HI guys and gals!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.
We're celebrating another day of bookish fun with Storybook Sunday! For those not up to speed on the post, I read a lot of great storybooks and thought, why not give them their own day in the sun. Hence, Storybook Sunday! Feel free to join the fun and create a post on your own site with the same name. I'd love to see any linked up in the comments! Anywho...back to the matter at hand.
First things first, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to the men (and women) in your lives that filled this particular role of guidance, support, and always giving you what you wanted (or not, depending on the situation). They are some big shoes to fill, but here's hoping the one in your lifetime left an impression of strength, love, and compassion, to last your days through.
Now, I don't know about you, but story time in my house was always lead by dear sweet Mom, at least until I was old enough to take over the reading duties. What can I say? I've been a readers since age too-little-to-remember and will be until I'm age too-old-to-remember...and I've absolutely no regrets. Anywho, circling back to what we're actually talking about today, and that is a particular Picture Book that is set to celebrate its book birthday this Tuesday via Dial Books! Ready or not, here comes today's book of choice...
It's a creative, interactive read that begs little ones to imagination WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT as they SPLAT their way through page after page of friend building fun. We start with a blob, make it friendly looking, decide to feed, decorate, and then introduce it around...all the while things are getting messier and messier and messier until...they aren't and yet they are even more so! With every turn of the page, readers get the chance to change what they see into what will be and that instant gratification will have them hooting and hollering and whooping it up as SPLAT after SPLAT after SPLAT creates its own masterpiece.
A fun read for the kiddos filled with bright, simple illustrations that will capture the eye and let your imagination run wild!
