RRR presents... JENN REINVENTED by Grayson Avery - REVIEW!

HI there!
Welcome back to Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers.

Today, we welcome Rachel's Random Resources as we shine the book spotlight on the latest from author Grayson Avery. You may remember the name from another review right here on my site, and in doing so, you're probably already stretching your laughing muscles, and prepping for the humor overload. Well, I've got news for you...there's...A LOT more jokes, and adult innuendos in this one, but there's also a lot more confusion, loss, and need for the Sweet Water Circle intervention. SO, if you're ready, let's step back into the circle and see what these ladies are up to this time...

Jenn Reinvented
by
Grayson Avery

About the book...
Jennifer Colby-Kittler is the boss. They even call her The Jenneral. But married life is hard, even when you call the shots. When the sizzle in her and husband Russ' romance goes AWOL, Jenn calls in the big guns. They're going to forge ahead and have a second child whether Russ likes it or not. The only problem is that Russ is leaning toward not.

When the Kittler's new baby mission doesn't go according to Jenn's plan, the tension grows, and a mutiny in their marriage unfolds. Jenn's sister (the lovable Kait from Project Kaitlyn, book one in the Sweet Water Circle series) and friends intervene, forcing her to explore her inner being by attending yoga classes hosted by a dreamy new instructor. Jenn reluctantly agrees, needing to learn to how to let go of control before a civil war leads to divorce. But when the guru falls for her (desperately wanting to also explore her inner being) and an old flame finds out that Jenn's marriage is under attack and attempts to plant his flag, Jenn doesn't know which path to choose.

Can Jenn learn to let go before her life spirals out of control? Should she save her marriage before it's too late, start over with someone new, or go it alone?

With hysterical antics, witty and humorous dialogue, and a strong character arc, you'll love the follow-up to Project Kaitlyn. Jenn Reinvented is the second book in the hilarious Sweet Water Circle series, exploring the relationships, life adventures, and personal growth of a small circle of friends, who you're gonna want to hang out with, which is good, because their stories are ready to be told in the rest of the Sweet Water Circle series!

Get ready to meet the Jenneral...aka Jenn.
She's the woman in charge. She's running the show. She's got things under control. She knows where she's going, and she knows how to get there...or at least, she thought she did. One day, her perfectly perfect for her world turns on its head. With a desire to have another baby with the man she loves going unfulfilled, that same said man deciding they would be better off on their own...as in them going their separate ways...and a mini conga line of potential suitors dancing through her door (and her sheets...well, one of them at least!), Jenn's got more on her plate than her appetite can handle. Good thing for her, she's got her girls and they have her. The Sweet Water Circle, in all their charming ways, attempt to get her back on track and in her own headspace to see what's really holding her back from achieving all her dreams, which of course leads to a myriad of face coloring humor (especially with Taylor involved!), but also to a lot of self realization through those trials and errors. In the end, she's better for it...and while the Jenneral might have retired, plain old Jenn ends up more than satisfied...with her life!

For me, while this story seemed heavier topic wise than the last, the amount of adult humor injected really walked the line of we're good and okay, that'll be all please. Still, if you can't laugh at a yoga pant wearing Adonis offering life coaching advice while not being able to control himself enough to finish things properly, then what can you? Seriously though, my humor taste was drawn more to her precious yet precocious moments with her son and the accidental utterance of some curse word or another. (They were funny, but cute!)  I was more disgusted than anything else with her soon-to-be-ex husband's antics.  I get his point, but I agreed with Jenn...why now?  Why not then, or any other time for that matter?  If roles were reversed, he'd be just as lost and clueless.

When all was said and done, I enjoyed my time between the pages. While I wasn't in love with Russ and the way he handled things, as long as our gal Jenn ended up happy in the end, there's only so much of a grudge I can hold. Can't wait to see what's in store for Taylor next go round!
