HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Wow...can you believe it?
MAY is already here!  I don't know about you, but April went CRAZY fast.  Cie la vie, let's hope this month is better than the last and only a precursor to the fabulousness to come.  Speaking of which, today's blog tour guest via Rachel's Random Resources is a wonderful way to start.  We're shining the light on BOOK FOUR in the Wild Warriners series by author Virginia Heath.  You may recognize the series or author name from my rather enthusiastic post last year.  Well, consider this one just as much in her fan camp as that because it was OH SO GOOD!  Ready or not, let's meet today's ebook of choice...

Wild Warriners, Book 4
Virginia Heath
Mills & Boon

About the book...
A sensible schoolmistress…
Awakened by the notorious rake!

In this The Wild Warriners story, schoolmistress Felicity Blunt feels old beyond her years—and desperately dull. Meeting confirmed rake Jacob Warriner brings her gloriously to life, yet no matter his allure, she must remain immune to his obvious charms and unashamed flirtation. But is Jacob merely a mischievous scoundrel, or is there much more to this Warriner than meets the eye?

I know what you're thinking, that title, oye!  Yeah, well...with a story THIS GOOD, who cares?!
What begins as just another mission, turns into something OH SO MUCH more as we dive into the final installment in the Wild Warriners quartet.

Boo!  Why am I booing?  Simple...didn't you read that last line?  FINAL installment?  Yeah...I'm gonna miss these guys, and their female counterparts...makes it almost glad I still have to backtrack at some point and read the first two.  What?  Can I help it if I was introduced to it when book three was releasing?  Can I help it that I LOVED IT SO MUCH that when I saw this title going on tour I jumped at the chance to participate?  Right, so that's that.  Now, back to the story...

This time around we are getting to know the youngest of the Warriner brothers, Jacob aka Jake aka Philanderer aka Rake aka Jake the Snake...shall I continue?  Perhaps not, in that vein at least, but a few of the names thrown his way do a fair bit of telling about his character...or at least the one he projects.  Thing is, there's a reason behind his lack of interest in finding another half., why he seeks passing fun and not something that involves all the messy emotions of the heart.  Thing is...sometimes what we aren't looking for smacks us upside the head when we weren't watching and is more often than not, exactly what we didn't realize we needed.  In Jake's case, her name is Fliss.

She is the one...that starts out as another mark and turns into something with greater potential.  Fliss is without a doubt unlike any of the girls/women Jake has "handled" yet, so much so that she gets under his skin from the very start not with simply her looks or manners, but her whit, forthrightness, and unapologizing view on life (when she can see, that is...what is with Crowley's problem with her spectacles!).  She's the only one that's seen through his facade to the man beneath and if he isn't careful, she may blow a cover he never intended to have revealed.

I adored this one at least as much as the last, from start to finish and everything in-between.  There were multiple passages I simply had to stop and share where our dear Fliss got the better of her "companions".  I found myself with a goofy grin as I saw Jake falling into something he didn't even recognize himself.  I laughed outright at the indignation Fliss displayed at having her wardrobe replaced, her day directed, and her person displaced whenever business came'd understand if you read it.  I was totally and completely swept up in the magic of it all and couldn't be happier with the outcome...including a flash forward surprise of the whole gang!

All in all, a grand adventure and another enticingly brilliant installment in the Wild Warriners series.  A must read for Historical Fiction fans, or even those simply looking for a romance that has more to the story line than a pillowed destination.  There's passion, heart, danger, strong willed, able bodied women, and equally willed and bodied men, all adding up to cast of characters and a story  you won't soon forget...nor will my bookshelf because I just placed my order for a print copy.  SWEET!

About the author...

When Virginia Heath was a little girl it took her ages to fall asleep, so she made up stories in her head to help pass the time while she was staring at the ceiling. As she got older, the stories became more complicated, sometimes taking weeks to get to the happy ending. Then one day, she decided to embrace the insomnia and start writing them down. Fortunately, the lovely people at Harlequin Mills & Boon took pity on her and decided to publish her romances, but it still takes her forever to fall asleep.
