribulations, ugliness, and happy times, but it's MORE than that.
This is the story of someone taking ownership of their life.  This is the story of someone who grew up in times that being different than the "norm" was frowned upon, and, let's face it, it's still true today to certain extents.  This is the story of someone that faced their "demons", chased away the bad times with GOOD, and ultimately found their happiness.  I may not have known anything about Chasten before this book, but you can't walk away from it without having a clearer picture of where we've made progress, and where we still struggle to achieve better heights of humanity.  No one should feel as if they have to hide who they truly are.  No one should go without the support of others, the love of family (chosen or blood), or sense of security that should be a given part of being a part of the human race.  I mean, HUMAN is a big part of HUMANE...and yet it's left out of so many spaces for adults, as well as the kiddos from the next generations.
In sharing his story, Chasten has made it possible for others that see themselves reflected here to perhaps speak out sooner, and ultimately embrace everything life has to offer with an open heart, while helping to open the minds of others.
It's almost time to say, happy... ELMO'S MOMMY DAY by Andrea Posner-Sanchez - REVIEW!
It's almost time to say, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
Have you already made your card, bought your present, planned your day for your Mom?  If not, you still have some time, but I've got a little suggestion to help you out too!  It's a NEW BOOK that released just last month via Random House Books for Young Readers, and it features none other than our furry friend ELMO!  Elmo shares his 'Mommy Day' in a special adventure perfect for wee ones and beyond.  Let's take a closer look...
Random House Books for Young Readers
This charming board book is perfect for the upcoming Mother's Day holiday, but can be enjoyed the whole year through!  Elmo plays a fun game of hide-and-seek with his mom, and readers get to play along, looking under flaps for Elmo, at first, and then the special surprise he's hidden for her.  It's sweet, and simple, with wonderfully bright illustrations, giving little ones fun time with their red, furry friend, and more reading time with dear old Mom.  You can't help but smile when you see Elmo trying his hardest to hide.  You can't help but giggle as Mom gets closer, and closer to finding him.  You can't ignore the expression of love on Mom's face when she discovers Elmo's present to her.  It's a book I can see being cherished by new parents as well as the little ones they share it with, but also being passed on down the line for the next generation of readers to enjoy as well.
A great addition to any home library, but also a great gift for those with young kiddos at home, or from a child to their mom!
Oliver Jones owns the trendy local coffee shop and establishes himself as the town entrepreneur when he buys the derelict old cinema in the park. Bringing it back to life is going to be a challenge and he wants his best friend Patsy to be his business partner.
After lying low for three years is it a mistake for her to change the life that has kept her safe or is it time to start living again? Will stepping into the limelight tempt fate and mean her past catches up with her and can she survive if it does?
As well as writing, she spends her free time dressmaking, knitting and reading an inordinate amount of contemporary romance, occasionally punctuated by the odd psychological thriller and saga.
Happy BOOK BIRTHDAY Week to... TAYLOR SWIFT: A LITTLE GOLDEN BOOK BIOGRAPHY by Wendy Loggia - REVIEW!
Hey there Swifties and non-Swifties.
Today, we're gonna take this not-so-great week and SHAKE IT OFF as we set our bookish focus on a NEW TITLE available now via Golden Books/Random House Children's Books. It's a LOVE STORY...no, wait, LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO! 😉 *checks info* Correction, it's a Biography that fills in all that BLANK SPACE for that BEJEWELED musical artist that draws fans from knee high, TWENTY TWO, and beyond! ARE YOU READY FOR YOU? 😏 Well then, YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN just a smidgen so I can get the details out, and then you can get your GORGEOUS self to the bookstore of your choosing to snag a copy of this week's celebrant...
Golden Books
This is the story you may or may not know, but will certainly love, of how one young lady with the talent and a dream, followed her hours and heart to make things happen... and is still doing so today!
Say her name; there's not many that can honestly say they've never heard of her. Taylor Swift is an icon in her own right, but not everyone knows how she got where she is today, and that inspirational story is just the boost of confidence little ones need to take that next step on their own path in life. Whether they want a music career, film, medical, or blue collar, is not the "bigness" of the goal, or how important it may be viewed as, but that there is a goal, a dream they want with all their hearts, and they're not afraid to go out there and get it. Life isn't easy, life likes to throw monkey wrenches in the best oiled of works, but if we hold on to our truths, and keep that end goal in sight, there's nothing we can't achieve.
