For fans of Love, Simon and I Wish You All the Best, a funny, honest, messy, completely relatable story of a girl who realizes that love can be found in many ways that don't involve sex or romance.
From the marvelous author of Heartstopper comes an exceptional
YA novel about discovering that it's okay if you don't have sexual or romantic
feelings for anyone . . . since there are plenty of other ways to find love and
connection.
This is the funny, honest, messy, completely relatable story of Georgia, who
doesn't understand why she can't crush and kiss and make out like her friends
do. She's surrounded by the narrative that dating + sex = love. It's not until
she gets to college that she discovers the A range of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum --
coming to understand herself as asexual/aromantic. Disrupting the narrative
that she's been told since birth isn't easy -- there are many mistakes along
the way to inviting people into a newly found articulation of an always-known
part of your identity. But Georgia's determined to get her life right, with the
help of (and despite the major drama of) her friends.

This is a story about learning to be yourself.
This is a story about realizing that there is no one way to be, nor is there a wrong way to be...you are you, and you are simply marvelous.
Georgia has been struggling through her teen years trying to fit the mold society expects her to fit. Find a love interest. Focus on said love interest. Lose yourself in the mechanics of the relationship and available PDA opportunities. Get physical. Break up, make up, and do it all over again...and again...and again...until you find THE ONE. Romcoms make it dreamy. Novels make it swoon worthy. The thing they don't show or tell is what happens to those hearts that don't find their other half...but are also perfectly content to not invest their time looking for them. When Georgia gets out into the big, wide world of college, she learns about all the branches of the "love" tree, and that while she may have seemed like an anomaly back home, she is neither unique in her struggle, nor wrong in her feelings...or even the lack of them thereof. Her journey is eye opening, and builds awareness of the many different ways that people can identify, so while I was "entertained", I was also educated, and when a Fiction novel can do that, how can you not reach for it?
Young Adult readers of all ages will find themselves in Georgia's journey, in one fashion or another, and whether you're still finding your true self or well set in your ways, I do believe you'll walk away from this story changed for the better. Open your hearts and your minds as you meet Georgia (and friends!)...and she meets herself.
