AWARENESS TOUR: Mrs. Spring's Garden by Carole P. Roman - REVIEW + GIVEAWAY!

Time to dig a little deeper as we welcome The Children's Book Review and their latest Awareness Tour.  This time, it stars the work of author Carole P. Roman, and a Picture Book that's perfect for the time of year.  We all love a little Spring cleaning, both inside and out, but the out generally means tending to flower beds, and vegetable gardens.  Here, we take a closer look between the leaves and blades to see just what the story is down below.   Ladies and gents, let's take a peek between the epgages of today's blog tour guest and ebook of choice...

About the book...
Snail and Worm are having a dispute.
It’s causing quite a ruckus in their home.
Many of the other inhabitants of the garden are affected by their fight.
Will they be able to put their differences aside when they learn the garden’s existence is threatened?

What’s a bug to do?

I'm no stranger to author Carole P. Roman's work.  In fact, if you've followed my site for any decent amount of time, you're bound to find a handful of reviews featuring books penned by her, so needless to say, when I saw this tour come up, I was definitely curious to check it out.

Each one of her stories is memorable for their own reasons, and this one falls right on that line.  Between the epages, we get a bird's eye, well bug's eye technically, but you catch my drift, of Mrs. Spring's garden, and all that goes into making it brilliant.  I know what you're thinking, a lot of hard work, human hands getting down and dirty, and time spent in the great outdoors...but, you'd only be right on one of those points.  Yes, it is in the great outdoors, but it's not about what we can do to make a garden grow, per se, but about all the "little hands" that work together to keep it growing, healthy, and prolific.  That's right.  We're talking about the worms that till the earth, the snails that eat the detritus plant life, the bees that pollenate and cross pollenate, the butterflies that add even more visual beauty...and so many more.  It gives us a healthy appreciation of all THEY do to help make our gardens grow, but the tale doesn't stop there.

It brings about a potential villain of sorts that thinks they are getting rid of pests with the actions they want to take, but in reality, they are disrupting the little ecosystem of this beautiful place.  Guess who THAT is?  Yep...us.  It's not to say we can't garden and protect what's ours from those critters that would hurt it or us, but it means we should think about the means in which we provide that protection and perhaps seek a more natural and gentle way of dosing it out.

All in all, it's a cute story that shares messages of working together to get the job done, and how our differences are to be celebrated not shunned, as well as the eco warning about being kind to our world, as it's the only one we've got!