I loved the inspiring story shared, and when paired with the lovely, and colorful illustrations, it really brought Taylor's story to life. If you're a die hard fan, they may be things you already know, but if you're not as hardcare or from the youngest set just starting out in the fandom, prepare for your eyes and your heart to be opened.
This title is available now wherever books are sold!
Snuggle down with this cosy, feel-good, comfort read that whisks you away to a beautiful bay on the Isle of Wight – Perfect for fans of Christie Barlow, Alison Sherlock, Rachael Lucas, and Holly Martin.
The Pepper Bay books are standalone stories that intertwine with recurring characters. Best enjoyed when read in order.
All she does is work in housekeeping in Sandly’s biggest hotel. Being asked to be his pretend girlfriend in exchange for a whole heap of money doesn’t exist, even in her wildest dreams. Can she really pull it off? Be the small-town girl who he needs to rebuild his image? It’s worth a try. What could go wrong? Especially with Keaton’s right-hand man, Jude Jackson, always by her side, making sure she’s okay. He smells so good, just like the ocean she adores, and he looks like the men her sister Lexi puts on the front covers of her steamy romance novels. How is Harriet supposed to concentrate on being Keaton’s fake girlfriend when she can’t stop looking at Jude? The best part is, Jude is always looking back.
The Lost Man
by
A.S. Kelly
About the book...
I left at dawn on a rainy day.
I left as he slept, believing that he’d still find me in his arms when he woke up. I left, taking everything I’d promised him. I took it all, and neither of us would ever have it again.
I left, turning my back on everything I knew, believing I could never be part of it.
I left the man who loved me, the family who raised me. I left my home, my roots, my dreams.
 I left my whole life behind in search of a past that was never mine. I hurt everyone who loved me, and broke him into so many pieces that I know I’ll never deserve his forgiveness.
But I’m here, now, trying to rebuild everything I’ve destroyed. I’m trying to find what I thought I’d lost. And although he says that he’ll never be the same, though he says that there’s nothing left of him, I can’t abandon him again. I can’t say goodbye to us.
They say that you always find your way back to happiness, but I’ve found my way back to the only place I’ve ever felt at home.
I’ve found my way back to him.
RRR presents... Love in the Wings by Ellie White - REVIEW!
Dim the lights and raise the curtain!
It's time to say hello to today's ebook of choice on tour with Rachel's Random Resources that's ready to impress, to wow, to do the whole razzle dazzle routine and then some just to catch your eye. Ladies and gents, today's featured title is...
Love in the Wings
by
Ellie White
About the book...
Harriet Adams was a West End rising star until a lapse in judgement cost her: her dream job, her boyfriend and so-called friends.
She packs up her life and moves back to Sunderland where she gets a rare second chance at a career she thrives in. As she’s about open a shiny new musical in front of a home audience, she vows that this time, nothing is going to get in her way. With everything riding on this, she’ll play it safe, work hard and most importantly, stay away from theatre guys.
Cue Liam Wright, Assistant Stage Manager.
Liam is everything Harriet didn't know she needed in her life, but he also has a secret. One that could advance his own career if he cashes it in. The only catch? It will ruin any chance of happiness with Harriet if she finds out.
Harriet and Liam share a love like no other, but will that be enough to save their budding relationship when the time comes?
 AMAZON  UK | US
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
From the awkward meet cute to how they keep running into each other quite literally, Harriet and Liam had sparks right from the start. She had him rethinking his plans without ever having uttered a word, and he had her crossing personal lines she swore never to cross again. They are like every cliche you can imagine, and some that haven't been invented yet, but it doesn't stop you from rooting for them, being in their corner despite the heat generating from it, and genuinely being wowed by their performance both on and off the stage.
I admit I was highly suspicious of both Liam's father, and his right hand woman, Di, straight out the gate. It just didn't gel right, and, as it turns out, my feelings weren't without substance! The proof was in the proverbial pudding, when all is said and done, but that's only a part of the script. They may have just met, but sometimes you just KNOW, so when they decide their affection is worth risking their contracts for (yeah, dig into that one for more scandalous, outrageous parental control!), things get hot and heavy in a hurry (caution for those that only read closed door). Again that's only part of the narrative because while their feelings are running wild, they're also building a relationship that feels like it will last. From the small moments to the gestures to the holding each other together when everything is falling apart, they were made for each other. When the inevitable poo hits the fan, the fallout is intense, but it feels right, even when we're in the ledge and holding on to hope like it's the last threads of our safety line, it still feels real, still captures your heart.
All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable read for adult Romance fans that you won't soon forget!
