RRR presents... THE LITTLE THEATRE ON HALFPENNY LANE by Clodagh Murphy - REVIEW!

Hello, hello!
Welcome back to post number two for the day, here at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

This time around, we're setting our sights on a work of Contemporary Fiction that reminds us that when the bones are good, the rest is simply dress rehearsal. Ladies and gents, today's second Rachel's Random Resources tour has arrived and is eager to meet you, so without further ado, our blog tour guest and ebook of choice is...

The Little Theatre on Halfpenny Lane
by
Clodagh Murphy

About the book...
Aoife and her sisters know exactly what to do when they inherit their Great-aunt Detta’s theatre on Halfpenny Lane:

Restore the dilapidated building to its former glory.
Perform together on its stage to packed houses and rapturous applause.
Live happily ever after.

But they didn’t count on Detta leaving a share in the theatre to her godson, Jonathan. Now they’ll have to persuade him to buy into their vision of stardust and magic – or find the money to buy him out.

As they fight to save the theatre, Aoife also battles her growing feelings for Jonathan. Because she can’t let herself fall for the man who’s about to bring the curtain down on their dreams.

As I'm typing this, I'm having a hard time pinpointing my thoughts...probably because I'm up way too late finishing my reading and reviews, but that's beside the point.  I think the true reason is because like the other book I featured today, it's about so many things.  It's Contemporary Fiction, so it takes place here and now.  I has veins of humor running through it, but only just.  The romantic aspects of the story remain rather chaste, letting us focus more so on the drama their Great Aunt Detta set into motion with her recent passing.  The girls were heartbroken, but it looks like a non-sibling is getting in on the inheritance action, whether they want to or not, much to their own surprise, and while it might seem like a problem solving sequence of events, it presents more trip falls than a minefield.  Just how these girls can keep their hearts in tact while trying to solve this will-induced drama, and be certain their sibling isn't missing out on a love match, remains to be seen...but suffice it to say, the journey through all of that and then some will have you turning epages long into the night.

A definite read for theater fans, Contemporary Fiction fans, and those among you that are more artistically inclined.  This story may be about taking the limelight for ourselves and the past into the future, but it doesn't mean your heart won't get tangled up in the process along the way.

Hmm! I think intrigued is the word I'm looking for. Whilst this book does not scream read me, it certainly has aspects that sound promising.
